Repeat Impressions WIW

This week we have another fabulous Repeat Impression sketch by Wendy - lovin' it!

Here's the sketch, here's my interpretation and here's what I've learned about myself:

  • Sometimes I am stubborn!

  • So stubborn, that even when I see the image is too large for the sketch, I STILL won't give up!

  • Even when I flip the sketch & can't make it work, I STILL won't give up!

  • Even when I see I can't meet all the elements of the sketch, I STILL won't give up.

K, in summary?  I.AM.REALLY.STUBBORN.  Part II - hope Wendy doesn't fire me!  :D

HA!

K, back to my card; I just love this penguin image and wanted to use it (refer to above notes).  I stamped several RI miscellaneous sentiment stamps on Basic Grey's white paper pad; love how it turned out, I used PTI Pure Poppy and Dark Chocolate.  I distressed the polka dot & kraft paper and edged them with Antique Linen Distress Ink.

I cut the snowflake out, sponged while still in the die and then added glitter with a Quickie Glue Pen; added some Dark Chocolate grosgrain topped with baker's chocolate twine.  I also added a button to the snowflake & tied it off with the baker's chocolate twine.

Totally Ladybug Tuesday - Caz's Way!

Caz came up with the "coolest" challenge - you choose your favorite color from the color wheel THEN you have to use the color on the OPPOSITE side!  Typically a color a card creator prefers not to use.  LOL

What a great challenge!  I really don't have a "favorite" color when it comes to creating cards - I do have a few colors I prefer NOT to use; but since I had to pick my favorite, I went with pink...as you can see, I needed to make a green card.

BTW, there are lots of DT members with green cards this week - I went for a greenish-blueish card and I like it!  I really love this image - Martini Nikki - isn't she GREAT?

Before I forget, Kerry (Queen Whiplash) is offering an amazing sale for the month of December; buy 1 Ladybug Crafts Ink (LCI) stamp, get 1 at 1/2 price; buy 2 LCI stamps, get 2 at 1/2 price.  If you were "thinking" about buying any of Kerry's incredible stamps - now is the time AND while you're at it - go ahead, add a few to your wishlist, Santa just might bring you some!

OK, on to my card; I used Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #94 - a FAVORITE, definitely will use this one again!  You can see I made Martini Nikki's shirt & her sidekick's pillow sparkly; really, what girl doesn't love a bit of sparkle?

I also drew in the wall & the wooden floor - what do you think?  I thought it turned out pretty decent...

Please stop by the TLT challenge blog Ladybug Crafts Ink to see all the amazing creations and then join us yourself - always a great prize in store!

Have a great week; hugs, ~M.

MTSC101

I loved Mercy's sketch this week so set about making a card for fun!  Here's the final result:

I used Verve Visual's Dream Big set for the flowers and a freebie "Thanks" stamp.  The flowers were stamped in PTI's Berry Sorbet and the edges were highlighted with PTI's Pure Poppy.  I edged the flowers and nestie in Antique Linen Distress Ink; the DP and other layers were sponged with Pumice Stone Distress Ink.

The two smaller flowers were cut out and adhered with dimensionals; I added a PTI Spring Rain button in the middle threaded with black hemp.  The pearls were purchased from Sharon Johnson (No Time To Stamp); they are called Bliss and are the lightest, most beautiful blue.

Thanks for popping in; hope you're having a great weekend!  We're headed to the hockey game tonight, then tomorrow I'll need to work for a few hours so I can tolerate Monday - LOL!

Hugs, ~M.

TLT - MY SKETCH!

How exciting - I designed a sketch for the TLT Ladybugs and they each created something with my sketch - how cool is THAT?

Here is the sketch:

And here's my creation....ah, the joy  of a sketch; it's just a jumping off point!  :D

You can see I flipped the sketch AND didn't use a sentiment - wonder if Queen Whiplash is going to use her whip on me?  Hmmm...the chances I take sometimes, I'm tellin' ya!

I used Roaster Nikki - I LOVE this image; absolutely adorable and SO MUCH FUN to color!  As our youngest daughter was critiquing my work yesterday she stated "there's only one problem"; I'm like "really, what is it?"; she said "her car doesn't have a review mirror".  LMBO

The simplicity and honesty of kids - gotta love 'em!

