Bloomin' Fabulous - Ladybug Crafts Ink

Hi friends! Welcome back to a super fun and cute release from Ladybug Crafts Ink! These new images are called Bloomin' Fabulous and they certainly are! They are available for purchase HERE for £1.75 each; be sure to check out all the images at our challenge blog AND leave a comment telling us which image you like the most! Once person will win all 12 images, and 5 people will win 2 images of their choice.

I'm using Bowl 'o Blooms, isn't it adorable? Those flowers are just divine! I loved coloring this image up to match some fun designer paper, an older pad from MME. I created a background of varying strips of paper and glued them all to a piece of card stock then cut them out using a stitched rectangle from My Favorite Things. I distressed the edges with ink and a distressing tool for a bit of a vintage look.

I added half a doily, another stitched circle, a white gel pen for some of the flowers and each blue flower has 2 coats of clear Wink of Stella - can't see in the images, but they do sparkle IRL!

Thanks so much for popping in; hope you have a great week! And don't forget to check out all the amazing cards at Ladybug Crafts Ink Challenge Blog!

Hugs,

Sending Big Hugs

I found some crafty time this weekend and created a card featuring My Favorite Things new Pure Innocence Sending Big Hugs and their Wednesday Sketch Challenge #181. I water colored the image, added some glossy accents to her heart, then used MME designer paper and some of the matching embellies to create a little banner for this sweet girl to hold. Super easy and CAS.

Crafts 4 Eternity - FOOD!

Hi friends! We're back this week at Crafts 4 Eternity with a super fun recipe, Fabulous Food! I knew I wanted to use a cupcake, I LOVE cupcakes!

But first - the prize! The loving folks at Stamping All Day are offering 3 free downloads to one lucky winner - hope you'll play along!

I made a super CAS card and did a bit of water coloring again; I added this fabby arrow from PTI's Phrase Play #3 die. I cut it 6 times from white card stock, then 1 time from designer paper; glued them all together then added a coating of glossy accents. I added a coat of clear Wink of Stella to the icing of the cupcake; a couple pieces of washi tape and images repeated inside finish off the card.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great weekend and don't forget to join the fun!

PS - Our oldest comes home from Spain Saturday night, she will have been gone 14 days - WOW; it's been a reality dose of what it will be like in August when she heads to college!

Crafts 4 Eternity - Let's Get Sketchy (and creative)

Hi friends - welcome back, thanks for stopping by to visit!

This week at Crafts 4 Eternity, we have a little sketch for you! I was limited on time but when I did sit down to create, I challenged myself to a one layer card (OK, mounted on some cardstock THEN mounted on the card - STOP; it's as close to one layer as I get!! :D - HA HA HA)... I love how this turned out! I played around with some new techniques **to me**.

First up, here's the sketch. And one lucky participant will win 3 free digis from Michele's Craft 4 Eternity store, found HERE.

As you can see, this has quite a few layers, I think I did pretty good keeping it more CAS and one layer. I stamped the linen background in MFT's Grout Grey, then used an acrylic block to stamp two rectangles with MFT inks - the back one is Pink Lemonade, the front one is Red Hot. They were stamped on Tim Holtz water color paper; so the combination of an acrylic block and water color paper gives this amazing, fun, textured-like image! I then stamped the flowers from Verve's Kind Words in MFT's Chocolate Brown, adhered some washi tape and stamped the sentiment below the tape - also in Chocolate Brown. I spritzed the entire card heavily with MFT's Sheer Shimmer Mix-ables Mist (uber tough to see in the pictures...bummer!), but its gorgeous IRL! The shimmer mixed with the ink allowed them to run a little bit adding to the water color look.

I added a layer of clear Wink of Stella to the flowers and a white pearl to the center of each. I dropped on Glimmer Mist in Creme de Chocolate and Candy Apple Red.

Super fun - I hope you'll take the sketch and join the fun. We cannot wait to see what you create.

Thanks again; have a great weekend!

Owl-ways and Forever - Whimsy and Stars Studio

Hi friends - HAPPY THURSDAY! How ya doing?

It's my last post for Whimsy and Stars Studio, I have sooo enjoyed working with Mabelle and her AMAZING images! For this post, we could use our FAVORITE image, but really? I love so many of her images, so instead, I went with a card our children will give my hubby for Father's Day.

But first, I thought I'd show you just a "few" of my favorites from Whimsy and Stars Studio:
 Whimsy and Stars Studio

Seriously, aren't these some of the most adorable images? And since they are digital, you can have SO MUCH FUN!

OK, so back to my creation; I love the Wintery Owls; they are so cute but my card was so difficult - LOL; just one of those days! :D The image was colored with Copics then for the eyes, I applied a layer of glossy accents, then a layer of black dimensional enamel, then a dot of white dimensional enamel. Then I proceeded to DROP A BOTTLE which landed on the large owl's eyes - yeah, seriously. I redid them. Then I proceeded to put my FINGER in the right eye of the large owl. At this point I could only laugh...and walk away for awhile!
From Millan.Net

The base card is kraft, layered with another kraft panel which was stamped with random stars and clear embossed. I added some Broken China and Faded Jeans distress ink over the stars, then ahered my main panel of PTI Dark Chocolate and more kraft. I cut out the owls and added those with dimensional adhesive. The tree branch is a die form Taylored Expressions which I ran through the crimper. The words "owl-ways" and "forever" were stamped with individual letters, the ampersand came from a PTI set which actually says Mr. & Mrs. - just added tape over the words, inked it up, removed the tape and stamped just the ampersand sign.

And that's it! Thanks for stopping by; I hope you've enjoyed the Spring DT's last blog post - be sure to stop by the Whimsy blog and see all the amazing creations!!

Have a great weekend!

Crafts 4 Eternity - For the Boys

Hi friends - welcome back to another fab recipe at Crafts 4 Eternity! This week we are celebrating with "one for the boys"; I love this image from Whipper Snapper - Eli and Frogger. Aren't they just adorable? I can remember when our son would bring frogs - ALL SIZES into the house, holding them much like this with a 'SEE MOM' loud yell as I quickly shooed them back outside where they belonged...well, at least the frog. :D

One lucky participant will win 3 FREE sentiments from Crafty Sentiments Designs just for playing along and with Father's Day just around the corner, everyone can come up with a 'for the boys' card, so come join the fun!

Here's my creation - my very first time TRYING to watercolor - what do you think? I did a watercolor card earlier this week but it was just putting down some color and not really trying for shading or anything...so first attempt - I'll take any feedback you have!!

Courage...

Hi there!

Oh this card - WOW - so much I love, amazing how a mistake can turn out looking ok! :D

I wanted to try water coloring which I have never done before and I learned so much!!

Overall after stamping, embossing and coloring the flowers, the colors were a bit 'bolder' than I wanted, so I grabbed ... what I THOUGHT ... was a clear Wink of Stella glitter pen. Turns out I grabbed the WHITE Wink of Stella pen - that thing is cool; initially it gave the flowers a nice toned down tint...then as it started to dry it turned the flowers WHITE! Hmmm...wonder why? LOL

I used a baby wipe and gently wiped each flower to remove a bit of the White Wink of Stella pen which left such a great look to the flowers! The yellow is a water color crayon, I colored around each flower then painted with water to draw the color out.

And that sentiment? SWOON; love it so very much! "Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow."

A bit of fun black and white washi tape and a small strip of black finishes the card off!

Thanks for popping in; hope you have a GREAT week! See you again soon!
