Color Throwndown 744 Round II

Greetings - I love the colors in the Color Throwdown this week: grey, kraft, pink, and white; not to mention, that bunny is downright adorable too!!

And since you can't upload 2 cards from the same 'link'; I did two posts and copied the information for both posts!

I created two cards, one with a bright pink and one with a more vintage-y feel; both fun! But...not gonna lie, super sad I lost a few of the teeny tiny dies from the Takes the Cake die set. 😟 UGH!

I cut all the pieces a few times so I could mix and match

I cut the cake stand from MFTs Silver Shine cardstock, the designer papers have been in my stash for ages - love when I can put the bits and pieces to use!

The outer border was cut using two of the Pink and Main A2 layered rectangle dies; again patterned paper from the same 'stash' as the cake. For this background, I used the Delightful Digits from The Greetery and lightly inked the edges with Mocha from Taylored Expressions, to soften the starkness of the white, I added a layer of vellum - love how that turned out! And I have had these dew drops in my stash forever; they range from clear to a dark orange, so the soft pink and clear ones were perfect. Sentiment is from Taylored Expressions, Simple Strips - Birthday; I have these sentiments already emobossed on kraft - shown here, as well as black and a dark gray; love having them available.

I added a layer of glossy accents to the 'chocolate frosting', then added dots to the 'white puffs' and sprinkled on distress rock candy glitter.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you've had a great Memorial weekend!

Hugs!

I cut all the pieces a few times so I could mix and match but I definitely couldn't resist using this Cotton cardstock from Erin Lee Creative - so delightfully sparkly which is perfect for frosting!

The outer boarder was a 'leftover' on my desk; you can't see, but it actually has the tiniest silver foil running through it - I think it was an arch maybe, that covers 3 of the sides, honestly can't  remember! HA!

The whirly background is from SSS; I added some mocha ink from Taylored Expressions. The banner was handcut. I think THESE sequins are my hands-down favorite, they go with everything! And that cake looks yummy!!

Thanks for stopping by; hope you've had a great Memorial weekend!

Love to Scrap - May (Anything Goes)

 Hi friends!

Before we even begin, lets take a look at that GORGEOUS new banner over on the Love to Scrap blog; did you see it? 😍 The amazing Donna created it and I think it's gorgeous!!

OK, back to business! 😀  As always, our challenge is ANYTHING GOES, won't you join us and share your creation?

I'm still sharing lots of Christmas cards; these two took some time with the die cutting, sponging, coloring of the birds and creating the backgrounds, but so worth it.

I LOVE this little mini bird from Papertreyink. I've watched so many of Dawn Woleslagel's YouTube videos which always inspires me to try different things with watercolor. And the pine cones and branches from The Greetery have been a favorite for several years; frames are from The Greetery too.

LOTS and lots of glossy accents and rock candy to make it all shiny and sparkly, along with some pretty sequins! I used a white gel pen for the bird's eye. Adhered all the die cuts together, found a layout I liked and glued everything to the card base. The center panel on each card is mounted with fun foam to give it a tiny bit of dimension.

I hope you join us this month, we would love to see your creations!

MIUCB - Anything Goes + Embossing (Dry or Heat)

Hi friends, how's it going?

Have you seen the create in quad stencils from Taylored Expressions? There are several in the store; I used the Peaceful Pines stencil and made some really fun, colorful panels. Love this color combo; pretty sure I saw it used at a crafty camp I attended.

Our theme this month at Mix It Up is always Anything Goes, but you can add embossing - dry or heat, this month. I LOVE this embossing powder, it has been my fave for quite some time and is what I used on the vellum for the greeting! It always embosses so beautifully!

I used the final stencil and added Decofoil Duo Gel and then added foil using the mini minc machine (I sadly do not remember which foil I used 🙈).

I sponged the edges with a light pink, mounted on some gold matte cardstock and a bright pink notecard. So cheery, IMHO.

I hope you join us this month, we would love to see your creations!
