Another Don't Sweat!

Another super quick "don't sweat" birthday card. As you can see, the top says "Don't sweat getting older!". When you pull the insert out, it says "Oh, those are hot flashes? Sorry!" I really like that saying!

I accented this card with a Blooming with Happiness b-day cake colored with Stampin' Up markers in Pink Passion, Green Galore and a bit of a softer pink (don't remember which one). I colored in the cake plate with a pretty silver gel pen. Isn't it springy...and funny? I layered the cake on an Oval Scalloped Punch by Marvy - I love their clever lever punches!!!

Lots more cards to show you soon; keep checking back! Thanks for peeking in; have a great week! ~M.

Don't sweat getting older!

Oh yes, I'm still working on an assortment of cards for a friend; I was rather stumped one night and finally 'worked' (get it, she's working out) this one together. LOL!

The base is SU's Cool Caribbean Long Notes; layered with SU patterned paper which was dry embossed with a Cuttlebug folder. I lightly highlighted the dry embossing with Cool Caribbean ink. Colored my little bella chick (barbella) and added the other pieces. The outside says "Don't sweat getting older!"...the inside says "Oh, those are hot flashes? Sorry!". CRACK ME UP; I love it! The sayings are from Hambo Stamps (click HERE); I got some other great sayings from Hambo; cannot wait to use them!

Hope you like Ms. Barbella; thanks for stopping by. Have a great hump day! ~M.

Purple Roses

This is another Arturo card in Lavender - they have the felt finish - it's just so soft! The roses are from Stampin' Up's Roses in Winter set - just purchased. :)

I used Lavender Lace and Lovely Lilac to stamp the various roses. The outside says "may your day bloom with happiness"; the inside says "Happy Birthday". The ribbon is 2-sided; soft lavender on one side and dark purple on the other; it matches the card great IRL.

Today was Memorial Day - did you have the day off? I was off work Friday, so I had to work today; but my boss was kind enough to let me leave at 4 p.m. Ah....nice little perk! The kids are officially out of school...and in less than 3 days they are complaining they are bored. Imagine that! LOL!

Thank you to all those that have served or are currently serving in our Armed Forces. And a mondo thank you to those that gave their life for our freedom! May God richly bless you!

Hope you have a great week - thanks for peeking in! ~M.

Another Glittery Butterfly

The base pink card is beautiful in color...and the inside of the card is white; I LOVE that! This is another butterfly stamp from the "Butterfly Kisses" set by PAPERTREYink (click here). I added glitter to the wings of the butterfly, but in the body of the butterfly I added 3 small rhinestones (see other picture).

The bottom portion of the card is more of the Basic Grey paper and I again used 3 different fibers around the card. I really like these colors together...in fact, I want a chocolate and pink blouse to wear to work! :) I'm lovin' that color combo and it's such a hot combo right now.

How's your week going? I hope great; we're halfway home to Friday. Thanks for peeking in, take care. ~M.

Another Year Without Croaking?

Isn't Mr. Toad cute? LOL! I purchased these assorted note cards about a month ago and finally got around to using one. I know, I know, I tend to hoard things!

The note cards were purchased from Ellen Hutson (click here); they are so soft! They have a felt finish and measure 5" by 3 1/4" when folded. This is the Celadon color - pretty huh? I added the striped paper at the bottom and used my Heidi Swapp distresser on all 4 edges - makes the edges soft like the actual card.

Stamped Mr. Toad on Whisper White and colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Odorless Mineral Spirits. I then layered it on a So Saffron Scalloped Punch and mounted on the card with dimensionals.

The inside says "You made it another year without croaking?" Great for birthdays OR teachers! Now that I've been away from the card for a few days, I might add a bit of ribbon or something to spiffy it up a bit.

Thanks for peeking in; hope you're having a great week! ~M.

Happy Harmony Thanks

I am soooo behind on making some cards for my sister-in-law! I've really just got to work this week on her order; so as others request a particular card, I just make an extra one and adhere the 'saying' for what she needs. :)

Click on the picture to get a better, close-up view!

Guess that's one way to get them done; hopefully she won't disown me before I get her order done!!!

