Crafty Creations - Winter Scene

This week at Crafty Creations, we're creating Winter Scenes! I used an image I have had FOR-EH-VER - yep; that long at least. Cute little snowman from Whipper Snapper Designs, just like Jingle Balls (gah, love that image)!! And this little snowman is just as cute!

I paper pieced his coat then colored the rest of the image with Copics and colored pencils. The layout comes from Jen's Sketch For You To Try (last one EVER; ugh, makes me so sad, I absolutely adore Jen's sketches!!!).

To complete my little scene, I added a Charlie Brown tree (looks just like one, doesn't it) and a sweet little cardinal (my fave bird)!

I added glossy accents to the snowman's nose and buttons and some black dimensional drops for the eyes.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you'll join us this week and show off YOUR Winter Scene!

Hugs,

Hello?

Hi there friends! I'm back with a post for Crafty Creations using NO FLOWERS! You know I love my DP and do you know there are lots of flowers in DP - LOL! Alas, I was still successful!

I also teamed this challenge up with A Passion for Papertrey and dug out a stamp set that I LOVE but have only used one other time! That's sad, just sad.

I used some super bright and cheerful papers from MME and Jen's November Sketch For You To Try, finished it off with some stitching, the die cut phone (seriously - YOU are just jealous you don't have a cool red chevron phone like that) and some jute twine for the cord. :D

Thanks for popping in; hope you'll join us this week and show us YOUR creations without flowers!

Hugs,

October 31 - REALLY?

How did we arrive here? LOL This year is just flying by - do you know how many days till Christmas?  EEK!!!

I had yet to participate in Jen's October Sketch For You To Try and I wanted to make sure I didn't miss a month!

I am leaving my current job at the end of this week, so I made a funny card to share with several of my co-workers...I was even able to add the initials of the company I work for on the envelope - cute huh?

Nothing fancy - cute papers, some stitching, coloring with Copics, a couple flags and that's it - Stella's pretty darn cute all by herself!

The sentiment on the inside comes with this image and makes me giggle, it says "A pat on the back is only a few inches from a kick in the A@*!"!

Thanks for stopping in; have a great day!

Hugs,

Fresh Brewed

Welcome back to another week at Cupcake Inspirations.

We are sponsored this week by:
Our inspiration cupcake for this week (yeah, some of you are serious Starbucks lovers, eh?):

Whereas me? I haven't found a drink yet at Starbucks that I need/want/desire. :( Guess it saves me a few pennies right? But I do love those little cupcakes though, they look divine!

So I'm using one of the images from Fresh Brewed- LOVE. THIS. CUP. so much. I wish I had a printer at home, I would have LOVED to paper piece several parts of the cup...but I don't, so my coloring had to see me through!

The layout is Jen's SFYTT and the colors are inspired by CR84FN. I actually have another card using Jen's SFYTT, but I haven't shown it yet - maybe later this week - it's an ALL-AMERICAN card!!!

Doesn't that sentiment make you giggle (I have had too much caffeine...I can't even blink)?

Thanks for popping in - I truly appreciate your visit!

Hugs,

Hello Sunshine...

Hi friends,

I have a confession...are you ready? I have an addiction... An addiction to the Olympics - OH MY LORDY...!!!...

I started this card yesterday but just could not draw myself away from the TV - so many events we love - gymnastics, swimming - CAN YOU SAY MICHAEL PHELPS - sand volleyball, volleyball, tennis, diving, synchronized diving - you name it, we love it!  :D

But I forced myself to do some chores this morning, slip downstairs to finish this card, get it posted and then...yeah, back to my addiction I'm afraid. LOL

I used Jen's August Sketch For You To Try for this week's Cupcake Inspiration. Here's the fab inspiration photo:

And this week we are sponsored by:

I used an image I've had for quite some time from Repeat Impressions - beautiful sunflower (did you notice the center of the sunflowers above? OREO cookies - delightful!).

I stamped the image on Rustic White card stock, colored with Copics and added some clear Sakura sparkle to the center of the Sunflower; lots of layering with black and Summer Sunrise, some machine stitching and some black brads.

That's it - thanks for popping in!

... you are my sunshine ...

Hugs, ~M.

Hello Cupcake

I'm back...with another birthday card for ME! Yeah, I'm probably the only adult that LOVES my birthday...although this year is a bit different, not sure why. Maybe just too much stress in my life right now.

