Manly Card

HA - I thought that title sounded funny...might be that I am super tired and pushing myself a weeee past my limits! :D

A friend requested a variety of cards in which should could include gift cards as year-end teacher's gifts - the new vertical and horizontal gift card dies from MFT are just the thing - LOVE THEM! And if you remember THIS card? Yeah, I used the same papers, but they look really different don't you think? I cut the die from Kraft card stock, then cut it again from 2 different DP's and adhered them to the original Kraft die cut, some stamping, some stitching and lots of distress ink finishes this one off.

Thanks for stopping by - hope you have a great week! AND tomorrow is Wednesday (hump day) - have you seen this commercial...our daughter LOVES, LOVES, LOVES it - she imitates it for ages and each time it comes on she plays it over and over, too cute. Hope it brings a smile to YOUR hump day!

Take care!!
Hugs,

Flowers and Ribbon over at LCI

Greetings friends! This week over at Ladybug Crafts Ink we're featuring flowers and ribbon - is it cheating if my flowers are in the DP? Nah - it counts!! :D I must admit, I loved THIS card made by Julee, can you tell I cased several pieces?

Image is the gorgeous Nikki Make a Wish and the sentiment is from The Wrinkley's Get Up and Go set; I broke it into two parts, the outside says "Age..." and the inside says "it's only a number!"; I popped the word "Age..." up on dimensionals on top of a button and added some scrunched chocolate seam binding.

Thanks for popping in; hope you join us this week over at Ladybug Crafts Ink!

Hugs,

And the sponsor? Taylored Expressions - FANTASTIC company!

A dear friend has started a travel company out of her home - helping families, couples, singles - anyone put together fabulous cruise packages and before they depart, she gives them a little gift and asked me to make some cards so this is what I came up with!

Lots of waves, cruise ship, clouds, sunshine and on the inside? A palm tree - looks like a grand trip to me!

Teachers Gifts - 2013

Our last babe has finished elementary school - WHOOP, WHOOP; I have LOVED when each of our babes have completed this phase of schooling! Middle school and high school have been such great opportunities for the other two, I expect the same things for one!

This year I went ultra easy on the teachers gifts - but it counts right? :D

I bought 2 insulated cups and filled them halfway with Hershey's kisses then included 4 single serve Hawaiian Punch servings. I couldn't just send them filled with goodies, so I created little tags and hung them from the straw of each cup. Simple yet I thought they turned out super cute. Jared wrote his message on the bag of the tag.

The tag is from Memory Box - Distressed Tag cut out of Kraft card stock and stamped with the  matching stamp. I then layered on a distressed doily, cut 3 layers of the flower using PTI's Beautiful Blooms II dies out of Imaginisce paper - I've had this paper for ages! :-/ The flower was also distressed before gluing together. I finished the tag with some MME enamel dots...seriously love!

Thanks for stopping by; have a great weekend! Our youngest daughter - volleyball player/enthusiast  - and I have been attending the Men's FIVB World League games for USA vs. Argentina - here in our little city! She "might possibly" be seriously in love with this player - he's 6' 10"; the first picture I took in which they were standing on the SAME STEP was absolutely hysterical, the 2nd picture we asked him to remain seated and she sat next to him - that picture is below.

PS - his name is Matt Anderson, he and several of the other World League players played in the Olympics in 2012. :D She's a happy happy happy girl!!

Hello - have we met?

Gosh - life has just been a whirlwind lately - why is it the end of the school year is just SO. DARN. BUSY!!! And I have been very absent from my blog - hence the title. tee hee

I haven't mentioned for quite some time, but I am still going to physical therapy - just last week I was released from two times per week to one time, but I hate to report that it will not stay that way; I am in so much pain... :( As a reminder, surgery was February 13!!

I truly think a big piece may be my desk at work; I spend 10-11 hours at a computer - not good. I had 4 days off from the office - one of those days I worked at home, the others were the weekend and a holiday - when I returned from those 4 days my pain was so much better...now after being back to work for a solid week, I'm pretty miserable. :(

Anyway, I have been creating when my arm permits; so here's a card I made recently - I used a sketch, but don't remember from where - oops!

Papers are My Mind's Eye - of course - the brad has been in my stash for ages!! Lots of stitching  some old paper distress ink and lots of layering. The sentiment is from Verve Visual and is actually all one piece (what you see on the outside and the inside of the card); I masked off the various areas with scotch tape so I could use it on the outside cover with the remainder on the inside. The lower left corner is the envelope with a couple matching flags.

Inside and envie

Thanks for popping in; take care!
