This weeks prize is kindly donated by Di's Digi Designs.
One randomly selected winner will receive a $12 voucher to spend in store.

Remember earlier this week I shared THIS creation with you? And remember I mentioned making TWO of these gift sacks? Well, this was the perfect opportunity to share the other one as there is lots of different texture on this sack.

Again, the sack is 7.5" x 5"; I folded up a small portion at the bottom and stitched around 3 sides then I added lots of various designer paper from MME (LOVE), yellow isn't a color I use often but have to admit, I really like how this turned out!

I added a polka dot border from Verve Visual's scalloped trim border die across the top of the bag. On the bottom, I took a WHITE arrow and colored it with a N7 Copic marker for a grayish/black color; then I added hearts using modeling paste. Once the hearts were completely dry, I colored them lightly/gently with a yellow Copic.

The tag is cut from Memory Box; I cut it twice from Kraft card stock; covered one side with yellow paper and left the back blank so a handwritten note could be added. I then die cut the rose from MFT's Rose Overlay Die from some musical designer paper and sponged heavily with vintage photo distress ink. I then cut the overlay from black card stock and added clear Wink of Stella, not once, but twice. GREAT sparkle IRL. I also added 3 leaves from MFT's Layered Leaves. The "Happy Birthday" is a rub-on.

And that's a wrap! Hope you will join us at Crafts 4 Eternity and show us your creations made with TEXTURE! TFL; hope you have a great weekend!

2 pocket gift sack

I soooo love making these gift bags; so much fun! They are 5" x 7.5"; I just fold up a small portion at the bottom and stitch the sides and the bottom, then there is a small pocket at the bottom where I place the little insert and then a larger pocket at the top where the tissue paper is. I made 2 the same night, COMPLETELY different colors, I'll show the other one later this week.

This one  uses some scraps of paper, fun/funky colors...and washi tape...and that little clothespin and a partial doily... :D Lots of good things tossed on there!

For some reason when I stitched this time, my sewing machine was not playing nice at all so I added a piece of designer paper to the back. The tag is from Memory Box, I cut it twice, covered one side with DP then left the back nice and clean so you can add a message. Added a Tim Holtz ticket which I distressed; it is layered onto a spritzed doily and then held on with a mini "hello" clothespin that I painted red with my Copic markers. I added a Verve Visual's Award Banner die; I cut it a 2nd time from hot pink card stock and inserted the circles into the blue banner. Also added a strip of polka dot washi tape at the bottom.

Full tag shown

Thanks for stopping by; hope you'll visit again later this week when I show you the 2nd back in completely different colors!

Crafts 4 Eternity - Steampunk

Oh lordy - I'll start by admitting I had no clue what "steampunk" even was...had to do some research and learned a few things along the way. OK, here's the fun information on the challenge and below are some tidbits on my creation!!
sassy studio designs
This week prize is kindly donated by Sassy Studio Designs.
One randomly selected winner will receive  4 images from their fabulous collection.

This week Crafts 4 Eternity would like you to share any project with a Steam Punk theme. So come on, join the fun!!
This bike image was purchased from Etsy, isn't it adorable? It was actually printed on Copic XPress It paper - pure white! I distressed it significantly with Vintage Photo and Frayed Burlap distress inks.
I colored some modeling paste with Espresso dimensional pearls and used Tim Holtz's faded dots stencil for the background then I litterally 'threw' on some chocolate glitter mist - GREAT random pattern. I distressed the edges with ink and with a paper distressor for those frayed edges.

Last additions were some gears from Tim Holtz, a couple wood veneer pieces which I colored with Copics and a little sticker which says "travel"; the inside says "enjoy life" within the circle you see.  Thanks for stopping by; hope you enjoyed my venture into the steampunk realm!! :D

Out of the Norm

NO...not me silly!! :D

I don't normally post too much personal stuff on here but now that I've started well trying to start project life, you may see a few more things here and there but I promise to stay focused mainly on crafts...cuz THAT'S what keeps this momma sane!!

Our oldest daughter has a lead part in the high school play this weekend, "Dearly Departed", last play for her as she graduates in May. Anywho, the parents will provide treats for 'intermission' at both performances. I have a co-worker that bakes ALL. THE. TIME. - seriously, so she shared two of her favorite recipes and I wanted to share them with you! I have personally taste tested the Monster Cookies and they are HEAVENLY!!

So here you go; hope you will try them!! If you do, let me know what you think:

Monster Cookies

3 eggs
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
3/4 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. light corn syrup
2 tsp. baking soda
1 stick margarine/butter, softened
1 1/2 cup peanut butter
4 1/2 cup oatmeal
2/3 cup chocolate chips
2/3 cup M&M's

Mix in order, drop by teaspoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten slightly and bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.

Toffee Grahams

24 square graham crackers
2 sticks butter/margarine (softened)
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Preheat oven to 325 to 350 degrees. Arrange cracker squares on a lightly greased cookie sheet with edges around it. In a saucepan, bring the butter and sugar to a boil and boil for 2 minutes. Pour over crackers, covering them well. Sprinkle with nuts and bake for about 10 minutes. Cool slightly and cut into 24 squares or 48 "fingers".

ENJOY!

Floral Delights 3 - Flowers Galore

Hi friends!

