wish

Hi friends!

How are you doing? I'm good - very good, we had a GREAT weekend (3 movies in 3 days - The Heat, Red 2 and Man of Steel), lots of relaxation and some crafting! Ooooo, love me some crafting time!

I was inspired by this photo from Just Us Girls #199 (JUGS199), but somehow didn't end up with any green...or much white - tee hee!

That's okay; I was anxious to do something with red and love how this turned out! The image was stamped on Copic Xpress and colored with Copics, I added a white gel pen to her eyes and tried some different colors for more of a platinum blonde look. But seriously, how cute is the Manga girl - LOVE!! The layout is Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch #189 (SSSC189).

Close up - you can see the debossing
Lots of My Mind's Eye papers, some stitching, distressing, seam binding, a debossed scalloped circle, button and a sweet Tim Holtz ticket "wish" wraps up this one.

Thanks for popping in - hope you have a great week! Take care!

Hugs,

More Fears and Dreams

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this sentiment from Tim Holtz; it's a great one to pull out and just create - no agenda, no assignment, just create. I made a super quick CAS card letting the sentiment do all the work!

I added a piece of music washi tape across the top and a couple delicate leaves towards the bottom of the sentiment.

Does the sentiment make you ponder? :D

Hope you have a GREAT weekend!

Faith...and volleyball!

OH. MY. GOSH...

Last week we enrolled our youngest daughter in 3 volleyball camps; they ran back-to-back which was great, BUT she did 18 sessions in 7 days - not a single session was less than 2 hours, some were as long as 3 1/2 hours. Since I work full-time, there were some days she had to be a gym rat and hang out between sessions - I just couldn't take her to my office each day (in spandex and t-shirt - LOL)!! Also, the earliest we ever left the gym was 8:30 p.m., sometimes we didn't finish till after 9:00 p.m. - I'm too old for that, can you imagine how SHE felt working so hard?

Anyway, I have a bunch of cards I have made (none last week, I couldn't wait to go to bed each night - HA), just haven't had time to post any.

This is one I made quite some time ago - lots of stitching, fun papers and splatters of dark calico by mister huey; I stamped the sentiment directly on designer paper and then highlighted it with a Copic maker and tied on some seam binding to finish it off.

Hope you are having a great week; thanks for visiting!

PS - I tried to post this two nights ago but as I was working on it, we had a storm roll through and we lost power for 6 1/2 hours, so I'm FINALLY getting a chance to post.

Hugs,

Thank You - Mixed Media

This is my 2nd attempt at mixed media; I actually like the way both cards came out; but I've saved the other one for later.

So many fun (new and old) products on this card; I put it together spurred on by a couple challenges:

A Mixed Media Color Challenge

Just Us Girls #197

I love the colors from the photo; aren't they gorgeous? I thought it might be easiest to list the products I used, ready? :D
  Light Modeling Paste
Twinkling H2O's (remember these??? I use Sky Blue and Heavenly White)
  Watercolor paper
Broken China and Tumbled Glass Distress Inks (for stamping AND watercoloring)
Wink of Stella clear glitter pen
  Mister Huey's Opaque White
Heidi Swapp Embellishments (they were white, see below, I painted the arrow blue with Twinkling H2O's)
PTI Vintage Cream and Soft Stone inks
  Hero Hues White

And I think that's about it...and 3 different stamp sets. FUN! It was so hard to capture a good picture, but enjoy the ones I did get; hopefully you can see all the mixed media within.

Breast Wishes...

for a happy birthday!

HA - great stamp set huh? :D Layout is last week's MOJO300 sketch - fun! Beneath the "breast wishes" is a doily cut from tissue paper then spritz with pink and red glimmer mist; then I layered some pretty flourish designer paper. Lots of stitching on this one! I paper pieced the bra then added some glitter - I mean really, don't we ALL love a pretty, sexy bra?

BTW, I know someone that has a birthday THIS WEEK - WOOT, WOOT!!! I LOVE BIRTHDAYS!!!

Thanks for poking your head in; I love when you visit!

Happy Birthday CASE and CAS

Hi friends,

Today I'm sharing a card I completely CASEd from Debbie Olson, her's is very bright and cheery! I kept mine very simple using MME designer paper and some Melon Berry from PTI. I created a flower from an old paperback booked, edged with Melon Berry ink and added a button; I finished the card by adding some enamel dots (love enamel dots!!).

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a GREAT weekend. The youngest daughter and I are headed to KC today for a little bit of shopping and a whole lot of sand volleyball - should be fun!

Hugs,

LCI Through the Ages 6-10

Welcome friends!! Talk about LOTS of fun over at the Ladybug Crafts Ink blog today - we have fun new images - think super cute teddy bears AND a new designer, Lyndsey. She will be a GREAT addition to the team, although she has NO CLUE what she's gotten herself into - HA (don't tell her either - tee hee)!

We're showing off the brand new release "Through the Ages 6-10"; all are so adorable. I went with some kraft on kraft and lots of polka dots for my image. Polka dot designer paper, polka dot embossing folder, polka dot washi tape...yeah, polka dots. LOL

The image is so very cute; everything was colored with Copics with pointillism tried once again on the teddy bear. I think I'm going to have to try the same image Michele Boyer demonstrates in her Copic Pointillism tutorial and see if I like how it turns out, but I do think it adds great texture to the little teddy bear.

The main image as well as the base layer were added with dimensionals; more washi tape on the envelope to tie it all together. I added a little flag banner to the inside - FUN!

Thanks for stopping by; be sure to join us in our birthday celebration - we always LOVE seeing what you create!
