Verve's April Release - Day 1

Welcome to Verve's April Release Spotlight Hops! A new release is just around the corner and for the next few days we'll be shining our creative spotlights on the new Verve sets and dies releasing Tuesday, April 10.

And I AM BEYOND THRILLED TO BE PLAYING ALONG!!

Today the Divas and ME are sharing inspiration featuring the new Risen Savior stamp set. Check out the Verve Blog post today for the full hop list, prize details, reveals and a little more on this fun new set.

What a gorgeous, beautiful stamp set Julee has created! I had so much fun creating with this one; thankfully I am surrounded by friends that share faith in our Heavenly Father, so it was super fun to create with this set. And the fonts - SWOON!!

My first card uses just the cross in pastel colors and one sentiment. Easy peasy but packs a punch!

My next card leans a bit more towards the mixed media realm. I found the free download of Amazing Grace, resized and printed on copy paper. I sealed it with gesso then pretended to be Shari Carroll and painted on some colors with my fingers. :D

I then added some ink to age the paper a bit so it wasn't stark white, then splattered on some brown ink. A friend looked at the card and said "I see those splatters being US and the Amazing Grace being God"...well said, well said!

I love the cross peeking out from behind the embossed sentiment; subtle but I love it (you might need to click and enlarge to really see it)!

AND...we have...