Roaster Nikki is so darn fashionable, don't you think?  AND she has flower power going on - she has got it all!  I used 2 different colors of crinkle ribbon which I purchased from Mish Mash's etsy shop - LOVE that stuff, I don't use it near enough!  Of course, I ruffled it up; just love that look!

Can you see the windshield & lights?  I added Glossy Accents and just love the cool effect it adds.

The Ladybugs have done a GREAT job with the sketch, please hop on over and take a peek at their creations (HERE) AND for those crafters reading this, won't you join us?  There are always great prizes and bragging rights to be won!  Don't be shy, get your mojo on and let it shine!

And, you've got exactly one week left to take advantage of the 15% discount using the code CB2010 in the Ladybug Crafts Ink online store.  They would make a great stocking stuff & don't forget, there is free postage WORLD WILD for orders over £20!!

Thanks for stopping by; hope you're having a great week!  Hugs, ~M.

Forever In Our Hearts

I'm telling you; aren't sympathy cards just the hardest to do?  Urgh; breaks my heart - particularly this one.  But, let's skip the details of why and just move on to the creation, K?  I didn't think you would mind!

I used Mercy's 100th sketch - kinda cool eh?  You can see the sketch HERE; the papers are Sugardrop from Memory Box - I always seem to turn to these papers for sympathy cards, so soft and subtle - love 'em!  Everything was sponged in VersaMagic Jumbo Java.  The sentiment was also stamped in the same ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.

I have had the Zva Crystals F-O-R-E-V-E-R...they are actually 2 shades of pink intertwined and so beautiful; delighted I could use them on this card!

I added mushroom colored dots to the scalloped circle (Adirondack Dimensionals), such a beautiful and unique color; I thought it worked really well with the papers.

Thanks for popping by; I hope you have a GREAT weekend!  Hugs, ~M.

I chose to use Santa's Friend again because I just love this image! I basically used the same colors as my "Mitten" card earlier this week - so soft and subtle.

TLT - X-Mas Sparkle

Ah man, I feel like my card is a fail!! LOL You can't see the sparkle, but it's there, I promise!

I used Nikki & Buttercup Snow Angels - now seriously, is this image not just adorable? I added some tassels to Nikki's scarf cuz I wanted to! :D

I'm a rebel like that ya know...right Queen Whiplash?

I based the colors upon the Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses DP. All Nikki's "fur" is covered with white flock - including her boots!

The snow was made with Fluffy Stuff & MS Clear Glitter which I let dry and then hit with my heat gun for the puffiness. See...THERE . IS . GLITTER!

HA!

Nikki & Buttercup look like they are having a blast playing in the snow!

Be sure to head over to the Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge Blog to check out this week's challenge - XMAS SPARKLE and join the fun; we're having a blast with these challenges and we want YOU to join us! And aren't those creations by the Ladybugs just amazing? I love seeing what everyone creates each week!

Thanks for hanging out with me; hope your day is GREAT! Hugs, ~M.

PS - totally non-stamping related; here's a picture of my son's finger. He wrapped this rubber band type thing around it and said "is it bad when my finger turns purple?". I tried to remain calm...this is what it looked like when he took the band off - DORK (age 10)! LOL

RI Stamp of the Week - Mitten

Oh, what a sweet Repeat Impressions image this is - MITTEN! I had a blast making this card; totally CAS, but I love it!

This is Repeat Impressions Stamp of the Week (SOTW) which means YOU can purchase this same image for 50% off! You can see all the deets at The House That Stamps Built. This image is a single mitten, but you can see I used the reverse stamping technique to get a mitten facing each way!

:D

Happy bouncin' - oh yeah!

I stamped one black mitten and then a 2nd reverse image black mitten; then the two mittens were stamped on Basic Grey's Eskimo Kisses paper; love the soft blue and green. I shaded the zig zag lines with a grey Copic, sponged each Nestie and added glitter to the cuff of the mittens. Used PTI's buttons, added two dry embossed lines and that's it. So CAS!

Be sure to check out all the other Rock Stars and their creations:
Thanks for stopping by; have a GREAT week! Hugs, ~M.