This card is so soft and pretty IRL. It's all muted pinks and greens and the white polka dots on the scalloped circle and the ribbon really brings out the white in the top layer.

Thanks for peeking in; I hope you have a great week and if you have an extended weekend for Memorial Day - ENJOY! Life is much too short!

{{{hugs}}}

Butterfly Kisses

My first time using this stamp set! I LOVE how this card turned out; the picture certainly doesn't do it justice!!!

The butterfly is from Papertrey Ink; they just started making clear stamps and these are incredible. I made two identical cards...everything identical except the butterfly I used. Check out their stamp set at http://www.papertreyink.com/stamps_butterflykisses.html. The saying on the front "From the Heart" is from Stampin' Up.

I added dazzling diamonds to the body and wings of the butterfly; I made the 'trail' (dots) behind the butterfly with SU's Chocolate Chip marker. I love the way this card turned out - made two of them in about 45 minutes.

Thanks for stopping by; have a great night!

~M.

Card Details:
Card: SU Chocolate Chip base; layered with SU Blush Blossom; the patterned paper is from Basic Grey's Blush 6x6 paper
"From the Heart" from SU stamped in Chocolate Chip
Butterfly stamp from Papertrey Ink
Dazzling Diamonds added to outline of butterfly and center
3 different fibers used

Diplomabella - CONGRATS

A friend of a friend is graduating this month from Wichita State University (WSU; their colors are black and gold) so I tried to use those colors while adding some bling. :) I'm so loving that bling thing!!

I also added dazzling diamonds to Ms. Diplomabella
's collar and the roses...can't really see it on the roses, but it looks great IRL. The inside says "U did it!".

Both Diplomabella and "U did it!" were purchased from www.stampingbella.com.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you're having a great week! ~M.

With Sympathy

My dearest friend lost her father last week; he was 92 years old. Doesn't matter how old they are, the loss still hurts deeply. Her father suffered from Alzheimer's, so it's been a long time since his been 'dad'; but she visited him regularly, chatted and sang to him - whether he remembered her or not. Alzheimer robs so much life from so many; but I know his family still cherishes the time God gave him upon this earth.

His funeral was a true celebration of his life; singing his favorite songs, train whistles blowing (he LOVED trains) and many of his children either speaking or wrote something to be read during the service. Still...the loss is deep and hurts forever!

I made this card for my dear, dear friend. Her dad loved bright colors...so I made a bright card! The white card is on Lovely Lilac paper and I added some 'bling' to the center of each flower. The flowers on the left-hand side going vertical are actually the envelope - I thought the flowers matched up pretty nice.

Thanks for peeking in; I hope you have a great week. And don't forget to say "I love you" to all those that are important in your life...life is much too short! ~M.

Mother's Day

UPDATE: 10:41 p.m. CST

One more to show you....I actually made two; but I like how this one turned out! The flowers are stamped on white shimmery paper and then colored with crayons and Odorless Mineral Spirits. Of course, you can't see the 'shimmer' in the picture, but it makes the flowers very pretty IRL.

Sleep tight!

Mother's Day is quickly approaching and I'm not quite ready!! Imagine that! :)

But, I do have a few of these cards made up; two of them have 3D flowers attached, vase and all - those are actually magnets that can be removed and used later - how cool is that? I'll be busy making more cards today and hope to sell a few this week.

The card without the flower shows all the pieces to the card; the envelope is bright green; then the inside card is a pocket with a scalloped piece that pulls out. Of the two with magnetic flowers, the scalloped pieces say "The flowers of kindness you’ve given bloom again with every memory."; the other says "Mother, hope this day outblooms them all!".

I hope each of you have a great Sunday; thanks for peeking in! ~M.

Happy, happy Saturday!!!

This is a card we made recently at a stamp camp; isn't it cute? The colors are not my norm, but I love stepping out of my comfort zone! The saying on the front is "The secret to having it all is believing you already do." Love that saying; so true!

Hope you each have a fantastic weekend! We have a very busy one - 3 soccer games today, not to mention the normal weekend stuff - laundry, house cleaning, more laundry, getting caught up on some much needed sleep, more laundry...well, you get the point!

Thanks for peeking in, take care!! ~M.
