A day late, a dollar short and a few marbles...

short too...no comment needed. LOL

Yesterday, the amazing TLT Ladybugs posted their cards for Jolly Julie's challenge - "Loves Me, Loves Me Not"; I quickly knew I wanted to use the "Grow Old With Me" stamp from the Ladybug Crafts Ink Wrinkley collection - seriously peeps, aren't they just the cutest couple? I wanna chair like that so hubby and I can sit and cuddle together!!

The layout is Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch #151. I didn't want to cover my image so I ran the ribbon behind my image and made a poofy flower from a paperback book. Gosh, I just love making them - they don't add too much dimension and are oh so easy. I edged this one in Wild Honey and Spiced Marmalade. The heart is tied with button twine from PTI, tied with a bow which I looped around the paperback flower. <3

The image is colored with Copics; the inside is decorated with a couple sentiments from the "Grow Old With Me" stamp set and more stitching. Kinda like Karen, I had a great time stitching all my panels.

I RARELY use orange - but I thought it turned out pretty cute! Thanks for popping in; be sure to check out what the other bugs created and leave them some love. We can all use a little love!

... wrinkley & STILL in love ...

PS - for those keeping up on Kaitlyn; our first week of physical therapy didn't go so well; we saw no improvement and her pain didn't lessen; therefore she moved to crutches on Monday. We go back for physical therapy on Thursday - REALLY praying for progress! I post updates on Facebook too if you want to follow along.

Happy Mudder's Day

A super quick and fun card today - this one measures 3.25" x 5.5" and was made for the SCS Chocolate Cake challenge (yum)!! I love these images from Hambo Stamps; they so make me giggle! I added glossy accents which is still a bit blurry b/c he hasn't dried thoroughly. :D  Yeah, couldn't wait!

Nothing fancy, layering, a bit of stitching, sponging and coloring with Copics. Anyone know why I added the heart around the 13?

Thanks for popping in - we have an incredibly busy weekend, but I'll be back with more fun creations over the weekend.

Green Eggs and...Hambo!

HA HA - great title eh? The brilliant Judy and/or Monica can be credited with that one!

Today Hambo customers and the Bacon Bits Design Team are bringing you fun creations that depict book titles! It might be our fave book or just one that was fun to design. Hopefully you arrived here from Super Sandy's blog, if so you're in the right place! If not, you might want to start back at the beginning, the Hambo Blog to make sure you are eligible for the hopper prize. We all love prizes!

A prize will be awarded to one participant whose book-themed creation tickles the Bacon Bits' fancy in a hammin' jammin' way! Another prize will be awarded randomly to a hopper who comments on all the blogs along the way. The winners will be announced on the Hoedown blog, as well as the Hambo company blog, Talk to the Ham on Wednesday, February 1st.

My book title is "Horton Hears a Who"...but for me, Horton is a girl... :D I like purdy girly elephants (see? Her nails are divine eh?)!! Some simple gray card stock paired with a beautiful grey damask design which I zig zagged stitched onto white for each panel.

My caption on the front says "Do you hear what I hear?" And the inside which just makes me crack up? "Can you make the voices stop?" Is that not just the funniest? Love it!!

Now dance on over to the Amazing Allison's blog for another great read! Thanks for playing along and in case you get lost; below is the entire blog hop list!

Hey Baby, Baby!

Where have YOU been? Oh you mean, where have I been? Great question - my adorable, sweet hubby shared his horrible respiratory germs with me and I have been sick, sick, sick!

We had an all-day volleyball tournament Saturday; one of the most miserable days I can remember in a long time; I just sat there like a bump on a log; don't think I spoke more than 20 words the entire time we were there. Certainly wasn't very sociable either!

But I'm feeling better and I have things to do - life just does not stop when you are sick and particularly when you have 3 active babes.

A co-worker asked me to make a baby card for her new little grandson, so this is what I came up with. I used Karen's latest sketch once again - that's twice in 2 weeks! :D Her sketches always rock!!

The papers are from My Mind's Eye; some sponging, lots of layering, a new Martha Stewart punch makes an appearance on the inside as well as another little "Baby, Baby" stamp from Ladybug Crafts Ink. Gosh, I just love these images for baby cards! So versatile!

Thanks for stopping by; see you again soon!

Praying for you Grandmother...

A friend from work asked me to make a card for her grandmother who isn't doing well and isn't expected to make it. :(  Breaks my heart, but of course I wanted to make the card for her.

Her grandmother loves purple, flowers and is a strong Christian so I tried to add those things in there - really focusing on the purple.

A tough card to make and I was so surprised how little purple DP I have!!! I mean VERY, VERY LITTLE but I did the best I could.

The flower is made with Papertreyink dies and a paperback book; I inserted a pearl into the center and edged it with Dusty Concord distress ink. I also edged the inside portion with the same ink. I cut two banners for the sentiments, "Praying for you" and "Grandmother". The inside says "Thank you...for the difference you've made in my life.".

