Masculine Thank You

A co-worker requested a thank you card for a friend, no specific requirements although she did pick the quote for the inside. I thought the MOJO459 sketch would be perfect for this card; the sentiment is from MFT's Amazing set and matching dies. I die cut the word 'amazing' 3 times from PTI's smokey shadow cardstock; you can't tell in the photo but I added some black distress ink to the bottom of the amazing so it's a bit of an ombre look. I coated the final layer with glossy accents. Lots of distressing with ink and tool and that's it - super easy peasy!

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great weekend!

Hugs,

Sunglasses needed - no really! Bright and bold Marching Chick

Greetings friends - how are you? I found some extra time to create this week; I just finished Sandy Allnock's #copicjumpstart class - she's so insanely talented. I tried to branch out and make my shadows/contrasts a bit more dramatic than normal. And then I messed up which direction my 'light' was coming from so I decided it was right in the middle - I shaded both directions! HA!

I didn't get a perfectly stamped image so I traced it - but truly need a finer tip marker. That's okay; I still love this image from Stampingbella! I used MOJO452 sketch for my layout (flipped) and used ALL. THE. BRIGHT. PAPERS. :D A wee bit blinding, yes?

I didn't want a plain white card base so I used a Mama Elephant scalloped die then embossed with large polka dots. The cute little sentiment, washi tape and enamel dots finish it off. As you can see, I made certain to add more fun, bright colors to the inside. Seriously, wouldn't this cheer ANYONE up?

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great day!

Hugs,

Tall & Skinny...I am not!

Hello friends - it feels like Monday to me due to the holiday - that means I'll be confused all week long. :0 But it was a GREAT weekend - hope yours was too!

This week at Mojo Monday, Julee is going all Tall and Skinny...which I am not; always wanted to be, but much more short and squat - HA!

I had so much fun making this little shaker card; I used the WPlus9 Unforgettable stamp and die set and the Polaroid die set from MFT. I colored the elephant with Copics using the die to cut him out and placed him peeking through the polaroid; then I stamped the party hat on designer paper and added some shading with Copics. I stamped just the balloon on both white card stock and designer paper to give it a bit more thickness then tied it to the party hat with hemp twine. I added a layer of vellum behind the polaroid, some foam adhesive, some sequins and then a fun chevron patterned paper.

The overall card is 3.5" by 5.5"; more patterned paper and glitter paper finish off the front along with some washi tape. And of course, I waited to stamp my sentiment till the polaroid was finished...yes, that DID NOT go well - *groan* - so I added a little orange flag to hide the oopsie! :D

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great week!

Hot Flashes!

Hi friends - how are you? How is the week treating you?

Remember that one time you made a fun card and your camera WOULD NOT WORK...period, even after charging? No, never happened to you? Well, it sure did to me so I have some uber lousy iPhone photos to share of my project! I'm sure you are thinking, well, just wait and take those photos later...um...the party is TODAY, so I can't.
Smiley from Millan.Net

That's alright, you'll still get the gist. I absolutely adore these sentiment combos from Hambo Stamps - their fractured funnies are some of my absolute favorites! I paired the sentiment (Don't sweat getting older!) with lots of candles from Mama Elephant's Birthday Wishes. I added a banner, some shading of the candles and flames with Copics and the handy dandy white gel pen for the lines and dots. The remainder of the sentiment was stamped on the inside (Oh, those are hot flahses? Sorry.). Tell me, does that not make you laugh??!!

MOJO410 & Pop Up Challenge

Hi friends - hope you are enjoying your weekend. I've found time time here and there to craft and wanted to try the MOJO410 sketch (link below) as well as participate in Kathy's pop up challenge - all about lines.

I let the gorgeous designer paper from MME do all the work; added some vellum, lots of gold card stock and one of those fabulous 'hello' dies from MFT. I cut 3 layers out of black card stock and one out of gold, layered it all together for some slight/fun dimension. The flowers are from MFT's blueprints #5, I added some sponging to the edges and black enamel dot to the center.

MOJO403

Hi friends - super quick post here. I started this card on Monday and FINALLY got to finish it tonight - Thursday. Life just gets in the way sometimes - HA!

The layout is MOJO403 (see below), love these flowers from Great Friend and fab sentiment from Treasured Words. Playing along with Kathy's #thedailymarker30day2 challenge to color a bit each day and although I rarely have time to play, I did enjoy coloring these flowers. I accented the black dots in the middle of each flower with a sharpie and then added white dots. Love the striking colors with black; embossed the background for a bit more dimension and interest.

Thanks for stopping by - hope you have a GREAT Friday!

Another MOJO400 + The Daily Marker Color Challenge 2

Hi there,

I  have a few more flowers I colored inspired by Kathy of The Daily Marker and decided to make a CAS card using the MOJO400 layout and allowing the fun background and flowers be the star of the show.

The background was created by sponging through Tim Holtz's Dot Fade Stencil with some yellow and pink but kept it to the center portion of the card; I added a layer of vellum and some Verve ribbon to finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you've had a great weekend! Take care!

MOJO 400 + The Daily Marker Color Challenge 2

Hi friends!

Anyone else playing along with Kathy's 2nd color challenge - just take a few minutes every day to color with whatever medium tickles your fancy! Color just as time permits; we all have busy lives but it sure is fun sneaking in a bit of play time. Kathy provides incredible inspiration every single day for 30 full days.

Also, Monday was Verve's 400th - WHOA - sketch challenge; Julee always provides great sketches with lots of inspiration; I wanted to play along, hope you can join the fun too!

This is one of 3 flowers I colored for thedailymarkerchallenge30day2; I used some pinks and faded out to gray, almost white with a yellow center - super fun. The layout is MOJO400. I added some 'condensation' in the form of glossy accents to the flower; you have to look really close, but it's there! Some fun organza ribbon, stitching, Verve sequins and a Verve flag banner finish it off. Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great weekend!

MOJO378 - Birthday

Hi friends; HAPPY NEW YEAR!
From Millan.Net

I don't drink but thought this little smiley was perfect for celebrating the new year! Did anyone do anything exciting to ring in the New Year? I'm happy to report I made it past midnight - I RARELY ever stay up that late; and even after being up that late, I had a super productive day on the 1st - that always feels good!

Below I get in to a few thoughts about 2015 so stayed tuned and let me know your thoughts; but for now, I wanted to pop in and share a card I made for MOJO378 - a tall and skinny card; I always love making these!

Pretty straightforward stamping and coloring with Copics. I distressed all the layers with Old Paper Distress Ink, added some stitching to the flags, clear Wink of Stella for the candles and flower as well as glossy accents for the candles.

Thanks for popping in; hope you have a great day!

PS - anyone ever do Ali Edwards 'one word'? If so, tell me what you thought. I'm considering it for 2015. AND I never write down goals; I always have a few in my head, but I think this year, I'll actually WRITE A FEW DOWN in a place I can see on a regular basis and REFER to them! And last but not least; I saw THIS POST and fell in love with the idea. So far in our family, I will be participating, our youngest daughter and her best friend will be participating too. We all went to Hobby Lobby on January 1 and picked out a 'holder' (we all chose jars although you certainly don't have to use a jar) to hold our happiness lists. I'll be writing my very first happiness list the evening of 1/1/15. So there you go; I'm thinking 2015 is going to be a GREAT year!
Hugs,
