Happy, happy Monday, how was your weekend? After my 55+ hour work week last week, I enjoyed a VERY lazy weekend - laundry, nap, create, nap, dinner out, bedtime...yeah, that pretty much sums it up. HA!
This week at The House That Stamps Built we're sharing the Stamp of the Week - Summer Frame. You can purchase this same image for 50% off this week only, so be sure to stop by The House That Stamps Built to get all the deets.
Is this little girl not just the cutest? I loved when my little girls were toddlers, they always looks SO CUTE in their little swimsuits; still chubby and adorable! :D The letters and brackets are rub-ons which I added to the twill ribbon (I can't write in a straight line...obviously I can't do rub-ons in a straight line either!?!)
Thanks for stopping by, don't forget to hop over to The House That Stamps Built to check out the great deal AND see all the other amazing creations by the Rock Stars!
...summer and swimming....
Hugs, M.

Cupcake Inspriations #121 - JLJ Designs
It's time for another amazing Cupcake Inspirations challenge!
This week we are sponsored by JLJ Designs; another great place to purchase digi images and AMAZING digi paper - in fact, Jen designed some new polka dot digi paper specifically for this challenge - talk about ADORABLE. Yea...my plan was to use that new polka dot paper but my printer did not feel that was necessary - HMPH!!!!
AND the amazing Cupcake Inspiration picture - how cute is THAT? LOVE it so much! And since my printer did not want me using the new digi paper, (hmph again), I decided to focus more on the colors...and of course I went with a cupcake image - this one from Verve Visual!
The layout is Viva la Verve August, week 1 - super sweet layout As you can see, I didn't use the heart but instead reached for a big ole doily - dang, I love those things! I want them in all different sizes...hint, hint for anyone buying me a Christmas gift. LMBO!
The rest is straight-forward stamping and layering, nothing too fancy. BUT this card is made for a very, very special young lady. It's for our daughter's boyfriend's sister - hope she likes it! I love the little heart button and I've seen others have some fun with extra twine from the button so I decided to play along with that new trend too!
Go ahead; take some inspiration from that super cute dinosaur cake and join in the fun!
...delicious dinosaurs...
Hugs, ~M.

SSS118 and Fun in the Sun (Pink Elephant)
Shortest post I have EVER written; work is kicking my patootie! I have worked 12+ hours the last two days and have 2 more days just like these!!! I did this when I was young and single, NOT when I had 3 kids, a hubby, sports, and other commitments! UGH.
Anyway, quick card I made using the Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge #118 and The Pink Elephant's Fun in the Sun challenge.
No time for more; gotta get some rest!
Have a great week!

Repeat Impressions What If? Wednesday
Hello friends; happy Hump Day!
The Rock Stars are back with another What If? Wednesday over at The House That Stamps Built; Wendy offered up another great sketch this week and there is a $25 gift certificate up for grabs, so be sure to play along!
You know me - I took some liberties with the sketch...I'm such a rebel eh? :D
This huge butterfly is another one of Wendy's amazing Summer images; remember THIS card? It uses the little butterfly - see how huge this one is? Magnificent for coloring!!
I cut a small portion of the doily off and sponged the edges with VersaMagic Wheat and Aegean Blue; added another crocheted flower - the center of this one is pink, but once again I covered it with a PTI Pure Poppy button and some cotton candy baker's twine - yummy! I also added glitter to several places on the butterfly with a clear Spica glitter pen - but nearly impossible to see in the pictures. BTW, Wendy is now carrying the Spica glitter pens in her store - get 'em while you can...HERE.
Be sure to check out what the other Rock Stars have created and then play along!
...big beautiful butterfly...
Hugs, ~M.

Glitterbabe - AGAIN!
Happy Monday friends; ready to get this week started? Yeah, me either! :D
Remember THIS card? Yeah, you better look so you can see what fun you can have with digi images. This image is from Glitterbabe and I used the SAME flower but made it really big so it could stand alone as the focal point!
I colored that beauty up with various blue/violet Copics and then cut it out. I adhered it to the front of a small library pocket card that I covered with some misc. DP and inside that little pocket? Well we hid some money for the birthday girl - same amount as her age! Cool eh?
I edged the tiny Kraft sack in the same striped paper as the library pocket card and punched it with a EK Success border punch and tied on our flower pocket; inserted some fun gifts - lip gloss, decorative post-it notes, Hubba Bubba gum..and something else, just can't remember. Oh I though it turned out cute; hope the birthday girl liked it!
Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great week!

Cupcake Inspriations #120 - Paper Pretties
It's time for another amazing Cupcake Inspirations challenge!
This week we are sponsored by Paper Pretties; another great place to purchase digi images OR lots of other products!
AND the amazing Cupcake Inspiration picture - these are just flat out cute and clever! Not sure my creation has much in common beyond CUPCAKES. LOL
I was so inspired by a recent tag made by Jen del Muro that I wanted to make one too! I printed my image onto GKD white and cut it out with this super cool nestie shape; I used some older Basic Grey Paper - Olivia; but I still love the colors! Added some Berry Sorbet saddle stitch ribbon and some funky black/white striped ribbon at the top; the "cupcake" quote is from MFT stamps and I love that little PTI button; it's just so cool IRL! I added Pink Petal dimensional pearls to the cupcake stand and then white enamel dots to the cupcakes and cherries, finished those cherries off with glossy accents. What a cute, fun and fabby image. See the icing on the cupcakes? Look close, they are actually hearts - BRILLIANT!
Go ahead; take some inspiration from those super cute cupcakes and join in the fun!

