Pink Plus One

Hi friends,

Long time no see huh? I've had some crafty time lately but not enough to get things photographed and blogged about! :( Busy, busy time - I always think the beginning and end of each school year are pretty close to insanity! :D

This week over at Crafty Creations we are creating with Pink Plus One...this was a fun one and I went all psychedelic with this fab paper! I have had this paper for YEARS; it's in a small self-stick pad from DCWV; all the designer paper is from the same pad giving several different pinks to work with and black - FUN!

The flower was made from re-purposed tissue paper that has black and pink polka dots - how perfect is that? I actually edged them in a bright pink color but it sure looks off in the photo - BOO!! Sorry 'bout that!

The brad in the center is from MME and has been around for ages too. Yeah for using the stash! Layout is Deconstructed Sketch #99. I decorated the inside with plenty of room for writing a personal message. The white flag was hand cut, I stamped the sentiment and then used PTI's Polka Dot Basics to create my own range of polka dots in various colors and sizes.

Thanks for stopping by; words cannot express how much I appreciate your visit!

LCI - Red & White (St. George)

Well, I live on"this" side of the big pond and have NO CLUE what St. George's Day is, but in honor of it, Loveable Lisa chose the colors RED AND WHITE!

Yes, red and I white I can do as our daughter is a HUGE Boomer Sooner fan (yep, that's their colors), AND this little girl is turning 15 this weekend so I went in a totally different direction than the rest of the team (no surprise really - HA) and made her a little birfday card. Yes, birthdays are pronounced birfdays at my house!

Here's a picture of our youngest daughter this past weekend; she and her besties had a "photo shoot" on their bucket list, so for promotion, all the families went together and made the photo shoot happen - it was a complete blast. This picture was taken in our driveway, but the 'real' photos will be up on Facebook (Michele Hibler Greenwood or you can catch a few of the pics over on Instagram, whimsical_creations) if you want to watch for them. Anyway, this is her promotion dress; the first half of the photo shoot was in their dresses; the other half was casual outfits in which they all coordinated with the color "mint"; each girl wearing one article of clothing that was mint colored. Too cute!

OK, sorry - I obviously got mega distracted...so back to my card. I wanted to do something different than I've ever done before - so I embossed a sunburst from her age outward AND I did the ombre color effect - cool eh? I used Distress Inks for the ombre colors: Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Barn Door and Fired Brick. Love how it made the sunburst lines really pop!

The entire card was stamped with Sentimental Numbers - 70% off you fools (we call that cray, cray), but really, all cling stamps are 70% off right now!! Anywho, I stamped the large bubble numbers in PTI Pure Poppy and the smaller numbers in Memento Black. I stamped her age on a nestie, colored with Copics (in an ombre effect) and covered in glossy accents - tough to see the ombre effect, but its there.

Ta da - red and white; hope it fits the bill...for the Bugs and our daughter!! :D Join the fun, create a red and white card today and if you use a Ladybug Crafts Ink image, you increase your chances of winning! And if you don't have any? Well, don't forget, there are digis, but again, those cling stamps are all 70% off!

Have a great week; thanks for popping in!!

Hugs,

Is Spring here yet?

I hope we are officially done with winter; I know the calendar says "Spring" but our weather has been all over the map! In an effort to encourage spring-time, I created this card with spring-time colors. :D I'll try anything - LOL!

The layout is Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #181 (SSSC181); I used MFT's horizontal gift card die and a piece of washi tape for the flag in the sketch. Love me some washi tape, sad I came to the party so late - but better late than never, right? I embossed the gift card holder with small polka dots, stitched around the main panel and then zig zag stitched the flag.

I inserted a piece of card stock to represent a gift card, wouldn't this be a GREAT way to present your gift? What sweet friend, mom, daughter, sister wouldn't want to receive a gift card for shopping? :D Me, me, me!!!

TFL; hope you have a great week!

Hugs, ~M.

Toddlers,Teens and in Betweens - BIRTHDAYS!!

Hey, hey - don't forget, my birfday is coming up real soon - July 12. It's always important that I begin reminders early, so you have plenty of time to shop...if you need a list, I have one. Bwaaahahahaha

Yes, I haven't changed a bit when it comes to birfdays!! This week at Ladybug Crafts Ink we're celebrating birthdays for Toddlers,Teens and in Betweens - what fun - and the Bugs have prepared some amazing eye candy for you ranging from boys to girls to young to more mature (is that better than saying OLD, cuz Queen Whiplash MIGHT think I'm referring to her...). Just sayin'!!

I used adorable Robyn; I just love her - time and time again. I used MFT's sketch, fun little sketch!

Nothing fancy, stamping, coloring, embossing and some delightful seam binding from Verve Visual. I used the My Girl DP collection from MME with some matching enamel dots (pssttt....enamel dots are on my wish list)!! :D

I decorated the inside too. Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great week and we'll see you again soon!

Cupcake Inspirations 205 - Kenny K

Hi friends,

How are you? Anyone watching the Final Four tournament this weekend? We are!! Hubby and I moved to Kansas in 1991 and although I don't consider Kansas home, I do support the teams and to see Wichita State in the Final Four - AMAZING!!! I love all sports, so this is just a blast!

This week over at Cupcake Inspirations the image has lots of polka dots and I LOVE polka dots sooo much!! These cards were actually made before I had surgery (2/13/13), but decided it was a perfect time to show them as they have BIG polka dots! :D Nothing fancy, just stamping, cutting and embossing - I kept them CAS so I could make a set.

TFL; hope you will take the time to join us this week over at Cupcake Inspirations!

Hugs, ~M.

With Sympathy

Hi friends!

Guess what? I am slowly, oh so slowly beginning to create again and boy do I miss it! It's always been my 'down time', 'alone time', 'mommy time' (a/k/a leave me alone before I come unglued) - HA - that's not always true, but I'm sure most crafters can relate!!

I made all 5 of these cards the night before my surgery - so that would have been 2/12/13; they are all identical with LOTS of distressing and sponging. Pretty straight forward but lots of layers, gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous ribbon that was gifted to me by a very special "bug" and some jute twine. I have to admit, I don't mind making sympathy cards when I can make them in bulk and they aren't for a "specific" need - I should remember that!

The main image is "Upsy Daisy" from Stampin' Up - I've had it forever and have always loved it. The sentiment is from Verve Visual.

Set of 5 cards
These were for a customer and my girls dropped them off a few days after my surgery. Hope you enjoy; my inspiration came from a card I posted on my Pinterest account; unfortunately the owner didn't link to the specific post but MAYBE you can see the inspiration card by clicking HERE?!? If not, I did copy the image down below. :D

Thanks for popping in - hope to be back soon!

Hugs, ~M.