Thanks for stopping by - hope you're having a great week!

Hugs, ~M.

Hambo Hoedown - Bailey

This week, we have all made cards for the amazing cause: Send a Smile 4 Kids and we're using the most adorable little digi doggy - Bailey! Seriously - cuteness oozing out of that little doggy, don't you agree?

Watch for the Send a Smile 4 Kids post on January 21 of how you can join this outstanding cause!

The layout is another great sketch from Karen - The Sweetest Things. Instead of the panel down the middle, I used a heart doily which I spritzed with chocolate and pink glimmer mist, so very sparkly IRL! I colored little Bailey with Copics and used a 3D glaze black pen for the collar; some fun zig zag stitching, straight stitching and delightful Valentine papers from Bo Bunny.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you'll play along with us!

Flip Flops & Bows!

This week Sue has chosen a nice and easy challenge for us -

any sort of bow is good, in whatever you like - lace, ribbon, twine - as long as it's tied in a bow, it counts!

A pretty CAS card; not too many layers, a little embossing, some coloring and that's it! Love me some big ole loopy bows!  :D

Hope you'll join us, remember you have 2 full weeks to play along!

PS - did you see THIS? I'm running with a great group of people no doubt!  :D Anita is one of my former design sisters and I've admired Denise FOREVER!! AND to top it off? Yep, that's another image by Ladybug Crafts Ink - Baby, Baby!!! Thanks Karen!

What's Up Chick?

It might be the middle of January but boy  have we had spring-like weather! Well, except for those few days this week that it got below freezing - we saw a bit of snow and our heater went out - but alas, temps are back up to the high 40's today.  W@@T, W@@T - love it!

Of course, I couldn't resist using this little chick in a bath to ask "What's up chick?". Image and sentiment are from Hambo Stamps.

I used the layout from MFT stamps (except for the flag, I don't have any tiny little flags that would work. Papers are from MME of course, some fun Copic coloring, a white gel pen, great die from MFT Stamps, I added glossy accents to the water and bubbles and that's it. Simple, yet fun!

... birds need a bath too ...

Baby, Baby - girl style

Remember THIS card? As I mentioned, we are having a joint baby shower at work this week - one couple is having a boy - the other a girl. Now I'm here to show you the baby girl card - OK, can I just say it is SO MUCH FUN to add bling to a girl card? Baby boys are great - we have a little red-head that I think is a total gem, but seriously, I just think girl stuff is so cute - their clothes, bows, hats, tights, etc. :-/

Anyway, here's the card with lots of bling and LOTS of layers! That carriage is layered 3 times; the very bottom layer is the lower portion of the carriage in which I added white polka dots to; then 2 more layers for the rest with the "hood" part mounted with dimensionals for mega 3D effect.

BTW, I LOVE this Baby, Baby set from Ladybug Crafts Ink - all the images are soooo adorable AND all rubber images are 1/2 off this month!

The layout is Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #149 - delightful layout. Of course I used more MME paper which I love so much; I thought it turned out pretty cute. Hope the parents-to-be like their cards.

And thanks for popping in - so good to see you! Happy hump day!!

... babies are so cuddly and sweet...

Wedgies....

Oh those wedgies...a pain in the patootie eh?  ha ha ha ha

Another great fractured funny from Hambo Stamps; I am also using this card for the Cupcake Challenge this week - bright colors and scrumptious cupcakes.

The layout is Mojo Monday Challenge #222 (oh how I love that number, 2/22 is my anniversary, 22 is my fave number and February (2nd month) is my fave month) - a perfect fit don't you think?

Lots of distressing along with some fun MME paper - and how 'bout that wide ribbon??? I've owned it for OVER A YEAR and never been able to use it - think it works?

And talk about being thrifty? That turquoise tissue flower is made from the tissue paper in which your Verve Visual purchases are shipped. :D It has sparkles on it too...purdy!!

Thanks for popping in, be sure to check out the Cupcake Inspirations and join us this week!

TLT - Anything Goes - New Stash

Yes - YOU can use your new stash? Me? I have no new stash! "Might" be related to being on Santa's naughty list, at least that's the list I'm told I was on...

:(

Can you believe it? That is just not right, not right at all. Thank goodness Ladybug Crafts Ink is having a sale - gonna have to buy me some new stuff.

And on top of not having any new stuff to play with I have a REALLY sick husband - in 20 years of marriage, I can only remember 2 times he has missed work - yesterday was one. I'll admit, it scares me when he's so ill! Thankfully he started an antibiotic and an inhaler, so I'm praying within 24/48 hours he'll turn the corner.

So this post is super short; but hopefully you'll take the time to join us in the challenge this week and use YOUR new stash; we all want to see what you got!
