Owl-ways and Forever - Whimsy and Stars Studio

Hi friends - HAPPY THURSDAY! How ya doing?

It's my last post for Whimsy and Stars Studio, I have sooo enjoyed working with Mabelle and her AMAZING images! For this post, we could use our FAVORITE image, but really? I love so many of her images, so instead, I went with a card our children will give my hubby for Father's Day.

But first, I thought I'd show you just a "few" of my favorites from Whimsy and Stars Studio:
 Whimsy and Stars Studio

Seriously, aren't these some of the most adorable images? And since they are digital, you can have SO MUCH FUN!

OK, so back to my creation; I love the Wintery Owls; they are so cute but my card was so difficult - LOL; just one of those days! :D The image was colored with Copics then for the eyes, I applied a layer of glossy accents, then a layer of black dimensional enamel, then a dot of white dimensional enamel. Then I proceeded to DROP A BOTTLE which landed on the large owl's eyes - yeah, seriously. I redid them. Then I proceeded to put my FINGER in the right eye of the large owl. At this point I could only laugh...and walk away for awhile!
From Millan.Net

The base card is kraft, layered with another kraft panel which was stamped with random stars and clear embossed. I added some Broken China and Faded Jeans distress ink over the stars, then ahered my main panel of PTI Dark Chocolate and more kraft. I cut out the owls and added those with dimensional adhesive. The tree branch is a die form Taylored Expressions which I ran through the crimper. The words "owl-ways" and "forever" were stamped with individual letters, the ampersand came from a PTI set which actually says Mr. & Mrs. - just added tape over the words, inked it up, removed the tape and stamped just the ampersand sign.

And that's it! Thanks for stopping by; I hope you've enjoyed the Spring DT's last blog post - be sure to stop by the Whimsy blog and see all the amazing creations!!

Have a great weekend!

Tic Tac Toe at Crafts 4 Eternity

Hi friends - how's the week treating you? This week over at Crafts 4 Eternity, we are playing Tic Tac Toe - won't you join us?
And Digistamps 4 Joy is offering a $10 voucher to one lucky winner!

I went diagonal using ribbon, yellow and buttons and used an image from Whimsy and Stars Studio, Spring Garden Chick. I used this image once before HERE and a friend loved the card so much, she wanted one too. As we all know, I really dislike making the same card twice...plus I didn't have the same papers, so I improvised and came pretty close to the same! :D

inside of card

Lots of clear Wink of Stella for the butterflies and center of the flowers and some glossy accents for those flowers too! Added a little "hello" flag to the top of the image.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you will join our fun game of Tic Tac Toe.

REJOICE!

Look at this super cute teddy...reminding us to REJOICE - is he not the cutest bear? I love him!!! And you could add a bow and make it a girl in a snap!!

REJOICE is a new release at Whimsy and Stars Studio - pop over and take a look at all the amazing creations - HERE. Mabelle - owner of Whimsy and Stars Studio has amazing images, you can see all her images HERE.

AND just for checking out our creations and leaving a comment at Whimsy and Stars Studio, two random winners will win one digi design of their choice. Winners will be announced Monday, May 26 on the blog AND on Facebook.

I needed a graduation card and decided this little teddy was perfect for celebrating such a great accomplishment. And I went bold and bright with the colors. One of our universities is black and yellow so I accented those colors but added some fun ones too! The arrow is from Heidi Swapp and is naturally white, I colored it with a yellow Copic and added glossy accents. LOVE! A few colorful enamel accents finishes it off.

I also used Jennifer McGuire's trick of wrapping the word banner around the card and then cutting two fishtails and adhering - she uses this trick often (you can see it in THIS video, about the 10:50 mark).

Hope you have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Lucy's Cupcake

Hi friends!

I'm back with a sweet little image from Whimsy and Stars Studio - Lucy's Cupcake...she's cute huh? And I don't even LIKE mice...but Lucy's pretty darn cute!

