Anyway, I was thinking oriental - red, poppy flowers, etc... My poppies didn't turn out red but I loved them anyway, so I just kept on keepin' on! LOL Michele's going to fire me for not turning out an oriental themed card; but work with me here okay? LOL!!

I used MFT's Grand Peaceful Flowers Stencil and modeling paste with distress inks; the leaves and stems are Bundled Sage and Forrest Moss; the flowers are Victoria Velvet and Fired Brick with some Cranberry dimensional pearls mixed in. And then the other flowers right in the middle are white modeling paste coated with SU! Dazzling Diamonds. I made this into a sympathy card adding a flag with the sentiment.

I added a strip of musical washi tape and then used a Copic to create the pink stripe right next to the washi tape. I used Tim Holtz watercolor paper; therefore the Copic ink is splotchy which I love!! I didn't coat the paper heavily, just enough to add a touch of pink. Finished it off with an olive button and 3 sequins.

Thanks for stopping by; I love when you visit...and shhhh....don't tell my boss I got lost trying to achieve my Oriental Theme. :D Be sure to join the fun, we love seeing your creations!!

Hugs,

Hi...remember me?

I wish I could report I'm healthy as a horse - but I STILL continue to be sick. I'm on my 6th day of my 3rd antibiotic....WOW! I am beginning to feel a bit better but a long ways from being well.

I did feel good enough to spend some time here and there in the studio to create a card using the Falling Hearts Stencil using modeling paste which I colored with Fired Brick and Worn Lipstick distress inks - the hearts on the right are a bit darker than the ones on the left and the ones in the middle are even a bit lighter - kinda hard to tell in the photo. But I had an absolute BLAST creating this card!

The main panel was created using Tim Holtz watercolor paper, I used the more textured side. I used the new MFT's TRANSFORM-ables Heart Full of Love dies; I cut the larger solid heart from PTI Hibiscus Burst, then centered the smaller heart and cut out the inside and the word "love", I also cut it a 2nd time from PTI Raspberry Fizz and kept just the "love" portion and glued it over the lighter pink. I added two layers of clear Wink of Stella - look at that shimmer! I tied on a small die from PTI's Tiny Tags stamp and die set and added the word "you" in Worn Lipstick; after tying it on, I centered the cut out heart over one of the modeling paste hearts - kinda cute I thought.

That's it, it's a wrap although it took me two days to get it done - LOL!

Thanks for popping in; hope you have a great week and I WILL be back this week with some new things to share! Until then,

Hugs,

Fancy Folds for Crafts 4 Eternity

Ahhhh...I must admit, I'm not a fancy girl, so my 'fancy folds' turned into FUN folds! That counts right? Hope you will join the fun over at Crafts 4 Eternity this week and show us YOUR fancy folds (include one fold that is not your typical card base fold)! Just for playing along you could win 4 free images from Sassy Studio Designs!

I made a little matchbook note card - it's tiny - with a heart flap. I love these super fun papers from Bo Bunny, so bright, so cheerful and just perfect to tuck into a lunchbox, or coat pocket, or desk drawer! The card measures 3" x 7" with a partial heart cut on the left, it all unfolds to unveil the little message inside, "Forever and Always {no matter what}". The stamp set is No Matter What from Verve Visual.

This came together so quickly, I need to make a few more - one for each of our babes! The base was cut from MFT Whip Cream, I layered on 2 different designer papers, then another heart cut from PTI Hibiscus Burst and one more heart from Chevron designer paper. The inside was stamped with MFT Razzle Berry and Electric Red.

The belly band was made by cutting two heart strips from MFT's Layered Heart Border die in PTI Pure Poppy and Hibiscus Burst, laying one on top of the other. Nothing too fancy, but certainly fun! Hope you'll join along and show us your fancy folds this week!

TFL; hope to see you again soon, have a great weekend!!

Sketch + Valentine's Doggy + CAS

Hi friends - welcome to 2014!!! Ready for a new year? I will be...as soon as I get rid of this PNEUMONIA; it's kicking my little hiney...STILL. Second round of antibiotics, still doing breathing treatments and an inhaler, insomnia has been my latest enemy and certainly isn't helping me heal...but hopefully soon I'll turn the corner and quit trying to hack up my lungs, intestines and toes. LOL

This week I combined Crafts 4 Eternity's fabby sketch with Wags 'n Whiskers Anything Goes Challenge - seriously, how easy is that!

Here's the sketch:

Crafts 4 Eternity is offering up the chance to win 3 free images just for playing along; super easy sketch too!

Wags 'n Whiskers is offering one free rubber stamp, so come on, join the fun!!

I made a super CAS card using Wags 'n Whiskers Buddy's Balloon image...but I changed the 'regular' balloon into 3 heart balloons and colored them to match the various washi tape I used. Sprinkled on some Mister Huey Opaque White Mist, layered it all on to some MFT Whip Cream and that's it. Oh...I did emboss a sentiment from Verve Visual "Love You {lots}" - perfect for a child's card I think, or a dog lover! :D

Thanks for popping in; truly hope you'll join the fun at Wags 'n Whiskers and Crafts 4 Eternity!

Crafts 4 Eternity - Very Vintage

Hello friends and welcome to 2014!! I ushered in the new year with a sweet case of pneumonia! :-( Good ole breathing treatments, inhaler, and antibiotics - good stuff I'm telling you!

But crafting time is also my relaxation time so to take my mind off how rotten I was feeling, I made sure to play along with Crafts 4 Eternity Very Vintage theme! Just for joining in our fun challenge,  you could win 3 free downloads from Stamping All Day!

I have to admit, I'm not very good at Vintage - kinda scares me! LOL But I had some papers that I thought were rather vintage-y (new word) and this great stamp set "Just My Type" by My Favorite Things. I distressed all the edges and sponged on Old Paper Distress Ink. The typewriter was stamped in Pumice Stone Distress Ink on PTI's Fine Linen, then I added a piece of pre-printed paper from the same Prima paper collection. When you unroll it, it says "Memories, I Cherish With You Special Moments to Never Forget".
I added more DP to the inside and added the sentiment "you're not old, you're vintage"... gotta love that.
Thanks for stopping by; hope you will join us over at Crafts 4 Eternity!
