LTSCB - Anything Goes

Only two more Love to Scrap challenges this year and this is one that everyone loves, ANYTHING GOES! We hope you will join us!

This is another card front that I worked on during a crafty retreat, this brings together all 3 flowers from the Sketchbook Flowers set. Again, I tried to mimic water coloring by using Copics. The background is a brick stencil, I sponged on TE Poppyseed ink in various spots. I didn't have any thin twine, this one is kind of bulky, but I made it work! Once home, I layered onto a card base.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you are doing well! And don't forget to join us at Love to Scrap!

TE Floral Sketch + ctd644

Hi friends - hope this note finds you doing well! I recently pulled out Taylored Expressions Sketchbook Florals; I wanted the card to look watercolored...without watercoloring. 😁😁 I used Copics to color the florals and tried not to be exact; even  using dots for the shading. The awesome background is from The Greetery, Shiplap Builder Die. I cut the planks from regular white card stock - look at that awesome pattern. Once cut, I ink blended some Taylored Expressions Toffee onto the edges. The sentiment comes from Taylored Expressions Field Notes, shiplap pieces were adhered to PTI's kraft card stock.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you are doing well!

MIUCB #43 - Make Your Own Background

Hi friends - hope this post finds you safe and healthy!!

This month at Mix It Up, we are creating our own backgrounds, and I am here with a photo overload!

I was inspired by Pinefeather and her YouTube video, HERE. I created the backgrounds using TE's Just Vine Background then stamped and die cut a ton of these images (Beautiful Blossoms), colored with copics and adhered to the backgrounds. The main panel was cut with THIS die. Sentiments are THESE from MFT.

Thanks for stopping by; have a great day!

It's the challenge EVERYONE likes to participate in - ANYTHING GOES over at Love to Scrap; hope you will join us too!

This card was inspired by Kelly; I love her creations - I always find inspiration from her.

I stamped the background with TE Sugar Cube; the images were die cut from light pink card stock, then stamped and colored. I added chunky glitter to the center of the flower and then randomly on the leaves. The sentiment is from SSS, Thinking of You.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you will join us!

Have a great day!

Hello Beautiful

Remember THIS card? Here is the other one in different colors!

I blended on a variety of distress inks, I also blended another piece in which I die cut the flower and leaves, then stamped; hence the color goes all the way to the edges. I added some darker shading with a copic and spritzed with sheer shimmer; hard to see in the photos, but super pretty IRL!

I splattered on the same inks then layered this Bold Border Polka Dots by Papertreyink; I love the bold statement it makes!

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great day!

Hello Beautiful - Pink and Yellow

Another card I made months ago but haven't had the time to post, story of my life! Pandemic or not, life is still insanely busy!!

I hope you and your loved ones are doing well, safe and healthy!!

I made two of these cards in different color combos, both made the same way. I'll post the other one soon.

I blended on a variety of distress inks, mainly pink and yellow, I also blended another piece in which I die cut the flower and then stamped; hence the color goes all the way to the edges; same for the leaves. I added some darker shading with a copic and spritzed with sheer shimmer; hard to see in the photos, but super pretty IRL! I believe the sentiment is from a Gina K set; but their site is down right now, so I can't confirm. #whoops

I splattered on the same inks then layered this Bold Border Polka Dots by Papertreyink; I love what a bold statement it makes!

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a magnificant weekend!

MIUCB - Distressing + Anything Goes

Hi friends - welcome back to another challenge with the Mix It Up team! This month we focused on distressing, or as always, anything goes!

I created this panel a month or so ago and have struggled to cut it up - 😆! I used this video by Debby Hughes, it was so very helpful. You will see another water color panel I did where I failed to take time to build up the color...lesson learned.

I kept this card SUPER simple; I used the 'hi' die from The Stamp Market; the 'friend' is from a discontinued Verve Visual stamp set, but I loved the elegance of the font. I distressed the edges of the water color panel as well as the embossed black flag; I thought about sponging the edges but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. 😁

Thanks for stopping by; I hope you will join us at Mix It Up this month, we enjoy seeing your creations!

Take care, stay safe!

Flowers...or polka dots?

Hey friends - welome to a new fresh and shiny week! How ya doing?

Oh you know, sometimes you color something and like nothing about it...although I did use the colorless blending technique taught by Yana Smakula, which I adore...but that's about it. 😁 I did stamp the image directly on to TE Cupcake card stock, so that added a unique color to the flowers.

