Crafts 4 Eternity - Emboss It!

Hi friends - I'm back with another fun recipe from Crafts 4 Eternity - emboss it! Dry or wet embossing - you choose. One lucky participant will win 3 free downloads from Stamping All Day; hope you can find some time to join the fun.

I made this card in January for our son's birthday - thought it was perfect for him. He loves orange - he was born with ORANGE hair - I kid you not (I'll try to add a picture as proof very soon)...but it's an incredibly gorgeous auburn color now that people are forever talking about. Or maybe they are talking about how a blonde hair girl and brown hair boy ended up with a redhead!?! ;)

Anywho, I embossed this great image from Inkadinkado "In The Groove" on Tim Holtz watercolor paper then used the bouncing brayer technique to add color. When I went to wipe off the embossed image, I accidentally smeared some of the distress ink - I loved the accident so much, I just smeared the rest around the image - HA!

I used the "U" die from Verve Visual and the "rock" stamp from MFT's Gift Card Greetings.

Thanks for popping in; hope you have a great weekend!

Hugs,

Fun Times with a Friend - CHALLENGE

Hi friends - how are you? I spent the weekend with the man of my dreams celebrating our anniversary; we crammed A LOT into a little over 24 hours; fun, fun times. I am a blessed girl!

Prior to the loss of our doggy last week, I had reached out to a sweet friend - Tammy - at Highland Homemade for a challenge. I'm always looking for friends that will do an exchange challenge - you know, something like using the same image, or a sketch, or a color theme - SOMETHING - and that poor girl said yes. HA HA, she's such a great sport.

BTW if you didn't know, Tammy owns all the dies in the world; you know that game where the one with the most ____fill in the blank____ wins? Yeah, she wins when it comes to the dies - seriously; you should stalk her Facebook page when she shows her dies - it will BLOW. YOUR. MIND., but she's an absolutely doll. So for the challenge, I threw out black chevron and birthday; she threw out 'with a hint of yellow and pink'.

So...here's my creation; you can see Tammy's creation HERE - I can't wait to see it, she does such amazing work!

I used a piece of Tim Holtz watercolor paper and laid down some spun sugar, picked raspberry and mustard seed. You can't tell from the pictures. but after it was dry, I painted on a layer of MFT's shimmer mist - it is soooo sparkly IRL!! I then cut 3 rickrack (looks like chevron, right? :D) pieces using PTI's small rickrack die and mounted the entire piece with dimensionals on black card stock. Then I layered it on to MFT's Pink Lemonade keeping it very simple and letting the sparkly watercolor piece really shine. The sentiment is from Verve's Doodled Occasions stamped in VersaFine black and embossed with Ranger's black embossing powder; finished it off with 3 soft white sequins, also from Verve.

Crafts 4 Eternity - Circles

Hi friends-hope your weekend is off to a great start. I am scrambling to get caught up and several things done before the hubs and I set off for a quick trip out-of-state to celebrate our anniversary; a/k/a I GET SPOILED ROTTEN.
From Millan.Net

This week at Crafts 4 Eternity, the recipe is CIRCLES; so much you can do - gotta admit, I went a little boring but I did have fun water coloring. Man, it takes practice; when I grow up, I want to be as good as Sandy Allnock, the most amazing part? She just started water coloring recently - think less than 6 months ago!

I used this adorable cupcake from Verve Visual stamping it in VersaFine black and embossing with black embossing powder (help a newbie stay in the lines)! I colored the image with Distress Markers and added a double layer of Clear Wink of Stella to the top of the cupcake. Some fun vintage-y paper, distressing with both a tool and more distress ink and some stitching finishes it off. Layout is Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch (see below).

Hope you have a great weekend; be sure to check out all the fab creations at our blog AND then join the fun!

Hugs,

2 Cute Ink - Pitbull Pug color challenge

Hi friends - hope you had a good weekend; ours was busy...and interesting. :D

We are back this week at 2 Cute Ink to share a fun new image - Pitbull Pug - and a color challenge so you can join the fun! We are using brown, blue and green - you can use the color chart below but your colors don't need to be exact.

I needed one more mini Valentine card (like THESE TWO and THIS one), so I decided this little doggy would be perfect to say "I ruff you!" The main panel is actually a Project Life card with the sewing already there - goodness sakes, I'm certain I could not sew that heart or those straight arrows - HA! They were green too; how perfect is that! I printed the pup on Kraft paper and colored with pencils and OMS; cut him out and layered it on the main panel with some hearts. I shaded the vellum heart with a Copic marker for a faint blue color. The background was stamped with MFT's Linen Background; then I used a stencil for the arrows down the side; poured on some embossing powder, intentionally rubbing it off in a few places and voila, a cute, simple little Valentine card.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a GREAT week!!

Hugs,

Happy Valentine's Day - 2015

Hi friends - happy Valentine's Day!

