Birthdays!

Welcome friends! This week over at the TLT blog we're celebrating with a BIRTHDAY theme! I know I never have enough birthday cards in my stash, so this challenge is perfect - won't you join us?

I used Karen's fantastic Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge for the layout - LOVE! Of course, I love about any challenge that allows me to dig into my designer paper stash - love me some My Mind's Eye!!!

Image was colored with Copics; my sweet little doggy is all stretched out on a glittery pillow - just hard to see in the pictures but oh so cute IRL!  :D

The flower is made with 14 count Aida cloth - that idea came from my boss - the Queen! I spritzed the flower layers with some chocolate glimmer mist and tied on a PTI Berry Sorbet button with chocolate baker's twine.

The base layer of designer paper was embossed with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder and I used direct-to-paper ink of PTI Berry Sorbet around the edges.

Thanks for stopping by - hope you'll check out the challenge and then LINK IT UP!!

Hugs,

I Toadily Love You...

I'm slow but FINALLY finished my card for Cupcake Inspirations - I'm telling you - these toads are just adorable! Our inspiration cupcakes:

I used Jen's fantastic sketch found HERE with lots of green and red to match the little toads AND I used brads - I haven't used brads since 1999 (wow - throwback! - LOL).

Image is colored with Copics; inside contains digital sentiment, also from our sponsor (Robyn's Fetish Digital Images) and die from MFT Stamps. The base card is Kraft with another layer of Kraft embossed with Cuttlebug Dots and sponged with PTI Fresh Snow Ink (<3)! I added stitching to each of the color panels on the front.

And see those "RED" brads? They were originally yellow, I colored them red with my copics - thank goodness, because I own ZERO red brads! LOL

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great weekend!

Hugs,

Baby Thank You Cards...NOT!

Remember THIS card? I made this birthday card for an upcoming party in which the birthday girl loves baby blue. I knew I wanted to make her some personalized note cards that she could use as she saw fit. So...I venture out to find some pre-made baby blue note cards that I could alter.

So...I found the cards - they are labeled as "Sweet Baby Thank You Cards"...here's what they look like:

Easy enough to alter - made them all girly; carried through the baby blue theme and they come with the most adorable envelopes; so here's what we made:

Here's the stack of cards with the striped envelopes in the back; see how we totally covered the "Thank You" that was on the front? I think they turned out super cute - hope she likes them. AND since she's turning 13, we made 13 note cards!  :D

Here's an individual shot - the blue ink is Brilliance so it's all shimmery - <3!!

Thanks for stopping in; I'll be back soon with my Cupcake Inspiration card - first one in a LONG TIME!!

For Sale

I am a terrible hoarder of patterned paper; although I will admit, I'm getting better. BUT I have a slew of paper pads that I will never use so they're up for sale! Cost for all of these paper pads PLUS 2 sets (8 each) of Canvas Home Basics black with large white polka dot gift cards (size: 2 1/2 x 3 1/2) are available to a good home for $30 which includes shipping.

Remember, each of these pads typically retails for ~$6-$7!!

Some pads have been used, some have never been touched - there are lots from Basic Grey, some from Echo Park, one tiny package from Jenni Bowlin, some My Mind's Eye and the list goes on! There are 21 pads which does not include the Jenni Bowlin package OR the polka dot gift cards.

If you are interested in purchasing this huge array of paper, please contact me by e-mail at whimsicalexpressions at symbol yahoo dot com. (yeah, we spell it funny to prevent spam bots!!)

Have a great day; I'll be back very soon with a birthday creation!

Hugs,

PSA and Chatty Nikki turns 13

Guess what? I am REALLY back and I am soooooooooooo excited, I have not created in WEEKS!! I have finally beat whatever that forsaken sickness was I had - everything from sinus infection, bronchitis, pneumonia and the weeks of tears thinking I would never get well! I'm not sure I ever remember being THAT sick for THAT long!! :(

But let's move on - first off, I should tell you the best way to spend your money this week AND THIS WEEK ONLY...just start here:

There are some amazing new images & LOTS of long-time images - take a look as many are now available digitally!!

Next up is my card for this week's challenge: Challenge 58 - Shapes brought to you by the Stamping Genius Sally!

I'm not sure I followed the challenge as it was issued; but I sure had fun creating! Our youngest daughter has a birthday party coming up, so I used the CPS sketch HERE; and the birthday girls fave color is baby blue, so I tried to take advantage of that through and through! :D

Card plus birthday tag
Tag up close
Chatty Nikki is actually a pocket in which I inserted the birthday tag, thought glitter was a must for the numbers - don't you agree? Some ribbon was added to the tag, then I sewed the button on using jute twine. Some embossing, DTP ink for the large embossed dots, a bit of sewing and that's it.

Inside
Thanks for hanging in there while I had to take an extended absence, I'm just so happy to be feeling better and FINALLY back to creating!

Have a great week!

... ready to chat it up friends ...