Once I colored the images, I covered it with a stencil, blended on lots of polka dots and then I liked it a bit better. 😉 I splattered on some white and black paint, added a strip of pink striped paper and a tiny hint of black glitter paper to finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by today; here's hoping you have a great week ahead!!

Take care, stay safe!

Rainbow Mom

I created a couple variations of this card - I absolutely love it! Do you?

I used Karin markers to create the watercolor background. First, I created the green at the bottom, spritzed with water and let it run a bit; then I created the rainbow at the top, spritzed with water and allowed the colors to run much further down into the green area. I stamped the TE Beautiful Blossom flowers with Gina K Obsidian ink. I added some Copic coloring to each flower then added a heavy coat of  Nuvo Shimmer (which actually made the flowers a bit white, which looks rather cool I thought).

Once the inks, watercolor and shimmer were dry, I die cut the word MOM from PTI Smokey Shadow multiple times and one time from the main panel and layered them together. I then stamped and embossed the Happy Mother's Day sentiment in VersaFine ink and clear embossing powder. I layered the panel onto PTI true black and added a scalloped white panel to the inside.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you are having a great week!

It's a Bunny Parade

These Hop To It products from Taylored Expressions along with the Mini Strips - Easter stamps make it so quick and easy to create Easter or any fun type card...don't box yourself in to Easter only, think outside the box. However, I did make a handful of Easter cards to share with friends and this was a set of 3 - pink, blue, and purple.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you are safe and healthy!! Take care.

MIUCB #36 - Fancy Fold

Hi friends - welcome back; so glad you are here!!

This month at Mix It Up, it's Anything Goes as always, BUT if you want to join in with the Fancy Fold challenge, we'd love to see your creations!

Let's be honest; we're friends, right? I am not good at fancy folds when it comes to cards; I'm not an engineer like Jennifer McGuire - LOL; and truth? I suck at math! So, I set about doing something a bit different for my fancy fold!

I colored up this gorgeous image from Gina K and Hero Arts, Friendship Blooms with some watercolors and finished with colored pencils. I fussy cut the image and added lots of splatters in white and black. I then cut the flowers diaganolly, folded over the ends of the image and hid the message below the flowers. I saw someone else do something similar recently and was definitely inspired! BUT...I needed a way for it to stay closed, so I added a heat embossed vellum belly band, sentiment from Altenew Simply the Best.

New manicure needed; dry cuticles from so much washing! ;)

I sponged on colors to both white pieces (outside / inside) to tie it all together. It's truly not a fancy fold, but I still thought it was unique and fun!

Thanks for stopping by; hope you join us for Mix It Up where it's Anything Goes or Fancy Fold!

Colour Crazy Challenge - Polkadoodles

I am BEYOND thrilled to be joining the Colour Crazy Challenge; this is a gorup of super fun (and talented) individuals with LOTS of inspiration! Hope you will check out our challenges!

Our weekly challenge is always "Anything Goes" as long as you include some coloring on your project; hope you'll play along!

This week we are featuring digital images from Polkadoodles; I used the Winnie Celebrations Big Bunch; isn't this little girl the sweetest? I colored the image with Copics and colored pencils and kept the card very Clean and Simple (CAS). I die cut the image and mounted with fun foam, added some Pretty Pink Posh marshmallow confetti mix sequins and this beautiful sentiment from the Gina K / Hero Arts Friendship Blooms stamp set. If you look closely, you can see a sponged a design around the outer edge using TE Strawberry Milkshake ink and Ripples stencil.

Thanks for popping in; hope you'll check out all the other creations at the Colour Crazy Challenge, then join the fun! See you again soon!!

MIUCB #35 - Anything Goes + Smooshing

Hi friends - welcome back for the monthly Mix It Up Challenge where this month focuses on Anything Goes + Smooshing. Hands down, smooshing is my favorite technique - is it really a technique? Doesn't matter, I love, love, love it!

I actually have two cards to share with you; both very similar, ink smooshing, embossing and these gorgeous Sketchbook Roses from The Greetery.

I used Worn Lipstick and Barn Door for my smooshed colors; the focal sentiments are all from Taylored Expressions, cut with their Mini Strips Die. On the top card, I added Taylored Expressions Bits and Pieces Full of Heart sequins, the bottom card as Pretty Pink Posh Marshmallow Confetti Mix.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great day!
