Inky Antics Birthday Girls

Wow; we've had a busy weekend - what about you? Jared, our youngest, had a b-day party to attend yesterday and Alyssa, our oldest, has a combined b-day party to attend today! One of the girls is blonde; one is more brunette - so here are the cards I made.

I added stickles to the heart pillow on both cards; I love the way the stickles gives it that extra umph and sparkle!

The first card with polka dots is done on a beautiful cotton candy pink card from memory box. I added some white cardstock and the polka dot paper across the bottom...notice, I'm back to some doodling around the girl in the chair - isn't she a doll? I also doodled on the card I made for Jared to take yesterday - I'll show that one later! :)

What's so great about these cards? When those girls untie that ribbon; the girl in the chair folds back to reveal a *LIMITED TOO* gift card - WOO HOO!! Find me a girl that doesn't love shopping at Limited Too! I played off the polka dot colors for the girl and the chair. The stamp is from Inky Antics Monica Lee collection, I added the chocolate ribbon to finish it off.

The next card is done with stripes; the base card is certainly celery and this time I stamped the girl in the chair on some blush blossom cardstock, so I didn't have to color the chair - just the girl and her accessories. Can you find my error? :) Nah, I added the flower and cool rhinestone green brad to cover it up. The ribbon is a celery color also which came in an order from Ellen Hutson's store - she's the sweetest thing!!

Here's a close-up of each girl so you can see that extra sparkle on the pillows!!

Hope you've had a great weekend; now I'm off to finish my motherly duties...the LAUNDRY - urgh!!! Thanks for stopping by; it's great to have you visit!! ~M.

You look FABULOUS!!!

Oh yes, you do - you really do! :)

I'm still itching to have time to play; just working it in between football practice, volleyball practice and volleyball games. This was a quick card I made tonight with some new stamps from Inky Antics. I LOVE the images from Ronnie Walter and the girl is from the Monica Lee collection - so many fun things in all those collections!

The Designer Paper is by Stampin' Up called "Cutie Pie"; I really like it. Our 9 yr. old really likes it too. She designed a card for her teacher tonight while I was working on this one. She came to give me a kiss goodnight and said "I want to see that card when you're done, it looks cute"...ah...I'll take a compliment anywhere I can get it. ROFL!

I took a close-up of the girl as I added some stickles to the fringe of her shirt and purse - gives it that extra twinkle.I must admit, the quote is one of my favorite! "You look fantastic!" "Now you say it back to me!" Now THAT'S funny.

I still have some football pics. coming up - so don't forget to check back. Thanks for peeking in; hope you have a great week! ~M.

Meet the "OTHER" Member of our Family

Let me introduce Snowball! She's cute...and BIG compared to Patches. Check out the story on Patches...he's tiny...she's big.

Yep, Snowball is a GIRL and full-grown. THIS is what happens when you leave the men in charge. You never know what you might get...and finding out we got a girl when we already had a boy was NOT what momma had in mind! LOL!

Snowball belongs to our middle child, Kaitlyn. She LOVES playing with Snowball and takes great care of her...so here are lots of pictures letting you meet the newest girl in our family!

Check back later as I ask - "Are YOU ready for some football???". Thanks for peeking in; hope you have a superb week!

Cruisabella

I feel like it's been f-o-r-e-v-e-r since I have had an opportunity to stamp...I've been itching all week long to have some time!!!

I received my new Nestability Dies today; but alas, I don't have everything I need to use them yet. :( Well...you KNOW what that means - I had to go shopping! Ah...I feel better already!

Tonight was the ONLY night this week that we didn't have sports practice, or a game, or church, or SOMETHING. When DH arrived home I quickly disappeared to my craft room and began to play! It was such fun! I wanted to use designer paper and just play! I have some new tools...don't think I ended up using a single one of them; but don't worry, I'll still convince myself they were a great purchase. ROFL!