That's okay - this too shall pass and I'm certain you aren't here to hear about my stress!

:D

I was able to create for the sheer pleasure of creating this past weekend! Yeah - that's always fun. I used Jen's July Sketch For You to Try and MFT's Pure Innocence Hello Cupcake. She's pretty cute! I paper-pieced her dress, added a little flag at the bottom, scrunched some ribbon - AND this time I applied the Glossy Accents (heart in her hair and to the cherry) before I took pictures! Yeah me!! You might be able to see it in the close-up picture?

I also drew in some socks for her to wear - not that you can see them very well! And really, IRL, the ribbon matches much better than these pictures!

Thanks for popping in; hope you have a great week!

Hugs, ~M.

More Mr. & Mrs!

Goodness, this makes 4 wedding cards in the last few weeks - I'm telling you, it's the summer of weddings! I cannot believe all the weddings...let's hope the weddings I know about in my 'neck of the woods' are not outside in this 100+ degree temps - it's H-O-T...my makeup would melt right off me (and I'd stink I'm afraid - not a laughing matter on your BIG day)!!

Anyway - this wedding is sky blue with accents of black, so we went the clean and simple route with lots of layers and few girly frills! I used Jen's SFYTT; I love that I had organza ribbon to overlay across the dress so you could still see it - I love this image, and have NO CLUE who makes it! It's on a wooden block, but no manufacturer information is included - I use it almost every single time I make a wedding card!

I added some light shading to the dress; the flowers around the waist are blue and then the dress is accented with some small pearls. The heart was punched twice; once in white, once in black. Both the dress and the swirl are embossed in black - love the raised 3D effect embossing creates. The heart is up on dimensionals as is the circle the dress is stamped on. More stamping and hearts on the inside carrying the color theme throughout.

Thanks for stopping by!

PS - my little red returns from New Jersey tonight; I leave in about 45 minutes to pick him up - YIPPEE SKIPPY!!!

PPS - thanks MOM for traveling with him; you so richly bless our lives!

Hugs,

Cupcake Inspiration #159

Happy Sunday peeps - hope you are all well!!

This week we are sponsored by:

Our inspiration cupcake for this week:

All these cupcakes remind me of my Spirograph game I had when I was young - SO LOVED THAT GAME! But I was continually drawn to the flowers and so wanted to make more flowers using 14 count Aida cloth (thanks Queenie Poo for the idea)!! So, that's what I set off to do!

I used Jen's Sketch for You To Try for May - it's a good one; be sure to check it out!  I used some really old My Mind's Eye Paper (Quite Contrary) for some bright and fun colors - not to mention fab florals and polka dots (ahhhh...delightful)!!

I actually have 2 layers of the Fine Linen; the bottom layer is the base card; the top layer is a bit smaller and embossed with large polka dots from Cuttlebug embossing folder.

After cutting the flowers out, I spritzed them with Pink Cadillac Glimmer Mist, added some machine stitching, some faux glass beads, fun ribbon and even a scallop on the inside cut from Aida cloth.

I made this into a Mother's Day card using Verve Visual's Because of You Stamp Set  (You have been my inspiration, my confidante, my friend. Because of you I've learned to love, to forgive, and to live a life filled with purpose.).

TFL! Hope you have a great day!!

I Toadily Love You...

I'm slow but FINALLY finished my card for Cupcake Inspirations - I'm telling you - these toads are just adorable! Our inspiration cupcakes:

I used Jen's fantastic sketch found HERE with lots of green and red to match the little toads AND I used brads - I haven't used brads since 1999 (wow - throwback! - LOL).

Image is colored with Copics; inside contains digital sentiment, also from our sponsor (Robyn's Fetish Digital Images) and die from MFT Stamps. The base card is Kraft with another layer of Kraft embossed with Cuttlebug Dots and sponged with PTI Fresh Snow Ink (<3)! I added stitching to each of the color panels on the front.

And see those "RED" brads? They were originally yellow, I colored them red with my copics - thank goodness, because I own ZERO red brads! LOL

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great weekend!

Happy "Virtual" Birthday Wendy!

First my post doesn't load; then when I try to load it from my phone, I lose everything - plus I misspell a word and can't get back to correct it - OY!!!

But alas, before we walk out the door for an all-day volleyball tournament, here's the card I made for Wendy!! Hope your b-day was joy-filled!!
