Hero Arts Thanks Stamp and Cut

Hi friends! It's May 1st - can you BELIEVE IT? Gosh, time is flying by! Next week our 2nd one will begin the first of three graduations - yes, really. She's graduating high school, community college and the health academy at the community college where she earned an Associates Degree - GREAT start to her next college. ;)

Anywho, we are back at a2z Scrapbooking, this time focusing on sentiments! I love all the Hero Arts stamp and cut sets - this time I used the thanks one after stamping and embossing the Artistic Dahlia in the corner and sponging on some distress inks (tumbled glass, peacock feathers, and mermaid lagoon). Once I added the sentiment in Hero Arts intense black I added 3 rows of arrows from a really old Verve set (Borderline). I finished it off with lots of black and white enamel accents.

Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon! Don't forget to use the discount code 'MicheleG15', it will save you 15% at the Etsy shop. ;)

You

Happy birthday to YOU! If it's your birthday anyway. ;)

Remember THIS card with basically the same background; I mentioned I made several different backgrounds using Oxide Inks and this was another one I had ready to put to use. I pulled out some new to me designer paper from Reverse Confetti and cut this big ole YOU out of fun foam and one layer of the designer paper, adhered together and coated with glossy accents. I added the 'happy birthday to' with Hero Arts intense black ink stamped a couple times since the paper was water color paper.

Look at that shimmery pink envie from SSS! *SWOON*

The rest, I kept pretty simple, added a strip of glitter black paper and more of the designer paper to finish it off, a totally CAS (clean and simple) card!

Thanks for stopping by, I love when you visit!

Verve Beautiful Things with Mega 3D Dimension

The kind of dimension that doesn't fit in an envelope. :D

I had so much fun creating this card! Those flowers are made from a paperback book, I typically use a brad to secure the flower but this time, to allow for more dimension, I only added glue to the center of each layer.

I cut 6 layers of the flower using Verve's Beautiful Things die, stamped the top layer with Hero Arts Intense Black and colored with Distress Crayons - actually I just laid down some color and smeared it with my finger - yep, sure 'nuff! I added glossy accents to the center of each flower and sprinkled on some chunky glitter.

The background was stamped with Verve's Text Objects and embossed with Hero Arts white embossing powder; I smooshed (technical term - HA) on color with Distress Inks, added the black frame, some polka dot vellum leaves and called it good!

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great day!

Now it's time for Pretty in Purple

I mentioned earlier this week I had made several backgrounds using Oxide inks and various distress inks and here's another one, you can see the first one HERE. I sponged on some Wilted Violet, then added more ink through this cool Hero Arts stencil (Crossing Waves); then I moved the stencil just slightly and added Steel Grey ink from MFT Stamps. Once dry, I spritzed with water, glimmer mist, added some splatters of Hero Arts Unicorn mist and black enamel accents (watered down).

Much like the Pretty in Pink card, I colored this gorgeous Stampendous Fresh Bloom with purple copics adding some white dots for accents. I again die cut and stamped the leaves with SSS Floral Shapes, embossed another sentiment from MFT's Doodle Bloom card set along with the word frame die.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you are having a great HUMP day!

JUGS Theme - HEARTS!

I'm telling you; I LOVE creating for the month of February - it's such a special month for our family. Our first child was born, Valentine's Day and my wedding anniversary all occur this month. Hubby and I will be celebrating 25 years this month. :D Not to mention, I LOVE hearts - hearts and polka dots make me pretty darn happy!

So I'm back this week for Just Us Girls (JUGS) celebrating THEME week = HEARTS. Ahhh...I'm in love! I created two cards to fit the challenge.

The first card uses a free digi from Verve Visual (not sure if it's still available) but it was perfect to print on kraft card stock and begin building my card. The cool burlap heart was found at Hobby Lobby in their Valentine section; I roughed up the edges a bit, then used Verve Visual's Love Notes die to cut a cute little heart from this adorable designer paper. The rest is pretty self-explanatory; just had fun creating!! I included a sneak peek of the inside, I am forever using washi tape on the inside of cards and my envelopes; just love the touch it adds, and available in so many colors. I did 'fling on' lots of tattered angels and hero arts mists in the background; mounted the main panel with fun foam and finished it all off with some enamel dots.

inside - washi tape
My next card is back to using my favorite technique - SMOOSHING - I know, there goes that technical term again. HA!

I created two water color panels with various distress inks; I took the brighter of the two panels and once dry,  die cut these SSS stacked hearts die and sprayed with shimmer mist - I know, next to impossible to see in the photos, but I think you 'might' be able to see it on my Instagram photo??!! I sponged on more distress inks in the background before adhering the hearts - I REALLY wish I would have added fun foam for some dimension. :( I die cut the LOVE from Hero Arts multiple times from white card stock and once from black card stock; layered them together and coated with glossy accents, I then stamped the YOU just below (also from the same stamp set). I finished the card off with some black/white striped paper and a strip of PTI Raspberry Fizz coated in clear Wink of Stella.

inside - MORE washi tape :D

Thanks for stopping by; hope you'll join our HEARTS theme this week!!

Hero Arts Bold Floral...they said in red!

Hi friends - IT'S FEBRUARY; the first month of 2017 is GONE - wow!

This month at a2z Scrapbooking we have another super easy challenge - although you are certainly going to question what I was thinking. :D HA - not the first time!

I was inspired by recent videos by Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner. I had actually made myself some notes which said "red, kraft card stock, ombre focal word, stencil" and what do you know, both their videos hit everything on that list and resulted in my final card. And I PROMISE I really did use red...but when you use red on Kraft card stock it doesn't turn out too red. LOL I love it though; it's almost more of a coral/rust color and I'll definitely save it for autumn, I think it will be perfect! Super easy to do, the focal point was layered onto a Dark Chocolate top folding card.

Once the focal panel was done I added 3 spritz of Moonlight Tattered Angels mist; love the sparkle and flecks of white! I embossed the small sentiment in Hero Arts white on Dark Chocolate card stock to tie it all together. After I took photos, I decided to add glossy accents to the 'thanks', but seriously, WHO has time to wait for that to dry? HA! Very CAS.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great week and HAPPY FEBRUARY!!
