Mix It Up - Anything Goes (+ open techique optional)

Hi friends! I hope you are doing well - can you believe November is here? Wow - that's breathtaking! I have two posts today, hope you'll check them both out.

This month for the Mix It Up Challenge Blog, it's anything goes with the option of any technique you want. Easy peasy - hope everyone joins us!

I recently attended a little craft getaway and made these tags with Snowy, my all-time favorite snowman, I use this stamp every single year - almost always on tags. 😁 I stamped a bunch, colored them with Copics, layered onto a white tag; I pulled papers from THIS and THIS paper pad. Little scraps here and there; then I tied on some more little tags and various quotes from the Doodlebug pad, finished them off with red and white twine as well as white thread.

On the far right, you can see I made two more smaller tags with the MFT Festive Friends.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you will take some time and join us at the Mix It Up Challenge Blog.

Love to Scrap Challenge Blog - Old Time

Hi friends; hope you are doing well! This month at Love to Scrap we are focusing on 'Old Time'; I'll be the first to admit, I'm not the best with old/vintage type projects - but I tried.  😉

I made a Christmas card using Aqua Mist and lots of antique linen & old paper distress ink to give it a more vintage vibe. I also stamped an adorable Santa on the December 25 in second generation mocha ink. I distressed all the edges, tied on some aqua mist seam binding and called it good!

I hope you will join us with your creation this month!

WHAT'S IT TAKE:

Stamps: Stampington and Co December 25, Inkadinkado Santa
Inks: TE Mocha, Old Paper and Vintage Photo Distress Ink

For the Kids - LTSCB #136

Hi friends - how about these incredibly crazy times we live in!?! First, we had our daughter show symptoms of Covid (thankfully her results were negative); then we had a co-worker test positive late July (mad scramble to disinfect the office, notify  exposed team members, etc.); C-R-A-Z-Y!! 😟 I hope you and your loved ones are safe and healthy!!

This month at Love to Scrap we are creating For the Kids! I don't have littles any longer, BUT I think this card would be so sweet for a little to send to someone they love!! I love this girl from Penny Black, she makes me giggle! I colored the image with Copics then used scraps to paper piece her dress and sash. The sentiment is from a Verve Visual set (no longer available).

Thanks for popping in; hope you will join the fun and create something to share with us - we always love seeing your creations!!

Hugs,

Dalgona Coffee?

Hi friends - welcome back to Colour Crazy Challenge sponsored by Scrappers Delight and boy, did I pick a good one!! Have any of you seen the Dalgona coffee craze (I included a YouTube link for you); now they are making all sorts of whipped drinks.

I will say my daughter and I tried it and WERE NOT a fan; but maybe we need to change the ratio of products, we are not instant coffee drinkers, but I have a friend that LOVES all things coffee; hence today's creation!

I think this image from Scrappers Delight is so cute and I 'think' it might be designed as a boy BUT if you know me, you know I now have short spiky hair after having v-e-r-y long hair for years and years (about 20+ years). And during COVID, I allowed my daughter to add some pink to my hair - I added pink in the image but it's so light, it's rather washed out. Great reminder that contrast is a good thing! ;)

The little bag is filled with Folger single-serve instant coffee packets and I included the recipe for Dalgona Coffee on the back of the tag.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you will join us at Colour Crazy Challenge with anything goes as long as it includes coloring!

Take care, stay healthy and safe!

Snowy

Penny Black's Snowy has been my favorite snowman for years...and then they released a die and I'm still in love!

I enjoyed using distress oxide inks to blend a background and simply cut some snowbanks for little Snowy. The images were colored with Copics and colored pencils on watercolor paper. I stamped snowflakes in the background with Versamark then embossed greetings from Right at Home (Peace Love Joy).

I also splattered on some white paint and used a white gel pen to add decorations to the scarves, finished it off with some PPP Marshmallow Confetti Mix.

Such fun, colorful holiday cards!

Thanks for stopping by; have a GREAT week!

Mix It Up with Watercolor

Greetings friends! We're back for another fun month - Anything Goes or Watercoloring! We sure hope you will join us at Mix It Up; we truly love seeing your creations!

I LOVE this XL Tiger Lily image from Power Poppy; it's prefect for watercoloring and although I don't have near the depth and variation I would like, it was still fun! I stamped the image off the page and embossed with white embossing powder; I also added a few leaves. The image was colored with Zig Real Brush markers. The sentiment (from Penny Black) was stamped in black VersaFine and embossed with clear embossing powder. Pretty darn clean and simple!

Truly, hope you take the time to join us this month!

See you again soon!

Mix It Up Challenge - Inlaid Die Cutting

Hi friends - it's that time again; another super fun challenge from Mix It Up - please join us; you can do the 'twist' or 'anything goes'!

I love this rose overlay die from MFT (looks like they no longer carry it, BUT they do have scribble roses and it would work great too)!

I already had the hot pink outline of the rose so I die cut another rose out of orange polka dot paper and inlaid those pieces into the rose. I then used MFT's layered leaves, die cut from scraps of designer paper and inlaid those.

The background is cut with Penny Black's Antique Frame from Tim Holtz watercolor paper. Using a rainbow of distress oxide inks, I swiped them direct to paper; spritzed with water and soaked up the spots - it left a cool oxidation which ties in to the designer paper I used as pieces of it have a 'worn' look to it, although hard to see.

I added some fun foam to the focus point and mounted on some yellow card stock and white card base.

Thanks for stopping by; we really hope you will join us over at Mix It Up!