MOJO 200!
The amazing MOJO Monday Sketch Challenge blog is celebrating their 200th sketch. W-O-W! And not only is it their 200th sketch; they have a whole new look. Go ahead, check it out HERE, I'll wait! :D
For such a great celebration, I wanted to play along. I used one of my favorite Verve stamp sets - Blue Skies. Amazing quotes, beautiful butterflies, delicate swirls and my favorite? Notebook paper!
I used lots of various DP by My Mind's Eye...ah, how I adore thee paper! I used distressing, DTP ink edging, a quilting embossing folder (tough to see in the photos, but you "might" be able to get a glimpse in the photo with the butterfly). The flower is made from a paperback book and spritzed with Chocolate glimmer mist, tied together with a yellow jeweled brad in the middle and mounted on 2 different die-cut doilies. I stamped the smallest butterfly on GKD Cream paper, colored with Copics, cut out and added two layers of glitter using a clear Spica glitter pen. So pretty IRL!
Some crocheted ribbon, sewing and 5 butterflies stamped on the inside of the card finish it off! Love the colors - not my norm; but I like it!
Thanks for visiting!

Repeat Impressions Blog Hop
IT'S FRIDAY - are you ready for the weekend? I am, although I would like to request temps BELOW 102 degrees please!!! :)
Wendy, owner and illustrator of Repeat Impressions, has released a new line of stamps - ALL perfect for summertime, and to celebrate we are having a blog hop! You'll want to start off at The House That Stamps Built for all the details, but in case you get lost; here is a list of the participating Rock Stars:
Darsie
Dawn
Harriet
Joy
Karen
Lynette
Makiko
Michele - YOU ARE HERE!
Miriam
Robin
Each Rock Star is featuring a "word"; you must collect all the words throughout the hop and e-mail them to Wendy at wendy@repeatimpressions.com for a chance to win the grand prize - AN UNMOUNTED SHEET OF THE ***NEW*** SUMMER STAMPS! Scrumptious I'm telling you, just scrumptious! Oh yeah...put all the words in the "right" order to create a phrase, and you will be put in the drawing TWO TIMES for the chance to win! Now that's an incredible prize from Wendy!
Enjoy the hop....but before you go, let's take a look at my project. Remember THIS card?
Well, see those ice cream images...that's what I used to create this fun 3D item, for our youngest daughter - what says summer more than flip flops and ice cream, right? Well, give me a beach too please. LOL
I used the delightful "ice cream" image from the new stamps - it's actually 2 popsicles and 1 ice cream cone all as one large image (see image from card above)! I stamped the image repeatedly on shrink plastic then proceeded to stamp some of the ice cream with smaller images or color them in completely with Copics and Sharpies. I let them dry, then cut out each image, punched a hole and shrunk them. Oh gosh, I do love shrinky dinks!
I then put together this little bracelet - it includes 3 store-bought charms; the initial to her first name, the green flip flops and a charm that says 'LOVE'; then in between all those I added the ice cream - Eeeeeekkkkk, how fun and cute is THAT? AND I even got her to model for us! Cute hand/arm; she's getting tan, can you tell?
So see, stamps aren't just for cards and scrapbooks - they make GREAT jewelry and can be used like this or with clay, endless possibilities and Wendy's images rock!
Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great weekend! Enjoy the hop!
...summertime, sunshine, flip flops and Repeat Impressions ice cream...
Hugs, M.

Repeat Impressions - What If? Wednesday
Hello friends; happy Hump Day!
The Rock Stars are back with another What If? Wednesday over at The House That Stamps Built; Wendy offered up another great sketch this week and there is a $25 gift certificate up for grabs, so be sure to play along!
I kinda ran out of room to complete the exact sketch because I was determined to use this image. LOL BUT for some extra flair, I added some REAL popsicle sticks on the left-hand side. :D
This ice cream popsicle image is a brand new image from Repeat Impressions and I LOVE IT!!! I just could not wait to use it - AND - I stamped each image out of felt. How cool is that? I just love them!
I stamped the image onto some PTI Rustice White and colored in the popsicle sticks; then everything else was stamped again on felt and cut out. I added some shading to the 'cone' and to the yellow popsicle using my Copics.
Hope you'll check out what the other Rock Stars have created and then play along!

Oh yeah baby...know what tomorrow is?
IT. IS. MY. BIRFDAY...and I LOVE my birfday SO MUCH!!!
Just ask any of the Ladybugs...I think they are beginning to understand my joy over my birfday. Not sure why; but I have ALWAYS been like this - I drive everyone nuts! I've been known to wear a tiara all day, carry a flashing magical wand, stand on my chair and blow bubbles...oh the things I will do for my birfday!
Anyway, I found some time to craft tonight (the EVE of the big day, my birthday is actually July 12), yeah, it's really pretty close to being declared a national holiday here in the US - just you wait)! (giggle)
OK, I think you get the basic idea, right? So anyway, I wanted to make a birthday card with some new stamps I received for my birthday. The package came from overseas and on the back it said "do not open till 12/07/11"...yes, I know how they write their date (day, month, year) but I giggled and said "why would someone want me to wait until 12/07/11 (month, day, year) to open it"...so I opened it immediately. tee hee
I'm such a mess.
Anyway for this creation, I used the Mojo Monday Sketch #199; great layout and more MME DP, yummy! A doily cut with a PTI die, a scalloped circle, scalloped border, some scrumptious colors all tied off with Berry Sorbet twill ribbon.
And that's a wrap (hope I get lots of wrapped presents) - tee hee!!!
Have a great day!
...the birthday princess...
Hugs, ~M.
