Happy Bear-thday!

Hi friends - welcome back for another great sketch over at Splitcoaststampers! The sketch is LIVE tomorrow morning or you can catch an early sneak peek down below. :D

I recently purchased these adorable MFT Beary Special Birthday bears and had to use the bear hidden in the present, I just think it's adorable! I stamped the image on Ranger water color paper and colored with copics. I then added some accents to the ribbon on top with Distress markers, some clear wink of stella to all of the ribbon and white enamel dots to the package. I colored the bear with Copics but also added dots (pointillism) for some fun 'bear' (fur) dimension.

I used a Memory Box stencil and whipped spackle for a fun background; the rest is fun and bright designer paper. I cut two banner flags using Verve Visual's Award Banner die and layered one over the other.

That's it friends - see you again soon!

 Hugs,

Seize the Cupcake

Hi friends - welcome back to another fun sketch from Splitcoaststampers - the best part this week? You can choose ANY sketch between 500-599 and have fun!! I went with 509 and a little creative license. ;)

The sketch challenge goes live tomorrow but you can catch a peek of the sketch I used below.

I had this cupcake image and the rectangle piece stamped and cut out TWO WEEKS AGO! #truth But I never got around to finishing the layout and just wasn't digging it but I was determined to use them both. This sketch made it so easy; combined some additional papers from the same paper pack (an older MME paper pack), some distressing with both ink and tool; some sparkle and glossy accents and voila, made for a super quick card! I stamped the fun sentiment inside and added some ombre pink colors to the word ENJOY.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great week!

Hugs,

HELLO

Hi friends - welcome back for another fun sketch at Splitcoaststampers; the sketch goes live tomorrow morning OR you can see a sneak peek below! I wanted to do a very simple card but my letters were very big. :D My card is still simple but it's a big one; too big for any envelopes I have on hand so it'll have to go inside a package or gift bag which is JUST FINE!! It's the thought that counts, right?

The HELLO letters are from the February 2016 SSS stamp kit. I sponged on some Tumbled Glass and Mermaid Lagoon for the background and used my t-ruler to add the letters; the 'miss your smile' comes from WPlus9's That is All set stamped in Hero Arts intense black. I added washi tape for the accent pieces shown in the sketch; I finished it off by sponging the base layer with a chevron stencil on just the outside border for interest, 'flinging' on some Hero Arts Unicorn White spray and shimmer mist .

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a GREAT week! Take care!

Hugs,

Dad's Day Sketch

Hi friends! Welcome back to another fabulous sketch over at Splitcoaststampers - it goes live tomorrow morning OR you can grab a sneak peek down below; I used it to create hubby's father's day card from all of us.

I started the entire card with the water color oval and laid down a Heidi Swapp stencil which says 'love'; I then misted Mermaid Lagoon Distress Spray Stain over the stencil, once completely dry I stamped the sentiment from Verve Visual's Father Figure in MFT's Steel Grey ink. The rest was just scraps and designer paper from both MFT and MME, finished it off with some distressing, pumice stone ink, dry embossing and a wooden heart which I colored with a grey copic.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you'll join the fun sketch fun at Splitcoaststampers this week. Have a great week!

All in one - masculine

A friend needed a birthday AND graduation combo card for a friend; I've made more masculine cards in the last month than I've made in the last year. HA!

I have these papers from echo park that I just love (believe it or not, the paper pad was in my 'donate' stash, but I recently rediscovered them and have used them 3 times) - yea for using that stash!!

I used this weeks sketch at Splitcoaststampers, you can see it bright and early tomorrow morning or take a peek down below. Instead of the small focal point, I used a bit larger focal point and added sentiments from 4 different stamp sets, all embossed in Hero Arts clear embossing powder, I sponged on Mermaid Lagoon and Hickory Smoke distress inks. The 1 and 8 are actually glitter thickers - I sanded the tops but there was STILL glitter on there....oh goodness. But no fear, I used the Mermaid Lagoon distress stain and streaked the bottom, then applied the Hickory Smoke ink pad directly to the numbers; then one more swipe with Mermaid Lagoon, splattered on some Hero Arts Unicorn White and finished them off with glossy accents. Love how they look!

Some distressing on a couple layers and that's it. Thanks for stopping by; hope you'll join the fun over at Splitcoaststampers this week!

Just Because

Hi friends - welcome back for another fun sketch over at Splitcoaststampers! You can see the sketch live tomorrow or catch a sneak peek down below.

Talk about getting all colorful and springy - OOOOO AAAAAHHHHH! :D

Instead of a circle, I used this adorable 'Enclosed Present Stamp and Die' set from Papertreyink; I absolutely love it...and I'm not sure why but I love creating ombre colors for the present die - I've done it time and time again (HERE and HERE are a couple of them), and this time was no exception!

I stamped a cute little 'just because' tag and used MFT's Damask Background stamped 2nd generation in Steel Grey for a fun accent. I die cut the bow a 2nd time, sponged in ombre colors and mounted with glue dots for a tiny bit of dimension.

Hope you join the fun, we love seeing your creations with the sketch challenge!! Have a great week.

Hugs,

YAY! It's Your Day

Hi friends - welcome back for another fun sketch over at Splitcoaststampers! You can see the sketch live tomorrow or catch a sneak peek down below.

Goodness, we have so many friends graduating high school this year; one in particular is my co-worker's son - some of my absolute FAVORITE people! He will be attending KState next year so I wanted to make a masculine graduation card but also include KState colors - I think I got them all!
Smiley from Millan.Net

Pretty straight forward card; I added some embossing to the Steel Grey layer and lightly swiped the embossed circles with MFT's sweet tooth ink. The purple circle was cut by combining two MFT wonky circles; the flag is from MFT's blueprints with the sentiment embossed in white. The YAY! was embossed on vellum and hand cut, the arrow was from my stash. Everything was layered on to a Grout Gray card base. I tried the 'stick it' tape to adhere the vellum and boy can you see it on the darker colors. #fail

I NEED a good adhesive for vellum, any recommendations?

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great week!

Gold Prayers

Hi friends - welcome back for another fun sketch at Splitcoaststampers - the sketch will be live tomorrow morning OR you can catch a peek down below.

Super CAS; I used the gorgeous flower from Hero Arts Monthly Kit April 2016; sorry, it's sold out now but you can make this same card with ANY floral image you have! Here's a sample of some of the cards debuted with the kit.

I took the easy route and did some water coloring, adding some color with distress markers directly to the paper; the softer 'highlight' areas were done with a white water color pencil. I used Hero Arts Prayer Stamp and Cut for the sentiment and die cut; the 'prayers' was cut multiple times from black card stock and one time from MFT gold card stock. I added a few clear Pretty Pink Posh sequins to finish it off.

I added some glue in various places on the edges of the water color paper and once dry adhered Ranger gold foil; I also added some gold washi tape on the inside.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great week!

Birthday Prezzies for you!

Hi friends - welcome back for another fun sketch over at Splitcoaststampers!  You can see the sketch bright and early tomorrow morning or catch a sneak peek down below!

I already had this image colored but it fit better into a square than a circle, IMHO; the rest is pretty much as the sketch dictates. Remember - the sketch is just a jumping off point so be sure to join the fun!

Pretty straightforward card; nothing fancy - coloring with pencils, die cutting and this fun little arrow I have had in my stash hoard for a L-O-N-G time but hey...finally used one! ;)

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great week. Take care!