Hugs,

Happy Birthday - lots of dimension

Oh friends...I had so much fun making these cards then a total disaster occurred! :(

It probably took me 2 weeks to make these cards; I have a full-time job and with workouts after work, I have very limited time but goodness, they were lots of fun! I am determined to use up my pattern paper (hoard much - HA), so these was the very last of this particular paper pad used to make 3 cards. The flowers were made MONTHS ago - as in 2018 before my medical condition occurred.

Anywho, I cut the frames and used a stencil on the largest frame to sponge on color, darker in one corner and lighter as I moved to the other corner. The outside frame was mounted with dimensional foam. On the inside piece, I used a stencil and modeling paste; once dry, I also sponged on color and adhered it flat to the card. I die cut the 'birthday' 4 times per card and adhered together; the 'happy' was cut from silver sparkle paper. Pulled out some seam binding I've also had for quite some time and tied it on where the two papers meet. Layered on the flowers, added Nuvo drops, rounded some corners and that's it.

And then it went all wrong...
I brought the cards to work to photograph and give away...put them in my sack, I tend to throw everything that needs to go to work in one bag...including my lunch... Any guesses? Yes, my lunch leaked; one card was 100% damaged, the other two I was able to salvage with minimal damage/discoloration, but goodness, I was kinda heartbroken! So much work! Oh well; at least I was able to save two of them; there's joy in that!

Hope you have a great weekend ahead; thanks for popping in!!

Hugs,

Just For You

I LOVE creating for Valentine's Day; but if you saw THIS post, that's where all my time was spent...but I did purchase the Simon Says Stamp February kit (sold out); but it made it so quick and easy to put this card together. I added some glossy accents and sprinkles of glitter for a little fun! Literally ZERO stamping (even the 'love' inside is part of the paper), how's that for quick?

Thanks for stopping by; hope you are having a GREAT week!

Blessed

I have a dear friend whose daughter has had an extremely rough time lately with a significant medical issue; way too much hospital time, came home with tubes still in her, etc. BUT I am thrilled to report she is doing better and just recently had the last tube removed.

She has had such an incredibly positive attitude throughout the entire ordeal so I wanted to make her a 'just because' card with her fave colors (purple and teal). I made this AGES ago but wanted to make sure it had been received before I posted it all over social media. LOL

I included a gift card which can be used for food...or ice cream...yes, I think ice cream might be the best answer! I used the Sunrise Radiating stencil and swiped on some purple ink for a tone-on-tone look, then added Versamark ink, not caring if I covered every little inch, I love the imperfections and sprinkled on clear embossing powder. The heart was made with a recent tutorial from Jennifer McGuire, you can see her video HERE. The blessed is from Right at Home's Script Greetings dies. I layered several white die cuts over a polka dot vellum die cut and mounted on the heart. The polka dot cloud was cut from an Illustrated Faith acetate paper pad.

I added some fun paper and washi tape to the inside and the sentiment (from Penny Black):
FAITH does not make things easy
It makes them POSSIBLE

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great week!

Faith, Hope and Love

Oh goodness, I continue to struggle with this nasty cough/congestion and I believe half the people in the world have the same thing. :( Lack of energy and just overall feeling rotten has really given me a run for my money!

Truth? I've taken naps during lunch time several times over the past few weeks. Brutal!

I started a bunch of cards in early January and I'm not sure I'll complete them in the SAME MONTH! But this one I finally did get around to finishing using Verve Visual's January sketch inspiration (see photo below), or see the sketch HERE.

I dabbed on some distress oxide inks directly to a rectangle stamp block, spritzed with water and pressed to the watercolor paper - such an easy way to get an ombre background. I used one of the newer mix and mat dies from PTI and then cut the entire piece out with a stitched rectangle die.

I stamped the flower from Verve Visual (Beautiful Things) and colored with Zig Clean Color Brushes and Copics, die cut some leaves from both Verve (Beautiful Flowers) and Hero Arts (You're So Lovely), added some seam binding and lots of designer paper from Queen and Co. and called it good!

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great week!

Christmas Tag IV

I am back with the fourth Christmas tag in the group photo I posted HERE; and it's the ODD ONE OUT from all the others. :D

It's Snowy; I absolutely ADORE this image from Penny Black!

I stamped Snowy in SSS Intense Black onto fog card stock and colored directly on the card stock with Copics, then added LOTS of snow! Sooo simple; tied on some jingle bells and ribbon to finish it off. Stay tuned, next tag coming up soon!

Christmas Tags

Over the past couple of weeks, I spent quite a bit of time making some Christmas tags; each is different...and then there is one way out in left field - HA - but the image is one of my all-time fave winter images!

I will show a tag per day over the next couple of weeks, but for now here's the whole group of them! The majority of the tags use THIS set and dies from Simon Says Stamp; each is different, one uses white texture paste, one uses translucent paste, one uses a hodge podge of designer paper, two use vellum and then there is that crazy one! Very CAS and adorable, I think.

Hope you enjoy the parade of tags coming your way!

Penny Black Joy

Once again, I was inspired by the fun color combo at Color Throwdown (photo below) and hadn't used this stamp although I purchased it last year. #truth I embossed the image on Tim Holtz watercolor paper and used a combo of Tombow markers to water color and also direct to paper. I used a SSS stencil to add a bit more interest, kept it super simple and mounted on a Fog card base. I added some washi to the inside and that's it!

Thanks for stopping by; hope your week is full of JOY!
