Crafty Creations - ANYTHING but a card

This week Crafty Creations is sponsored by:

Guylou';s Inimitability

AND the team is creating ANYTHING but a card - so come on, get those creative juices flowing and show us something that's not a card!

This was the perfect time for me to try something I've been wanting to try for ages...but haven't! A 2-pocket brown paper bag; I saw the idea over on Mish Mash's blog and finally decided to give it a whirl. Love when I'm pushed to try something new!

I made a S-U-P-E-R fast gift for our youngest son's teacher - honestly, this took me 20 minutes (yes, please write that down - a complete record for me)!

I repurposed tissue paper from Victoria's Secret :D, and filled the bag with Valentine York Peppermint Patties and a little American Crafts lined die cut card which was stamped with "Happy Valentine's Day". The pink polka dot hearts are left over from the heart border from the front of the sack! I sewed the polka dot sack on 3 sides, added some fun DP, inserted the tissue paper and treats and voila - a gift sack!  LOVE!!
From this angle, you can see both pockets! :D

Filled with treats and card

Treats and card outside the bag!
Thanks for popping in - and before you go, this will be my last post for awhile...I'll be back, just don't know when! I have surgery scheduled for February 13 - I'll know just how long I will be down and out once I wake up from surgery (hate not knowing). My options will be: 1-wear a sling "as needed", complete PT and pretty much go about life; 2-mandatory wearing of a sling for 6 weeks, complete PT and don't think about getting crafty for awhile. Unfortunately, the answer will not be revealed until I'm under the knife. BOO HISS - obviously I'm hoping for option #1...but we'll soon know!

So no worries, I'll see you again "soon"!

Hugs, ~M.

Killer Heels Blog Hop

Oh my - the Queen of Ladybug Crafts Ink has really outdone herself with these Killer Heels - aren't they just adorable? Eeeekkkk....so cute and feminine!!

And since this is a blog hop; let's get the details out of the way so we can then ooooo and aaaahhhhhh over the image, mmmm K?  :D

Hopefully you've stumbled upon my crazy little world from the totally magnificent Tams? If not, be sure to start at the beginning - Ladybug Crafts Ink Challenge Blog!

Leave some lovin' as you travel the blog hop because one person will win ALL 6 IMAGES, plus 5 individuals will win an image of their choice. AND be sure to collect all the letters to spell a special word related to our theme - once you have the word, e-mail it to us at lcichallengeblog@aol.com!

K, let's move on to the fun now as I think I've covered all the details! These strappy little heels and matching handbag are just divine! I really wanted to do grey shoes with red hearts...yep; that's just what I did! LOL

The layout is Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch #176; I used some super fun Carta Bella Devoted paper layered with MFT's Steel Grey and PTI's Pure Poppy, I added lots of stitching, some VersaMagic Pink Petunia sponging and finished it off with some Black Lush gems from Basic Grey. The focal point was layered onto a heart doily. I also edged the shoes and handbag with a black Spica marker - so sparkly, IRL!

Thanks for stopping by; your next stop on the hop is the lovely Laurie! Happy hopping; be sure to leave some lovin'!!
And before you go...my letter is Y!

i LOVE u!

I still have a few more Valentine's cards to make (oh,  how they make me happy); so I used MFT's Wednesday Sketch Challenge (MFTWSC108) for this one and talk about limited stamping!!! DP is by Doodlebug - gah - love it soooo much!; the 'text paper' behind the love has definitions for words like "cherish", "cute", "snuggle", "hug", etc., I thought it would be perfect behind the focal point.

The "LOVE" is another American Crafts die cut card stock shape, the "I" and "U" are from Verve's Die collection; I tried to keep them in the background but carried through the polka dot theme and edged them in PTI's Raspberry Fizz. The die cut shape is up on double dimensionals for a super 3D effect.

TFL; hope you are having a great week!

All You Need Is Love

An unusual color for a valentine card...but she sure is cute eh? This is Far Out from MFT's new line of Doodle Garden; I think she's just adorable! The inside says "you're so sweet"; perfect for a sister's valentine!

Layout is MFT's Wednesday Sketch Challenge (HERE - MFTWSC107); after I took pictures, I decided to go back and add glossy accents to all the small hearts as well as the large heart she is holding. The small hearts were colored using colored pencils and a few accents were added to the girl's pants, shirt and hair using colored pencils also.

Thanks for stopping by - hope you have a GREAT weekend!

Hugs, ~M.

Two for one...

You know, sometimes I just get behind and feel like I'm spinning my wheels - LOL! Such is the case this week!

Anywho, I'm here with my card for Cupcake Inspirations (see photo inspiration below) AND for Crafty Creations - Snowflakes! Two birds (HA - it's a penguin) with one stone...or however that saying should go.
I was inspired by a Christmas card I received a couple of years ago that was black and red-loved the simplicity of the colors; I embossed the red layer with snowflakes adding a beautiful white feather (a gift), some berries and holly leaves - FUN! I created the sentiment which says "just skating by..." on the front and "to say hi!" on the inside.

Card and Envelope
Thanks for stopping by; I'll be back soon with a few more creations! Have a great week!

Hugs,

Love Notes

Another Valentine's card (told you I love to make Valentine cards) using Jen's layout from last week (DS83) - yes, I cut my paper before I realized I would need to turn the tag...oh well, still love this little guy! The image is from Taylored Expressions S.W.A.K. Simple stamping, layering and a bit of glitter. :D

I love you to the moon...

and back!

Who doesn't love that sentiment?  :D

I purchased these super cool card stock shapes from American Crafts - LOVE THEM and decided to make this piece the focal point of my card using Jen's Deconstructed Sketch #84. Super cute layout, you can go CAS (as I did) or add as many layers as you want! The 2 hearts on the front and the pink heart on the inside are from the same card stock shapes pack. I added some scrumptious Pink Sorbet baker's twine from The Twinery; tied on the hearts and a little heart charm which says "LOVE".

I added more DP to the inside as well as a card stock heart and the sentiment from Verve in PTI's Hawaiian shores. I punched the MS heart border out of some left over MME paper.

TFL; have a great weekend!

Short post here - my stomach and I are at war today! :(

Join us this week at Cupcake Inspirations - another fabby cupcake image!

I don't own any stamps with bottles of champagne, wine or even wine glasses...and I don't even own any gold card stock - seriously!

Therefore, I went to the next celebration that came to mind - BIRTHDAYS...we have several coming up right away!

Hope you'll join the fun!

Winnie the Pooh

Let the love posts begin; I LOVE creating for Valentine's Day!! And I love this quote from Winnie the Pooh - one of my favorites!

"If you live to be 100 I hope I live to be 100 minus one day so I NEVER have to live without you" ~Winnie the Pooh

Layout is Mojo Monday 274 (great sketch, which I will be using again in the very near future)! Papers are from MME and a splash of Bo Bunny on the inside. Jotted Heart Die from Verve cut twice; once from DP, once from Smokey Shadow card stock; some paper piercing for fun. Tied on some white misc. ribbon which I heated with my heat gun to make the ends curl and shrink a bit - very pretty IRL and a bit of sewing to finish it all off.

Hope you have a great weekend; thanks for stopping by to visit!

Hugs,
