Another I do!

Hello there!

I have made MORE wedding cards this summer than I've made since I started making cards! LOL The summer of weddings!

This one was navy blue; so yep; I used the wedding gown image I love, some fun navy blue paper that has tinting of black in it, some black, some white, LOTS of pearls, some embossed vellum and of course, some embossed hearts. Fun!!

Thanks for stopping by; have a great week!!

You look fantastic!

Now you say it back to me!

HA - isn't that the most hilarious sentiment you've ever seen? I. LOVE. IT. SO. MUCH!!!  :D

I colored up this City Divine image from Inky Antics - obviously used the WRONG kind of paper for coloring, but I still think it's cute! :(

The tab holds the first half of the sentiment, "You look fantastic!"; I added the rest to the inside, "Now you say it back to me!".

Good for a chuckle or two! DP is by MME (of course).

PS - if someone is really good with Photoshop 6.0 and can help me correct where the ink seeped out, PLEASE MESSAGE ME!! I tried the spot healing tool...but truth be told? I suck at it!  HA! (you can e-mail me at whimsicalexpressions @ yahoo dot com), gotta stop the spam bots anyway you can.

Fresh Brewed

Welcome back to another week at Cupcake Inspirations.

We are sponsored this week by:
Our inspiration cupcake for this week (yeah, some of you are serious Starbucks lovers, eh?):

Whereas me? I haven't found a drink yet at Starbucks that I need/want/desire. :( Guess it saves me a few pennies right? But I do love those little cupcakes though, they look divine!

So I'm using one of the images from Fresh Brewed- LOVE. THIS. CUP. so much. I wish I had a printer at home, I would have LOVED to paper piece several parts of the cup...but I don't, so my coloring had to see me through!

The layout is Jen's SFYTT and the colors are inspired by CR84FN. I actually have another card using Jen's SFYTT, but I haven't shown it yet - maybe later this week - it's an ALL-AMERICAN card!!!

Doesn't that sentiment make you giggle (I have had too much caffeine...I can't even blink)?

Thanks for popping in - I truly appreciate your visit!

Love

This card is all about love - two people celebrating many years of marriage! They married in the 70's with colors of pink, green, blue, yellow...you know, 70's colors! LOL We gave this card an upgrade going for classy black, white and a pop of red!

The sentiment is from Verve Visual's "Stronger Love"; I colored the heart, filled it with glossy accents and then topped it with rock crystal glitter. The flower was cut from various designer paper and sewn together with some red/white twine and a black button.
Inside
The layout is last week's MOJO sketch (#258). I really like those 2 embellies at the top - they can be whatever, I just chose to follow the sketch and add two 1/2 circles. The sentiment is stamped on white, layered on black, layered on white, layered on red. :D So...I like me some layers!!

Thanks for peeking in - hope to see you again soon!

MFTWSC89 Sympathy

Sympathy cards are tough! But time and time again, I turn to Verve's Forever In Our Hearts stamp set; I think the sentiments are perfect!

A friend asked for a sympathy card - she requested pink/mauve and said the recipient likes music, so I took those two pieces and incorporated them into this card. The layout is MFT's Wednesday sketch challenge #89 (MFTWSC89).

I should have switched my buttons over to the left side of the card...but yeah...they were already glued down when I realized that. *oops*

Thanks for stopping by - hope you have a great week!

Move it, move it, move it...

Are you singing along or do you know that song? Well - this week at Crafty Creations we're creating projects that MOVE! And boy...it really had me stumped - I thought of lots of different things but nothing was clicking; I finally just sat down in my craft room with an idea, then went to look for a sketch that fit with my thoughts - yeah, I have an addiction..it's called SKETCHES! I used an older Mojo Monday Sketch (#241).

I have lots of pictures and I used lots of new stuff, lots of ink, some sewing, some glossy accents topped with rock crystal glitter and here we go:

Card closed

Card front turned so that it reveals the sentiment, "friends until the end"!

So...what do you  think? I love that the top spins open to reveal the inside; I thought it turned out pretty cool! I used lots and lots of distress ink:  Spun Silk, Victorian Velvet and Aged Mahogany, I also sponged on some VersaMagic Pixie Dust. The flowers are from Verve's Brighter Days; the dies for the flower and the leaves were just released too. The cute little butterfly is from Doodled Occasions, also from Verve.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you'll get your cards moving and join this super fun challenge over at Crafty Creations!

It's another week at Cupcake Inspirations and we are sponsored by Prairie Fairy. Check out this adorable inspiration photo:

CIC177 September 9

ABSOLUTELY. ADORABLE...!!!

I have a friend that LOVES bubble baths...me personally? Can't remember the last time I had a bath...oh STOP IT - I take showers! HA!

I couldn't resist giving my sweet little Gilly from Prairie Fairy her own pink bathtub - seriously, if you had a bathtub this beautiful, you'd take a bubble bath every day, right?

She's colored with Copics with some glossy accents for her glasses and bubbles! Layout is Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch #167; absolutely love this layout!
Thanks for popping in; hope you're having a great weekend!

Hey, Sassy Pants

I cannot type that title without laughing - someone at work calls me "sassy pants" quite regularly...and it's kinda true! In fact, just this week I received an e-mail from this person which said something like "you're in charge sassy pants" - HA HA HA! Makes me giggle.

Needless to say, when MFT came out with Cute-a-tude, I knew I had to have it - just a matter of time! I got it and I could not WAIT to use it...and here she is with all her Cute-a-tude goin' on! I used MFT's Wednesday Sketch Challenge for the layout - talk about a great layout; truly enjoyed this one. Some delightful papers from MME; some paper piecing of her dress and flower in her hair, a little bling and a paperback book flower with a red heart center finished it off. I had a ton of fun creating this card. Oh yes, I also paper-pieced her arms since they are on top of her dress...otherwise it would have looked goofy!

I posted a picture on FB when I had her dress and arms cut out for paper piecing that said "look ma - playing with paper dolls" - that's exactly what it looked like!

Oh...and before I forget, I purchased the Whip Cream card stock from MFT, that's what little Cute-a-tude is stamped on - it worked great for coloring!!

Thanks for popping in; hope you have a great weekend!!

HB2U

Hi there!

How's everybody doing? We're still managing our allergies - unfortunately I think 2 of our babes now have colds. Happens every year when school starts - all those new germs flying around! HA!

Me? Well, people at work have asked if I'm tired of sneezing yet...um...yes, yes I am AND my nose is raw from blowing it! :( Ragweed is still off-the-charts high, so it'll be awhile before my allergies calm down...but they will...eventually!

A friend at work asked me to make a card for her boyfriend's sister - she's a young teenager who loves blue and purple - alas, I tried to hit those marks! I aim to please!

I love the size of this card - 5 1/2" x 3 1/4" - I should remember that, it was super fun to work with! The image is "City Divine" from Penny Black, colored with Copics and colored pencils. A bit of bling on her pocket - you know, like Miss Me jeans (peeps, do you KNOW how expensive those jeans are? Sheesh - let me bling your jeans, costs a lot less - LMBO)...oops, SQUIRREL!!

I used Verve's pennant banner and stamped the letters/number in PTI's Royal Velvet ink, added a few purple gems in between. I also added some funky stitching around the polka dot panel. Fun, girly...with some purple and blue!

Thanks for popping in; hope you have a great rest of the week!