I made a one pocket gift sack out of a kraft sack. I folded up the bottom 3/4's, adhered some paper and stitched around the sides. I then used MFT's Staggered Heart border across the top of the designer paper. I cut the border once, then cut the individual hearts twice and pieced it all together. It's cute, but hard to see under the main image.
From Millan.Net

I colored cute little Lucy with Copics using puffy stuff on her party hat and glossy accents on the candle flame. The image was cut from PTI's notebook paper die; then some more designer paper was cut from the same die and tilted. The ribbon I have had F-O-R-E-V-E-R and haven't used in about that long; love how the colors worked perfectly though! I then added two tags from PTI's Tiny Tags die and matching stamp set. The heart I colored with a Copic marker then stamped with PTI's Polka Dot Basics two different times to have good coverage of polka dots, tied on a button with some twine and that's it. Quick, simple and cute!

Meet Zoey

It's release day over at Whimsy and Stars Studio and we would like you to meet Zoey - isn't she adorable? Eeekkk...so cute!

You can purchase Zoey at Mabelle's Etsy Shop AND to make it even better, sweet Mabelle is giving TWO random winners a selection of one digi image; just visit here at Whimsy and Stars and leave a comment. And to see Mabelle's other amazing images with instant digi downloads, visit her Etsy shop HERE!

I was very inspired by Laurie's two-pocket card HERE that I decided to make one too. And see her flowers with the quirky lines - yeah, I decided to make my own and punch them out of designer paper. There is one at the bottom of the card and 3 on the envelope!

Here is a close up picture of one of the hand drawn flower!

See those hand-drawn flower on the envie - lower left-hand corner :D

There is room on the entire backside of the card and then two tags where you can include messages also - lots of fun scraps of MME paper were used. A scalloped die and little what-nots - wooden heart, an enamel heart, twine, some ribbons - just bits and pieces here and there. The top of the card says "If friends were flowers, I'd pick you."; the bottom includes 4 stickers which say "The Best of Friends."

Thanks for stopping by; I love when you visit!! See you again soon!

Happy Spring!

Hi friends!! Kaitlyn and I are off to Kansas City this weekend for her final volleyball tournament of the season - hoping for a great weekend! We are staying at Great Wolf Lodge - neither Kaitlyn or I have visited there before; but we should have some down time which means play time!!

Enough of that personal mumbo jumbo (:D); let's get moving on to SPRINGTIME! Here's a card featuring Whimsy and Stars Studios Springtime Bouquet - isn't it gorgeous? That's the great thing about digital images, you can resize them as big...or as little...as you want! I made this a jumbo bouquet celebrating spring! I'm all about some warmer weather!

I printed the Springtime Bouquet on Copic XPress It paper and colored with Copics, I added some white dimensional enamel to the center of the red flowers and some polka dots with a white gel pen. Accented the entire image with B00 and B01 and die cut with MFT's stitched circle die. I added a fabulous butterfly that was actually white with sparkly stripes; I used pink and red to color it up and mount with dimensionals. I added a few flags, a butterfly embossed background and that's it.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great weekend!!

Crafts for Eternity - Anything But a Card

Hi friends - welcome back!! This week at Crafts 4 Eternity we are showing you Anything But a Card and boy, did I have fun with this one. Of course, what looks so simple and easy, took quite a bit of time as there are so many small details! And you know, I couldn't make just ONE, I had to make FOUR! LOL

This weeks prize is kindly donated by Crafty Sentiments Designs. One randomly selected winner will receive 3 Digital images from their fabulous collection.

So I made these tags - I just love this die from Memory Box; it's perfect whether you use the matching stamp or not. I printed the Cup of Kindness image from Whimsy and Stars Studio on Copic XPress It paper, then cut with the MB Distress Tag. I colored the Cup of Kindness image with Copics, but also printed just the cups repeatedly on some MME designer paper, then fussy cut each cup. I layered on the paper pieces to the cups, colored the center of each flower with clear Wink of Stella, then added a dot of glossy accents. The sentiments are all from PTI Round and Round and were stamped and embossed on vellum. I just folded the sides of the vellum to create the faux double-edged tag and snipped the ends.

Before paper piecing the cups and vellum, I sponged the edges of the tags with Broken China distress ink. For two of the tags, I sandwiched in a spritzed doily. The back side of each tag is another piece of designer paper, so you can easily add a message; I then finished the tags off with 3 different colors of twine, perfect for tying on to a gift sack or giving just as they are!

Thanks for stopping by for a Cup of Kindness; hope you like the tags! Have a great week and be sure to join us at Crafts 4 Eternity!!