Nothing fancy; just had fun! I had not used Cruisabella yet; isn't she and her car cute? I got her from www.stampingbella.com; love her stuff! The "U Go Girl!" was stamped using some individual letters I got many, many moons ago. Her car was mainly colored with Aquacolors and OMS in retro colors - light turquoise and pink. Retro rocks!

Here's a close up of Cruisabella.
Thanks for stopping by; hope you are each having a marvelous week! Hugs, ~M.

Meet Patches!

I've finally got some new pictures that I really like of ONE of our TWO new family members. How does this happen? LOL

He's a guinea pig and belongs to our oldest - she saved her money to get him. :) Not sure how old he is; but he's not even close to being full-grown. This was taken tonight just before Alyssa went to bed; she was feeding him from her hands (duh, like the picture doesn't show that???).

I have one more picture to share, but let's talk about the 'funny' side of Patches. I am so much like my mom - don't like mice, hamsters, spiders, guinea pigs, etc...but obviously I broke down on the guinea pig. He's very cute - but I have yet to hold him and the kids know I'm not interested in holding him.

Our middle child wanted one too. Yeah - whatever. So...she e-mails her Grammy and asks how much is in her savings account and then proceeds to ask her Grammy to send her the $$$. So Grammy does - for some reason, grandparents forget to consult the parents to make sure this is okay.

Fine...got the check, I snatched it up and that was that. DH has a close friend that said "I wish I would have known you were getting one, I can get ALL THAT STUFF at cost"; so DH says "find out how much another one would cost"...please note; here is the IMMEDIATE problem. The men are in charge of this conversation.

Kaitlyn asks daddy a few times about the guinea pig and what the cost is, etc. So, we're driving to football practice for our youngest one night and DH calls. He says "how much did you want that guinea pig to cost?" I'm like huh? So he says it again and this sinking feeling takes place...oh yeah - we already have a 2nd guinea pig on the way to us.

We have no idea if it's a boy or a girl; we have no idea what size it is, we have no idea 'what' comes with it (cage, bedding, hiding/sleeping place, feeding bowl, water bottle.....).

So...are you getting the idea that momma here isn't too thrilled? Well...the guinea pig arrived, it's full grown AND A GIRL to boot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No, we ARE NOT having babies - trust me on this!

Ah...never leave the men in charge of these things - ha ha! I'll get some pictures of the new girl in our life (she's huge compared to Patches) and share more pictures soon.

For now...here's one more of Patches. Thanks for stopping by; have a great week. Hugs, ~M.

*NEW* dog stamp - Happy Birthday!

Isn't he/she SOOO cute? It's a brand new dog stamp (by Penny Black) I just got and I think it's adorable!

Our oldest daughter has a birthday party tomorrow, so this is the card I made.

The base card is SU's Certainly Celery layered with my brand new Salsa Celebration - Junk Padz paper; aren't those polka dots and stripes great? Love the bright colors!! I colored the dog with SU markers, Aquacolor Crayons and Odorless Mineral Spirits, then stamped the oval underneath to ground her. The green polka dot ribbon is from Michael's.

Here's a close-up of the little dog; I added a yellow jewel to the flower; fun bling. I wanted to add some stickles to the collar, but I haven't gotten that done yet. Hope all the girls have a great time at the birthday party. While you - I hope YOU have a great weekend! Thanks for peeking in! ~M.

Trio of Flowers

These are a couple of thank you cards I made; again, I used the ribbon as the inspiration for the colors. The ribbon is from Michael's; the base card is Certainly Celery stamped with French Script - I forget how much I like that background stamp! I stamped the Trio of Flowers (by Gina K Designs) with SU's Basic Black and colored with Aquacolor Crayons and Odorless Mineral Spirits.

I wanted each one to be a bit different so I added the ribbon in different ways and added a brad to one of the cards.Hope you're having a great weekend; thanks for stopping by! ~M.
