What have YOU been up to?

Ah...today is Monday and normally I would be at work. BUT I took today off to 'deep clean' the house; urgh...doesn't that make you gasp! Alas, I even had a partner to work with me on this 'deep cleaning' business but fortunately her daughter got sick. Uh wait...I mean UNFORTUNATELY her daughter got sick - fortunately for me - I threw that dumb idea of deep cleaning out the window and headed downstairs to play!
I did two of these cards; just alike...well...no two cards are ever alike, but you get the idea!

The saying I printed from my computer; everything else is by Stampin' Up. You can't really see, but the background ivory paper has these soft dots of Blush Blossom and the edges of the large floral piece have been sponged with Blush Blossom.

I love when I have an idea and it comes together quickly!

I've made several other things too; but those must wait...for now, DH and I are headed to the eye doctor. I've worn glasses/contacts FOREVER, but now that he's over 40; he can't see. tee hee OK, I know it's not funny; and he has to have great vision for the work he does, but I get tickled when he needs to take a splinter out of one of our babes feet and he says "let me borrow your glasses, I can't see"...so he'll try my glasses, he still can't see, then he'll try our oldest daughter's glasses...still can't see; so mom (that's me); gets called in to assist in the small procedure. :) We'll all be fixed up soon though!
Thanks for stopping by to have a peek; have a great week and watch for some new things to be added to the blog soon!

Another CD Case Note Card Holder

Here is another CD Case filled with stationery for a co-worker. This one is made with my new Stampendous "Sassy Silhouette" stamps.
There are 5 small (3x3") gift cards w/matching envelopes and then 10 larger note cards (4.25x4.25") within the CD Case. I have 2 more of these to make and I'm well on my way to having those done...but I had to stop and venture another path tonight...I have something new and exciting up my sleeve for Valentine's Day.

The CD case is white; the main colors are SU Pixie Pink, SU Green Galore with misc. patterned paper. The outside Sassy Girl has diamond stickles on her fur and so does the dog - they're so stinking cute! Thanks for stopping by to take a peek; hope you have a great day!

*NEW* Sassy Girls

I received my new Sassy Girl stamps by Stampendous from Addicted to Rubber Stamps today (and oh am I addicted)!!!

This one is called "Sassy Belle"; the card came together really easy; I like everything but the dots down the right hand side. :( But still, I thought it turned out okay.

There are several layers to this card; the base card is Stampin' Up's Pixie Pink card stock layered with floral paper (not sure of maker); then layered with Whisper White. Then the striped paper is torn and fitted to the left-hand side of the white card; ribbon is tied on and adhered with mini glue dots.

The scalloped circle is punched with the Marvy Giga Scallop Punch and then I punched small holes in each scallop. This is layered with the striped paper and then Ms. Sassy Belle is stamped on Pixie Pink. You can't tell from the scan, but her shirt is highlighted with a clear gel pen. The Pixie Pink is edged in white ink too. The dots and "so cute" are rub-ons I've had forever.

I'm working to quit hoarding things and actually USE THEM. LOL I've found it funny how many other creators seem to hoard things whether it be paper, brads, flowers, etc.

Thanks for stopping by; I hope you each have a great weekend!

Color Challenge

I participated in SplitCoast Stampers color challenge today. We were to use Pale Plum, Close to Cocoa and Sage Shadow....well, I got 2 out of the 3...does that count <**wink**>! I like the way it turned out. The flower is a Heidi Snapp Mini Mask sponged in Pale Plum. I also outlined all of the flower with a pink/purplish gel pen. Hard to tell from the picture; but it really gave the flower dimension in real life! The quote says: "The way to know life is to love many things. ~ Vincent Van Gogh".

Nice, muted colors; but still elegant I think.

Thanks for stopping by; have a great evening!

CD Holder for Notecards

WHEW - I've been busy!

I totally CASE'd this from genie1314 of Splitcoast Stampers - I LOVE her sassy notes!

A friend asked me to make some gifts for her son's teacher; he attends a local Christian school and our oldest daughter had this same teacher when she attended the school. This teacher has also recently undergone a complete hysterectomy due to ovarian cancer - so she has lots of things to celebrate.

I've made several gifts and already handed them over (Jayhawk candle in a tin, Jayhawk candy bag, horse candy bag, stamped candle); but this one has been rolling around in my head (hear all that noise - lol) for a day or so; just glad I got a chance to work on it. I really like it!

The paper is all by Stampin' Up, it's their "Love Me" Designer Paper - I love it! It's two-sided and perfect for so many things. All the stamps are also from Stampin' Up "For Goodness Sakes".

The CD Case is a bit odd sized and I didn't have the 'right size' envelopes....rather than buying some, I decided to make little notecards that the teacher can write on and send home to parents or to co-workers, or whatever her heart desires.

There are 8 notes cards, 4 on each side of the CD Holder and a matching prayer journal with the teacher's first name punched out.

The scalloped and circle punches are BRAND NEW and I COULD NOT WAIT to use them! <*wink*> In fact, I put them to use the first night I received them - they are both the Clever Lever by Marvy.

I purchased the punches from Frantic Stamper (no relation, she just has great products, prices and is a joy to work with); the CD cases were ordered from http://www.blissweddingsmarket.com/ (exact link is http://www.blissweddingsmarket.com/store/000058.htm).

Hope you enjoy; thanks for stopping by to take a peek!

KU Good Luck Card

My boss at work is moving on to another opportunity so I made a Good Luck tri-fold card. The inside actually has a pocket with movie gift certificates. His favorite past time is going to the movies - so it was an easy gift. He's also a KU grad; hence the colors.

I've had the idea for the card rolling around in my head all day - finally got a chance to put it together tonight. The red border on the white card stock is hand-drawn - just doodling...I've seen so many people try it, thought I'd see how it goes. LOL! The ribbon is threaded through the back of the card and wraps around to tie in the front.

I have a great working relationship with my boss - and we joke alot, but I always know where I stand. Trust me, he dishes just as much back to me; so on the back of the envelope flap, I used my ornery stamp, it says:

"This card was made by hand. If you throw it away those same hands will make a doll in your image and stick pins in its butt."

Thanks for looking; have a great night!

Criss-Cross Cards

These cards have been such a hit with customers! Not a lot of stamping on these; just lots of pretty paper, cutting and folding. The inside part is just plain so you can write on both sides. These samples are all being used as "Thank You" notes for Christmas gifts. We really wanted some pretty blue, silver, snowflakes...something along those lines...but I never found any really pretty 2-sided paper. Yes...I could have stamped and stamped and stamped and made the pretty paper; but it was just easier to buy it! :) Sometimes even I find the easiest route! lol

Happy New Year!
