Sympathy

I remember 9.5 years ago when we lost my hubby's father; he was only 66; I remember the cards we received - soooo appreciated during a very difficult time.

I have a high school friend that has followed my mom's battle with cancer faithfully, always leaving encouraging notes and when I don't post an update, she'll reach out via a private message to make sure all is okay; what a sweet soul she is. And sadly, the tables have turned; her father was killed in a tragic 4-wheeler accident the middle of February; I immediately knew I wanted to make a sympathy card, but not just any sympathy card; I wanted it to be pretty, warm, comforting - as much as paper and ink can be those things.

I used this week's sketch (SC583) for my layout (sketch image down below).

I used some paper from the February 2016 Simon Says Stamp kit, some black glitter paper, two stitched circle dies (MFT) to create the pink lower half outline circle and then colored some WPlus9 Doodle Buds flower and leaves for the focal point. I used Zig Clean Color Brushes for my coloring; and yes, I made those leaves gray to match the designer paper - nothing says your leaves must be green. :D I actually like them a lot. As a finishing touch, I added several drops of glossy accents - kind of like dew drops. The inside has a sentiment from Verve's Wonderfully Made set (you are in my thoughts and prayers). Such a tragic, unexpected loss; life is always too short! Make sure you hug those you love and tell them you love them; so very important.

Hugs,
