Hey, Gorgeous!

Hi friends - hope you had a great weekend! I have a couple 'new to me' things that I was able to combine and use on this card; The Ton Sunnies, matching die and the mini minc machine; the polka dot background is one of the pieces that came with the machine and I used the black piece of foil that was also included.

I stamped the glasses in red and used a black spica glitter pen to fill in the design - so cute; once dry, I used a clear wink of stella to coat the frames. I added some gray to the lenses and also faintly stamped the lines then coated with clear glossy accents. It needed a bit more punch, so I added some embossed lines using my Scor-Pal and that 1/2 inch spacing was the perfect spot for the embossed sentiment. Quick, cute and fun!

We're also tossing this in for the Mix It Up Challenge - black, white + one other color!!

Thanks for stopping by; here's hoping you have a GREAT week!

Happy Birthday - lots of dimension

Oh friends...I had so much fun making these cards then a total disaster occurred! :(

It probably took me 2 weeks to make these cards; I have a full-time job and with workouts after work, I have very limited time but goodness, they were lots of fun! I am determined to use up my pattern paper (hoard much - HA), so these was the very last of this particular paper pad used to make 3 cards. The flowers were made MONTHS ago - as in 2018 before my medical condition occurred.

Anywho, I cut the frames and used a stencil on the largest frame to sponge on color, darker in one corner and lighter as I moved to the other corner. The outside frame was mounted with dimensional foam. On the inside piece, I used a stencil and modeling paste; once dry, I also sponged on color and adhered it flat to the card. I die cut the 'birthday' 4 times per card and adhered together; the 'happy' was cut from silver sparkle paper. Pulled out some seam binding I've also had for quite some time and tied it on where the two papers meet. Layered on the flowers, added Nuvo drops, rounded some corners and that's it.

And then it went all wrong...
I brought the cards to work to photograph and give away...put them in my sack, I tend to throw everything that needs to go to work in one bag...including my lunch... Any guesses? Yes, my lunch leaked; one card was 100% damaged, the other two I was able to salvage with minimal damage/discoloration, but goodness, I was kinda heartbroken! So much work! Oh well; at least I was able to save two of them; there's joy in that!

Hope you have a great weekend ahead; thanks for popping in!!

Hugs,

Big, HUGE Thanks

Hi there - sometimes you need a random card and you also just want to play with some products; hence this creation!

I started off using some Nuvo Mousse (platinum and pink) and a stencil on SSS fog card stock - I have no idea how to capture the shimmer in a still photo, but if you caught my IG story, then you could see all the shimmer; it's so gorgeous IRL! I used a blending brush (this link is to 5 brushes for $5.99; I don't think you can find a better price!!) to apply the mousse. I stamped the balloons and hippo (from My Favorite Things, Happy Hippos) with SSS fog ink onto Neenah 110 lb. card stock (it was what I had handy); then die cut and colored with Copics. I traced the strings with a silver gel pen and added some shimmer using clear wink of stella with a thin coating of glossy accents. I accented the hippo's eyes with black enamel accents.

Trying to capture the shimmer - it's so pretty IRL!

I stamped the sentiment on black card stock and accidentally used Hero Arts sparkle embossing powder (which doesn't show up too well); I then restamped it and sprinkled on Ranger white embossing powder. I ended up with a bit of a shadow effect, but that's okay! I used the Tim Holtz tiny attacher for a fun little accent.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great week!

Hugs,

Mix It Up - April 2019

Hi friends - hope you'll join this month at the Mix It Up Challenge blog where we are encouraging you to make a black and white card + 1 other color. I really enjoyed this challenge and could probably make cards like this all the time. :D I did make two; I'll have the other one a little later this month!

This one is super simple using paper piecing for the flower and leaves; I cut them out by hand and added a bit of shading with colored pencils. I embossed the sentiment and added lots of Nuvo drops and voila - quick and simple!

Hope you'll play along this month; we love seeing your creations!

Hugs,
