TLT - Sketch Tams Style

It's Tuesday and we're back - this week with a sketch by the delightful Tams!  This is one great layout; hope you'll check it out at the TLT Challenge Blog and then play along.  We LOVE seeing what you create!

My daughter needed a thank you card for some friends that loaned her ski clothing so she could go skiing over Spring Break.  They had EVERYTHING she needed; we didn't have to buy a thing.  Can't beat that, so I really wanted to make a special card for them.

Hence, it's April and I'm using Nikkie and Buttercup Snow Angels.  :D  Yeah...you can't see Buttercup - DON'T.EVEN.GO.THERE...my boss is going to be ALL over it...trust me!  HA HA  She likes to get her whip out...and I like to give her reasons to get it out.  LOL

Seriously, is this image not just perfect?  I paper pieced Nikki's coat and scarf and added black enamel dots for the buttons on her coat.  I wanted to add Flower Soft as the fur around her coat and hat...but accidentally grabbed some embossing powder and dumped it on before I realized my error.  OOPS!  I added some fluffy stuff for the snow.

I edged all the DP with PTI's Chamomile Tea Dye ink; love how it gives the paper an aged look (much like me...aged!!).  I also added white enamel dots to the scallops and some red gems around the left side of the circle per the sketch.

Again, hop over to the blog to see all the amazing creations and then play along - always a great prize to be won!

Have a great week; hugs, ~M.

Repeat Impression SOTW - Bird Bath

Happy Monday friends!  How are you?  You will have to excuse me briefly as I allow a proud momma moment to shine through.

We had a GREAT weekend; our daughter's team, the XTREME, won their tournament - UNDEFEATED.  They played 5 games in 21 hours; it was phenomenal!

I know, I know; you're really here to see what I created huh?  :D

Well, let's get to it!  This week at The House That Stamps Built, we are featuring the "Bird Bath" stamp; the Stamp of the Week is offered at 50% off.  Stop on over at The House That Stamps Built to get all the deets!

I used an older Mojo Monday layout for my card; you can see the layout HERE. I'm also still using bits and pieces of my MME Ooh La La paper collection.  :D  Yeah, I'll NEVER get all my DP used up - LOL!

I actually went back and added grass under and around the bird bath; but wasn't sure if I liked it better or not, so for now, we're rolling with this one in the photos!

The scalloped border comes with the MME paper collection and I added some Chocolate Baker's twine tied in a bow; I also used the scalloped border scraps on the inside.  The layers of DP were edged with VersaMagic Jumbo Java; simple and straightforward.

I added some glitter to the top layer of the Bird Bath; I need a little birdie to add to it!  Most of the Rock Stars DID add a birdie to theirs - be sure to check out their creations HERE!

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great Monday.  Hugs, ~M.

With Sympathy + GYDOMAR142011

WOW; that's one lengthy title eh?  :D

Verve had a challenge in March to use all neutrals with a pop of color; seems I'm always in need of sympathy cards, so this is what I created.  I used all 3 sizes of the flowers from Verve's Great Friend set and stamped them onto DP, cutting out each layer.  I added dimensionals to each layer for a great 3D effect.

The card is very simple using PTI's Smokey Shadow, Pure Poppy and some ledger paper from my stash.  I added pearls to the center of the flower and also 3 small pearls below the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you're having a great week!  Hugs, ~M.

Gone Fishin'!

Greetings friends!

How's your week going?  Mine is eh-eh....glad tomorrow is Hump Day; REALLY looking forward to the weekend!  :D

I FINALLY got a chance to get my "Something's Fishy" a la mode from MFT Stamps inky.  LMBO - isn't it just the funniest?  It comes with 3 sentiments but I just had to use the "That's Just Crappie!" sentiment; makes me laugh every single time!

I'm still working to use up my BG paper pads so I pulled out some unusual colors for me, but I thought the green would be perfect for her big fishy!

I stamped the fish twice on designer paper, cutting both out; the 2nd one is layered with dimensionals at the tail to give it a great 3D effect!

The layout comes from Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #110; I flipped the sketch and also used a circle to fit my sentiment rather than an oval.  Great layout; thanks Karen!

I always decorate the inside of my cards; but this time I had to stamp the same images b/c they are just so cute and funny!  The girl and fish are stamped 2nd generation; the sentiment is 1st generation.  A bit more DP to finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by; hope your day is GREAT!

Hugs, ~M.

TLT - Make Your Own Flowers Amanda Style

It's Tuesday and we're back with another GREAT challenge by our Guest Designer, Amanda!  This week you need to create something and incorporate your own hand-made flowers!

I'm trying, once again, to build my stash of cards, so I created two Magnum cards - one says "Diet starts tomorrow!"; the other says "I shouldn't have eaten the whole lasagna."  Aren't those quotes the funniest?  Love 'em!

Both cards are very close to identical using Basic Grey DP, Dark Chocolate, Kraft and Spring Rain card stock from PTI.  One has a flower created from leftover pieces from THIS flower and edged in Chai Tea Dye Ink.  It was tied off with a button and Chocolate Baker's Twine.  The other flower was created with another PTI floral blossom die and edged with VersaMagic Jumbo Java and finished off with a beautiful striped brad.

The cards were designed using The Sweet Stop Sketch (SSS101) - such a GREAT layout!

Be sure to check out all the details at the challenge blog (HERE); and then join the fun!  And remember, you are not required to use an LCI image to be eligible to win!

Thanks for popping in; hope you have a great week!

Hugs, ~M.

Repeat Impression SOTW - Easter Egg

Hi friends - happy Monday!!  This week The House That Stamps Built is featuring their Easter Egg as the Stamp of the Week.  That means YOU can purchase this same stamp for 50% off - what a deal!

