Hugs - die as a stencil

I was recently inspired by Taylored Expressions video on Instagram using the negative and positive from a die so I had to try my hand at something similar! The link above is to their IG page; scroll down a ways...it's the 'love' and 'hello' card video. I used PTI's Bold Bolders: Polka Dots cover plate from Neenah 110 lb. card stock. I adhered the panel to a piece of Aqua Mist card stock with removable adhesive and sponged on 3 different colors of ink: Lagoon, Volcano Lake and Mountain Mist. Once I was happy with the sponging, I removed the positive die and set it aside (come back next week to see the card made with the positive die - it's my favorite card of the two. :D)!

I then die cut the word hugs from Hawaiian Shores card stock along with some Tim Holtz Mini Foam (that stuff is seriously sticky!!!) for fun dimension. I embossed a sub-sentiment also on Hawaiian Shores and mounted it altogether. The flowers were left over from a previous project but they were the perfect finishing touch to a pretty straightforward simple card!

Don't forget to stop in next week to see the positive die cut and finished card.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great weekend. And if you're a momma - to the human-kind or furry-kind, HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

Hugs,