Oh what great flowers we have in store for you - pop over to Ladybug Crafts Ink for a sneak peek at all the beautiful images! There are a total of 12 new images, £1.75 each. AND just for leaving us a comment telling us which floral image from the new release is your favorite , someone will win 4 free digis of their choice.

I was so inspired by this greeting card (4" x 6") in my new Studio Calico kit...aren't those colors delicious! And I thought it was a very retro look for my new retro flowers - what do you think?
Studio Calico 'greeting card' to Sugar Rush kit
Very simple little card with lots of color! The 3 large flowers were cut and colored a 2nd time and popped up with dimensionals, I also added white enamel dots to the center of each flower. The main image is mounted onto an embossed oval - kinda of hard to see, but the embossing somewhat mimics the design of the SC paper. The polka dots within the image are colored from light to dark in pinks...but truly hard to see in the photos. :(

I added the 3 strips diagonally to mimic the lines of the vase. Image was colored with Copics, added some doodling around the edges and a sentiment from PTI's Round and Round set.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you enjoy all the flowers we have for you. :D Don't forget to leave a comment and tell us your favorite!!

Sketch Layout - Crafts 4 Eternity

Hi friends!!

This week at Crafts 4 Eternity we have a sketch challenge; it's an easy, yet fun one - hope you join us! Play along showing us YOUR take on the sketch challenge and you could win 3 digital images from Crafts 4 Eternity!

I have just started Project Life (pocket scrap booking); anyone else on the bandwagon? Yeah, to say I've just started is a pretty gross understatement - I have one layout done... :-/ But that's okay, I'm working on it and maybe before my kids are all grown and gone, I'll have some memories for them. HA!!

You know, I originally started with scrap booking but somewhere along the line I found instant gratification in greetings cards. That was the end of scrap booking...and documenting their lives. Yikes! Hoping Project Life is the perfect kick in the patootie I need.

So...in an effort to still get my stamping and creative fix, I altered a PL 4x6 card with this hilarious picture of our girls. We were shopping late one night and they decided to have a little fun - even the cashier got in on the fun, she said "don't hurt her, there are cameras watching you." LOL!

Can you see the sketch within? It's there, I promise! :D

Some super fun MME papers, lots of washi tape, some enamel dots and a word rub on. The word "silly" was originally white but didn't show up too well, so I colored it pink with Copics, added glossy accents and sprinkled on some glitter. Pretty simple and straightforward.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you'll join us over at Crafts 4 Eternity, we love seeing your creations! Have a great weekend.

Wags 'n Whiskers - BINGO

Hi there, happy Friday!!

This week at Wags 'n Whiskers, we are playing bingo - hope you will join the fun!! Just for playing along, one person will win a FREE Wags 'n Whiskers stamp! Here's our bingo layout:
I did pretty good; I ultimately hit 6 of the 9 boxes, not bad! :D I was actually going diagonal and using "pink, heart, and red."

I used Ellie and Squeak...but omitted Squeak (on purpose, don't tell anyone...mmm...kkkk???)! I covered Ellie's party hate with some heart balloons - LOVE - I'm really in to heart balloons, can you tell?

I covered the balloons with 2 coats of clear Wink of Stella and a thick layer of glossy accents....uh yeah, I NEVER let the glossy accents dry before I take pictures! (insert smacking head) Too impatient I guess! The glitter will look awesome once the glossy accents does dry!

I cut the image out using MFT's square pierced die and layered onto some fun Carta Bella paper; added some ribbon with 2 bows, some scrumptious twine and a sticker. I sewed around the DP with my Janome Sew Mini and that's it, pretty quick, easy but oh so cute I think.

Peak at the inside

Close up - Ellie even has sparkly toes (what girl doesn't want pretty toes - right?"

Thanks for popping in; hope you have a GREAT weekend and if you get the chance, join us over at Wags 'n Whiskers, you know we love seeing your creations!

Ladybug Crafts Ink - For The One I Love

Hi friends - how are you? We are currently buried in 7 inches of snow and it was still coming down when I returned home from work at 7:30 p.m. Wonder how much more we will get!?!

The Ladybugs are here this week showing cards "For The One I Love"; I used Numberless Billie Balloons BUT since its a fabby digi image, I covered the 'round' balloons with heart balloons - isn't that great? Well, I was going to show you the original Numberless Billie Bear but I don't see it on the website, I'll ask Queenie-Poo where it might be so you can see it.

ANYWHO; join the fun this week!! We love seeing your creations!

I colored Billie Bear and the balloons with Copics, added some Copic Opaque White to the balloons then coated them in 2 layers of glossy accents...yeah, that's why they are kind of cloudy, I didn't have the patience to wait for them to dry. HA!

The image is cut out with MFT's stitched circles and mounted onto a scalloped nestie. Added a fabby chipboard heart, a cute little arrow; then I stamped the words "just because" from Verve Visual's Sweet Treats onto some Basic Grey lined journal paper and cut each one into a flag.

Inside

Have you seen the newest trend of adding some "nest-like" thread behind your image? Yeah, instead of being last on trend, I decided to jump on early - HA HA!! Fun little addition to add some interest.

I used another piece of designer paper on the inside but then added Verve Visual's heart border die cut in red and blue; I inserted blue hearts inside the red border - takes a bit of time but super cute finishing touch.

Thanks for stopping by; can't wait to see what you create!
