Color Challenge meets Sketch Challenge

Hi friends!

Seems like I haven't had much time to play in any challenges for quite some time - but I LOVE challenges; always such a great jumping off point for creativity! This weekend I decided to combine the Color Throwdown Challenge (#503) with MFT's Sketch Challenge (#395) (photos below).

I stamped flowers and leaves on Canson watercolor paper - I know, even when coloring with Copics, I love using the Canson paper, odd, huh - stamped them a few times using my Misti because the paper is texturized. Once complete I colored with Copics and colored pencils then used a Sharpie to intensify the outline again.

I took a picture of two of the flowers because I decided to thicken the inside of the flower petal just slightly with my sharpie - the lower right flower has the thickened petals. I adhered the flowers to a circle. I then took a piece of Fog card stock and used MFT's Circle Burst Stencil. and sponged with Fog ink; then splattered some red, green and white ink. I adhered the flowers/leaves circle onto the Fog card stock and finally on to a Fog card base using fun foam. I added a vellum strip with a sentiment from Gina K Designs Dazzling Dahlia stamp set stamped in VersaFine ink and embossed with clear embossing powder and finished with some Neat and Tangled Like Magic sequins.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a GREAT week!

Hugs,

Sending Tons of Love

I'm back...said in my best Arnold voice! And this time I'm back with the feminine card which I made at the same time as THIS card. As I mentioned, I've really enjoyed working on a smaller focal point using the A2 Scalloped Vertical dies from Papertreyink (PTI); love the scalloped die which lets you create the fun card base or even just another layer to your cards!

Added some designer paper to the inside

This time I cut additional smaller pieces of both designer paper and vellum as well as cutting the scalloped piece from designer paper and card stock - so much color! Pretty color!! Same papers from Altenew - I just love these papers - and all the stamping, coloring is the same as the previous card! Added some Nuvo glue and chunky glitter to all the balloons.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a GREAT Friday and a FANTABULOUS weekend!

Hugs,

Hello Birthday Boy

HELLO FRIENDS!!

I told you I colored up several of these WPlus9 giraffes all at once so they are back for two more appearances this week - a more masculine card and a feminine one coming soon! I clearly love this stamp set; those big balloons, the sentiments, the adorable giraffes - lots to love!

I have also loved working on a bit smaller focal point using the A2 Scalloped Vertical dies from Papertreyink (PTI); I used it on both cards I will be showing this week. For this one, I layered the focal point onto another die cut - this one from MFT and then a regular base card. The one later this week, you'll see I used the cute scalloped die for the card base.

The designer paper is from Altenew; I used a portion of 3 different papers to die cut and stamp the balloons. I added glitter to just the bottom portion of the balloons for a fun detail. The clouds are from Right at Home (RAH) and stamped 2nd generation with MFTs Sno Cone; I also colored the sky area with a Copic BG0000; super light! The grass was colored with Copics and I used a nubby rag and Copic Colorless Blending Solution for some texture and colored pencils for the shadow.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you are having a great week! See you again soon!

You Lift Me Up!

While in the craft cave recently, I stamped several of these giraffes from WPlus9's Party Animal set on water color paper and colored with copics. I have a few more cards to share - what a great way to build your stash; I colored the giraffes in one sitting and then have worked on the cards as time has permitted.

I stamped the Grid background (from RAH) with SSS London Fog; die cut the partial balloon from a little floral tag I had. Colored the grass with copics and colored pencils, stamped the sentiment and assembled everything. Once complete, I die cut the scalloped vertical card base from PTI's Berry Sorbet and sponged with matching ink using Altenew's Halftone stencil.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a GREAT day!

Go Wild!

I had this vision in my mind but I just couldn't make it work, so I modified my idea and this was the finished card. Combining a few sets from WPlus9: Tropic Fever and Party Animal with some ink smooshing and die cutting (Trellis Background 2). I stamped some leaves after smooshing ink, then smooshed more oxide ink on some scrap paper and die cut 3 more leaves and adhered at the bottom of the circle with foam tape.

Love the background, a soft ivory over PTI's Ocean Tides; I thought it matched really well with the Distress Oxide Inks. The giraffe was stamped, die cut and colored with Copics.

Thanks for stopping by - hope your day is WILD!

Sparkly Shaker Thanks

Hi friends - hope you are enjoying a great summer; ours has been very up and down, this past weekend was ALL DOWN. Here's a picture with a clear description of why it was such a difficult weekend; BUT I saw SSS is carrying a new stamp line: Colorado Craft Company, have you heard of them? I had not, but one set has this quote that was so touching to me today: "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal. LOVE leaves a MEMORY no one can steal." - how awesome is THAT, gosh, I just love it!
Left home with a 35 lb. spitfire little girl knowing the outcome may not be what we hoped.
Returned with an empty collar and leash. #hearbroken

Anyway, let's move on to happier topics. :D Our youngest daughter recently had the opportunity to participate in a medical shadowing program in St. Cloud, MN - you shadow a different doctor every day; such a great experience. We know the doctor that leads the program, he helps students prepare as they are ready to start applying to medical school; she's not there yet, but never too soon to shadow doctors. She had a BLAST! She stayed with the head doc and his wife; they had talked on the phone a few times before she arrived telling her there were weekends they would be traveling so she would be home alone, well...that lasted - NEVER! She was quickly adopted into their family traveling every single weekend with them; even participating in their grandson's first birthday. LOL Needless to say, what an experience.

I wanted to be sure we sent them a special card. I also ordered cookies from: Heidi's Heavenly Cookies; our daughter had told me they really like sweets, having dessert with almost every meal; so the cookies were a huge hit!

The card uses Reverse Confetti THANKS cut combined with SSS Even More Spring Flowers. I watered colored the flowers then finished them off with Zig Clean Clear Brushes for more vibrant colors. I added Nuvo shimmer to all the flowers and the word THANKS after coloring ombre with Zigs.

The background uses the smooshing technique - THAT'S all kinds of official - of a few distress colors. Once dry, I stamped the IndigobBlu Honeycomb background with Versamark and dusted with Perfect Pearls. I flicked on some white paint then assembled the shaker card with some beautiful sequins - also adding a few to the outside and adding a dot of Nuvo crystals drops to each.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great week!

Hugs,
