Hugs - positive stencil

Hi there! Remember THIS card; well here is the positive use of the die and I really like this card. I used the inks from Altenew (LagoonVolcano Lake and Mountain Mist) to create the ombre effect. I also cut the hugs from white card stock and Tim Holtz Mini Foam (that stuff is seriously sticky!!!); I sponged the bottom of the hugs with the same inks. Once again, some left over flowers and leaf from a previous project and the same subtitle as previous. Check out the previous post for additional details.

Thanks for stopping by; I love when you visit!

Hugs,

Hugs - die as a stencil

I was recently inspired by Taylored Expressions video on Instagram using the negative and positive from a die so I had to try my hand at something similar! The link above is to their IG page; scroll down a ways...it's the 'love' and 'hello' card video. I used PTI's Bold Bolders: Polka Dots cover plate from Neenah 110 lb. card stock. I adhered the panel to a piece of Aqua Mist card stock with removable adhesive and sponged on 3 different colors of ink: Lagoon, Volcano Lake and Mountain Mist. Once I was happy with the sponging, I removed the positive die and set it aside (come back next week to see the card made with the positive die - it's my favorite card of the two. :D)!

I then die cut the word hugs from Hawaiian Shores card stock along with some Tim Holtz Mini Foam (that stuff is seriously sticky!!!) for fun dimension. I embossed a sub-sentiment also on Hawaiian Shores and mounted it altogether. The flowers were left over from a previous project but they were the perfect finishing touch to a pretty straightforward simple card!

Don't forget to stop in next week to see the positive die cut and finished card.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great weekend. And if you're a momma - to the human-kind or furry-kind, HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

Hugs,

Hey, Gorgeous - Take II

Hi friends! I'm back with another fun Hey, Gorgeous card! This one I'm using for the Mix It Up Challenge (Anything Goes or Mixed Media) for May - YES MAY; how did we get here!! :D

This card is for an older lady who recently had to relocate to an assisted living facility; she is quite spunky and loves red, so my friend wanted to send a card to let her know she was thinking of her. I did some water color ink smooshing (my favorite way to water color - HA); embossed some heart shaped sunglasses (The Ton Sunnies); I wish I would have 'colored' the lenses with a gray, but alas, I did not - but I did add glossy accents, and that looks cool.

I splattered on some black and white paint and once dry began assembly. I die cut the word HEY (The Stamp Market) 3 times and layered together; I added 2 layers of clear wink of stella and then situated the sunglasses within the word adding the white heat embossed hey gorgeous banner to the tail of the Y.

Once I put the card together, I wanted something to tie in the liquid platinum sunglasses, so I coated a piece of white card stock with VersaMark and embossed two coats of the liquid platinum; goodness,  love that color! Hopefully she will get a kick out of the card and it will bring a smile to her face.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you will join us at the Mix It Up Challenge this month; we love seeing your creations!

Hugs,
