SFYTT a la Mode Style

Greetings friends - how are you?

It has been a tough, tough week at our house...urgh; don't even want to go there!  So...to help me stay sane, I've found some little pieces of crafting time here and there!

I recently purchased two a la Mode stamp sets - I LOVE THEM but haven't gotten either of them inky until this week - I KNOW - **gasp**!

This one is "Time to Celebrate" from MFT Stamps.  Oh so cute with several sentiments to go along; I've used two sentiments for this card.  I also used Jen's Sketch For You to Try (SFYTT) for March 2011 - super great sketch, you can check it out HERE!

I used more of the Aqua Mist polka dot paper and then found this PERFECTLY matching paper - brand new - from MME Mabel paper pad.  Oh these papers are divine - LOVE THEM VERY MUCH!!

Lastly, I'm joining in Joanne's blogaversary challenge - I chose to use:
  • Twine
  • Kraft Card Stock (scrumptious)
  • Ledger paper (main image)

TFL; hope you have a great week and as the card says...why not make it a "Happy Day"!

Hugs, ~M.

Repeat Impressions CASE Karen

Um, let's call this a "loose interpretation" shall we?  tee hee

This week the Repeat Impressions Rock Stars are CASE'ing (Copy And Share Everything or Copy And Selectively Edit) our newest member, Karen.  Hop on over to The House That Stamps Built to see Karen's amazing and beautiful creation.

I used the same sentiment as Karen and I loved the blue and the scallops on her card; so a creating I did go.  Now mind you - mine doesn't really look blue at all, does it?  That's okay; I wuv it very much; I think it turned out super pretty and I love this sentiment!  I added Mushroom dimensional pearls to the scalloped border; they match the coloring (kraft and chocolate) so well!

I used Aqua Mist accented with Ivory, Kraft and Dark Chocolate (fat free mind you)!  The saddle stitch ribbon is also Aqua Mist but I colored the white stitching a light brown with my Copics.

Hope you'll join us with a creation of your very own.  As always; thanks for popping in, I have a SUPER, SUPER HEAVY heart right now, so I love having visitors!

Have a great Hump Day; hugs, ~M.

TLT - WOW Michele Style

Hey - THAT'S ME!  :D

This week the Ladybugs are doing WOW cards - white on white; only color allowed is on your main image.  Fun....I would have loved to add a button, some twine, etc., but I thought I should follow my own rules.  LOL

Be sure to join us over at the Challenge Blog to see all the great/amazing creations and then join the fun with your own WOW card.  We can't wait to see what you create.

I did a small card - 4.25" x 4.25" with lots of layers of white mounted with dimensionals.  I dry embossed two layers; I cut a circle out of the top layer and mounted it over the Cupcake Cutie colored bright and cheerful for a nice pop of color!  The image was colored with Copics.

Now go ahead - check out the blog and join the fun!  And remember, you don't have to use an LCI image to win!

Have a great week; hugs, ~M.

Vegas & Nascar TONS of pictures

Many people thought we'd be doing gambling while in Vegas - nope; never spent a dime gambling!  BUT we did spend some money to go to the races; I LOVE NASCAR and Tony Stewart is my favorite driver.  Hubby likes Jeff Gorden, our youngest daughter likes Kasey Kahne, our son likes Carl Edwards and our oldest, a teenager, thinks we're all rednecks.  HA!

Carl won the race - yeah for our son and Tony took 2nd - yeah for me!!  We had such a great time.

I took lots of pictures and a few times was close enough to reach out and touch the drivers...I didn't, although I'm sure my hubby was concerned I might!  I did holler, not too loudly, at one of the drivers we saw in the mall Saturday night so he would look up and I could take his picture (Joey Lagano)! LMBO

When I looked up, I couldn't find hubby; oh yeah, he was AT LEAST 30 paces ahead of me, so embarrassed that I had done that.!! Yeah - WHATEVER!

My BFF loves Bobby Labonte, she has always loved him. While we were in the Neon Garage (amazing experience) Friday, we found Bobby's garage area and I took lots of pictures - unfortunately, I never could get his face, but you can certainly tell it was him.

Yes, I walked RIGHT BY Kid Rock - he flashed me the peace sign when I recognized him, but I couldn't snap my picture that fast...bummer!

Most of the car pictures were when they were coming into the pits from practice and/or qualifying; I had to snap the picture quickly and it was tough to always time it 'just right'...not to mention I don't have a fancy camera, just point and click. :D

Anyway, a fun, fun, fun time!

I have more Vegas pictures which I'll share soon. Thanks for stopping by; hope you've enjoyed sharing our journey to Vegas!!

Repeat Impressions Blogaversary Hop

It's a Blogaversary Hop celebrating The House That Stamps Built 1 year anniversary!  Congrats Wendy and Bill; what a fun journey this first year has been; so privileged to serve on Wendy's design team.  She has selected some amazing crafters to represent her line and let me tell you, she has such a wide array of stamps!  Be sure to check them out HERE!

Today we want you to join the fun by visiting all the Rock Star's blogs to see their amazing creations; be sure you start and end at The House That Stamps Built and leave a comment for a chance to win a $35 gift certificate to Repeat Impressions (seriously, WHO doesn't love free shopping)!!

AND if you want more chances to win, create any card that celebrates, congratulates, or simply wishes The House That Stamps Built a Happy Anniversary and link it back to the Blogaversary Hop - easy peasy!!

I have used the gorgeous Vase of Tulips for my card; oh how I love this image; I think I say that about ALL Wendy's floral images.  :-)

The layout is from Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge #323; papers are from Basic Grey combined with PTI's Sweet Blush and Ripe Avocado card stock.  The main image panel is mounted with dimensionals and I finished it off with some gorgeous hand dyed crinkle ribbon tied in two bows (although it's hard to see since it's all crinkly - LOL); finished off with a PTI Ripe Avocado button and twine.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you'll take a few minutes and make a card too.  You have until March 16th to join the fun, the winner will be announced March 18!

And here's a quick list of all the Rock Stars:

Have a great weekend; hugs, ~M.