I used this stamp last week also (HERE); but this week I wanted to go ALL glitter!  Ooh la la, love me some glitter!

I wanted some grass...don't have a die or punch to create grass, so I tore some paper, edged it with VersaMagic green and then cut tiny, tiny strips in the paper - love it!  On the front I added two layers of grass and nestled the eggs in both layers.  I also cut some clouds out of my PTI felt, edged them in blue and mounted with dimensionals; love how they turned out!

Are YOU ready for Easter?  Going to be here before you know it and this image is so much fun to use.  Hope you'll hop (ha - great pun) over to The House That Stamps Built to get all the deets and see what the other Rock Stars have created!  Thanks for stopping by; hope your week is GREAT!

Hugs, ~M.

HaPpY BiRtHdAy WeNDy!

I just love funky upper and lower case lettering...yeah, I don't know why, just think it looks funky and fun!

Today we are celebrating Wendy's birthday - Wendy is the owner and illustrator of Repeat Impressions and she's turning 21 today!  She used to be a brunette, but when she heard blondes have more fun...well, the picture explains the rest!  :D

HaPpY BiRThDay WeNDy -
hope your day is FaNtaStiC!!

OK, before going further - raise your hand if you know what type of image I used for Wendy's birthday card?  K.....waiting.....still waiting....did you guess right?  Hmph; am I THAT predictable?  :D

I can't help it; Wendy has the most amazing floral images - love, love, love them.  Bet I've never mentioned THAT before now have I?

For Wendy's card I used the Tulip Bouquet and some super fun spring-y paper from Basic Grey, added a bit of chocolate and kraft and really, you just can't go wrong.  I used Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #109.  The white ruffle-y ribbon is from Tim Holtz, it actually has elastic down the middle - so cool; then I topped it with PTI's Berry Sorbet Saddle Stitch ribbon.  The front just looked a bit empty to me, so I created a flower from a paperback book using PTI's floral dies.  I edged it with Berry Sorbet and added a brad to the center.  Finished the main image off with dimensional pearls.

Be sure to check out what the other Rock Stars have created for Wendy's birthday:

Thanks for all you do for us Wendy; you are so special!  Happy, happy birthday!!

And thanks for stopping by; have a great Thursday!  Hugs, ~M.

Repeat Impressions What If? Wednesday

We're back - yeah, Arnold's voice again!  :D  Questions?  See THIS post.

Anywho, the Repeat Rockstars are back with another great sketch from Wendy - hop on over to The House That Stamps Built to see all the amazing creations; I promise you'll enjoy the hop!!

I used this super fun Easter Egg for my card - just perfect to celebrate Spring or Easter or just good ole happiness!

Did you ever color Easter eggs?  Tell me some of the fun things you used to do (or still do) to color eggs - what wild tricks did you use to make the COOLEST Easter eggs on the block?   I'll pick one random participant and send them a prize!  Ooh la la, we all love prizes right?

Anyway, I made my card into a square card; stamped one egg, masked it to stamp the 2nd egg, then masked both of those to stamp the 3rd egg!  We have polka dots, stripes - just fun colors all around!  AND a super fun layout; thanks Wendy!

AND don't forget YOU can join us with your take on this sketch and one lucky person will win a gift certificate to Repeat Impressions.  Oh yeah, we are full of the good stuff today!

Can't wait to see your creation; in the meantime, have a GREAT hump day!  Hugs, ~M.

TLT - Monochrome Gaelle Style

We're BACK - said in my best Arnold Schwarzenegger voice (wow, that's a tough last name ya know)?  Anyway, this week we're doing it Gaelle's way - monochrome.  Well...I cheated; I just COULD NOT force myself to make a blue cake - tee hee!  But other than that I'm all blue...should have used some different shades of blue - sorry Gaelle!  :D

I used the wonderful Make A Wish Nikki - love, love, love this image!  Colored with Copics of course, some paper piercing, a tag, scrumptious ribbon, a beautiful button, twine, dimensional pearls and that's it.  I used the layout from Mojo Monday (#182).

The tag was actually created using the b-day dies from PTI; I used the middle and small birthday "boxes" to create the layered tag!

Won't you join us this week and create your own monochrome card?  Any image can win; doesn't have to be an LCI image!

Hope you have a great week; hugs, ~M.

The REST of Vegas

Other pictures from the trip can be found HERE and HERE.

I was fascinated by the things we saw on the strip - particularly the live statues (is that an oxymoron?)  The Michael Jackson impersonator got rather annoyed with me; I was taking pictures but wouldn't get "in" the picture with him AND I didn't give him money, so he was annoyed.  I actually did end up giving him some money, but the Hubster said he commented on the amount I gave...WHATEVER, I wasn't there to see him anyone (but he was spectacular - HA)!

I have added captions below the pictures; hope this helps.  Enjoy my last walk down memory lane of Vegas!  Have a great week; hugs, ~M.
Excalibur - across the street from where we stayed - beautiful at night!

Um, no clue what he is; I had a GREAT picture of her Thurs. He wouldn't stand still, so really hard to get a good picture.  Look at his platform shoes!  LOL

Gold and Silver - as seen on TV Pawn Stars

Gold statue & dog getting set up (his trash can says "turn me on"

Gold Man and Dog

THIS was the MOST AMAZING live statue - he could stand PERFECTLY STILL for the longest time ever!!!

Motorcycle coming out of Harley Davidson Cafe

Joker - his crown twinkled; he was pretty cool too.

Yep; Michael Jackson is annoyed with me!

No money?  No pictures!  LMBO!

Statue of Liberty at New York New York (where we stayed)

The Bellagio - most amazing fountain show EVER!

Statue - little boy getting ready to climb up

Another little boy climbing up; statue helping him

In his "trance"

That's it friends; thanks for stopping by!!