Earlier this week I shared the card I made for our son - I always find masculine cards more difficult, not to mention teenage boys! :-/ BUT God blessed us with 2 girls so I pulled out all the treasures - glitter, hearts, glossy accents, thread, you name it and created these super fun/small Valentine's cards with only ONE small piece of stamping on one of the cards - that's it, everything else is scraps and ephemera I've had on hand for...um, well, let's not discuss the time frame mm....kk...??? :D

I had tons of fun making these seeing how many things I could add; including some modeling paste hearts for a bit more dimension. The original focal point cards are from PTI's Monthly Moments 2014 collection - yes, a year ago! But they were the perfect jumping off point for colors and the rest of the ephemera called Be Loved.

Hope your day is filled with a little extra love!

Crafts 4 Eternity - Two's

Hi friends - how was your week? Ready for Valentine's Day? Any big plans?

Our oldest will be home from college and we will celebrate her birthday; she celebrated her birthday on 2/10 - the first one (of many) away from us. *sniff, sniff* Can't wait to see her!

So this week at Crafts 4 Eternity, we're celebrating by using "two's"; two designer papers, two buttons, two die cuts, etc. One lucky person will win 4 images from Sassy Studio Designs so take some time to join the fun!

I'm using the super cute Bunny Balloon image from 2 Cute Ink which just happens to have 2 balloons - that's a good start right? I also added 2 flags, 2 cute little rub-on clouds, and 2 die cuts (the pink polka dot layer and the angled main panel, the grey behind it was hand cut, it's not a die). Fun, fun. I adore this image; quickly added a computer generated sentiment broken into what? 2 lines of course!!

The image was colored with Copics, background was sponged with Tumbled Glass distress ink, a fun button finishes it off.

Thanks for popping by; hope you will join the fun!

Hugs,

2 Cute Ink Shamrock Bear

Hi friends!

Are you signed up for the 2 Cute Ink newsletter? You can also follow them on Facebook; Heidi posts lots of fun stuff there too! By subscribing to the newsletter, you will receive a free image every single month and February's is this adorable Shamrock Bear!

I saw where one of the 2 Cute Ink customers took the Shamrock Bear and used him for a Valentine and I LOVED the idea...so I borrowed it, with permission of course! I made each of our kiddo's a very small little Valentine card and this is our son's - obviously I didn't think he would be thrilled with lots of glitter, sparkles, glossiness and ephemera so I went with a bit more subdued card. :D He'll appreciate that I'm sure - he's a young teenage boy - LOL! Now the girls? Yeah, there's has all the above on it - HA!

I colored the little bear with Copics and pieced it all together using scraps here and there to decorate the card. I love that you can resize digital images - works like a charm!!

Thanks for stopping by - hope you are having a GREAT week; I'll see you again soon with the Valentine's cards I made for the girls. Take care!

Crafts 4 Eternity - With Love

It's February - that means love is in the air and that's no exception at Crafts 4 Eternity! We're celebrating this week with a Valentine/Love Theme - hope you will join the fun. One lucky participant will win 3 digital stamps from the Crafts 4 Eternity store.

I always love creating cards for Valentine's Day; I don't think I've made as many this year as years past, but it's still my favorite holiday to create around! The front of this card is from PTI's Monthly Moments set from last year - February 2014. I stamped the "U" and then embossed the 'love' with some zing embossing powder. You can't tell in the pictures, but I added clear Wink of Stella to each heart and applied glossy accents to 3 of the hearts. Finished it off with some distressing and sparkly enamels dots.

I used the Fusion challenge picture as my inspiration (see below).

Thanks for stopping by - hope you have a GREAT weekend!

2 Cute Ink - Valentine's

Hi friends - we're back with another fabulous image from Heidi of 2 Cute Ink; this one is called Sweet and Salty. I have this mini popcorn treat from Graze, love their snacks; you can check them out here, so I created a little valentine tag and treat bag.

By the way, if you'd like to try Graze for free, you can use this friend code (43YVKG5PP) and receive your 1st AND 5th box FREE - we love free!!

The image was colored with Copics, popcorn is bright yellow - think extra butter (HA!) - the tag is from MFT's Tags Blueprints, some fun paper, super cute heart ribbon I've had f-o-r-e-v-e-r; the ribbon ends are tucked in behind the image and designer paper. I also colored an extra bow and popped it up with dimensionals.

I've also had these striped sacks forever, I popped in the popcorn bag, added some hearts in a variety of sizes and prints and then a little postage like LOVE sticker in the upper right hand corner. To keep it closed, I added a fun, striped mini clothespin.

The back of the tag is designer paper which allows you to write a sweet little message for your recipient!

Thanks for popping (HA, no pun intended, I always say that, but worked out well here) in, we can't wait to see your Valentine themed projects over at 2 Cute Ink!

Hugs,
