Welcome Little One(s)

We're expanding!! NO...not me personally, but our work family has a couple new babies - one boy, one girl and babies are so delightful!

We're having a little baby shower this afternoon so I made a card for each of the daddies that work for us; they both have older kids so we took the easy route and got them gift cards so they could get things they specifically need!

I used images from MFT's BB Happy Hippos, adding balloons and a bow in her hair for the girl and a bowtie for the boy - so versatile! The images were colored with Copics and cut out with MFT's wonky circles. The images were colored based upon designer paper I wanted to use; pretty clean and simple (CAS).

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a GREAT weekend ahead!

Faith, Hope and Love

Oh goodness, I continue to struggle with this nasty cough/congestion and I believe half the people in the world have the same thing. :( Lack of energy and just overall feeling rotten has really given me a run for my money!

Truth? I've taken naps during lunch time several times over the past few weeks. Brutal!

I started a bunch of cards in early January and I'm not sure I'll complete them in the SAME MONTH! But this one I finally did get around to finishing using Verve Visual's January sketch inspiration (see photo below), or see the sketch HERE.

I dabbed on some distress oxide inks directly to a rectangle stamp block, spritzed with water and pressed to the watercolor paper - such an easy way to get an ombre background. I used one of the newer mix and mat dies from PTI and then cut the entire piece out with a stitched rectangle die.

I stamped the flower from Verve Visual (Beautiful Things) and colored with Zig Clean Color Brushes and Copics, die cut some leaves from both Verve (Beautiful Flowers) and Hero Arts (You're So Lovely), added some seam binding and lots of designer paper from Queen and Co. and called it good!

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great week!

You're not old...you're vintage!

I have been so so so sick; no words for how sick I have been. It's been difficult to work each day and by the time I get home, it's typically a breathing treatment and bed! I started an antibiotic Friday night and Saturday morning I was definitely chipper, but that DID NOT last long. Goodness, I sure slept a lot this weekend!!

Anywho, one of my boss's - my main boss - turns 87 today!!! Yes, tis true AND he comes to the office just about every single day, even on the weekend sometimes. That's pretty amazing if I do say so myself. I really wanted to make him a birthday card; he's typically traveling on his birthday so it was rare he was going to be in the office today. But, re-read the first paragraph, I knew I was pretty limited and it would need to be easy. This really old MFT set 'Just My Type' was perfect for the occasion (hopefully this link works, it's to the stamp and die on Pinterest)!

I used some scraps of paper, distressed everything - including the balloon - with Old Paper distress ink, stamped the pieces and quickly put it together. I used some new to me inks from Altenew (Sea Shore) and man did they work GREAT!! After I had the card completely assembled and had taken pictures, I added glossy accents to the balloon. I love how the twine is tied to the balloon and then to the typewriter. :D

That's it, easy peasy lemon squeezy!! Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a GREAT week!

Thank U - Pink

Same card as posted HERE and HERE; just done in pink this time!

I pulled out the little chick delivering an envelope, Reverse Confetti Cuts THANKS, the U from Verve Visual's You and I set (looks like it may be discontinued - sorry), the thin stripe background stamp from Impression ObsessionTHIS and THIS die and some paper scraps - I have those galore - and set about making a few different color combos. Today I wanted to show you the blue one; next up will be the pink one - they are all identical; the green one just had a smaller piece of pattern paper for the front. ;)

Here's a group shot I shared on Instagram.

I had the toughest time finding a way to make the 'thank' part work - as you can see from the Confetti Cut, I only used a small portion of the die; I finally ended up cutting it from vellum and layered it (slightly offset) on to True Black (2 cards) and Smokey Shadow (1 card). The U was stamped with the thin striped stamp mentioned above. The chick was colored with Copics, I added a white highlight and glossy accents to the heart of each. Super fun, super simple.

Thanks for stopping by!

Thank U - use ALL the companies

This post is all about using a zillion companies to make a card - HA!! Not really!

I had a co-worker ask about thank you cards and I had just recently received these adorable chicks from Stamping Bella and I saw THIS card and ideas started running amok!
