All in one - masculine

A friend needed a birthday AND graduation combo card for a friend; I've made more masculine cards in the last month than I've made in the last year. HA!

I have these papers from echo park that I just love (believe it or not, the paper pad was in my 'donate' stash, but I recently rediscovered them and have used them 3 times) - yea for using that stash!!

I used this weeks sketch at Splitcoaststampers, you can see it bright and early tomorrow morning or take a peek down below. Instead of the small focal point, I used a bit larger focal point and added sentiments from 4 different stamp sets, all embossed in Hero Arts clear embossing powder, I sponged on Mermaid Lagoon and Hickory Smoke distress inks. The 1 and 8 are actually glitter thickers - I sanded the tops but there was STILL glitter on there....oh goodness. But no fear, I used the Mermaid Lagoon distress stain and streaked the bottom, then applied the Hickory Smoke ink pad directly to the numbers; then one more swipe with Mermaid Lagoon, splattered on some Hero Arts Unicorn White and finished them off with glossy accents. Love how they look!

Some distressing on a couple layers and that's it. Thanks for stopping by; hope you'll join the fun over at Splitcoaststampers this week!

Hugs,

Tall & Skinny...I am not!

Hello friends - it feels like Monday to me due to the holiday - that means I'll be confused all week long. :0 But it was a GREAT weekend - hope yours was too!

This week at Mojo Monday, Julee is going all Tall and Skinny...which I am not; always wanted to be, but much more short and squat - HA!

I had so much fun making this little shaker card; I used the WPlus9 Unforgettable stamp and die set and the Polaroid die set from MFT. I colored the elephant with Copics using the die to cut him out and placed him peeking through the polaroid; then I stamped the party hat on designer paper and added some shading with Copics. I stamped just the balloon on both white card stock and designer paper to give it a bit more thickness then tied it to the party hat with hemp twine. I added a layer of vellum behind the polaroid, some foam adhesive, some sequins and then a fun chevron patterned paper.

The overall card is 3.5" by 5.5"; more patterned paper and glitter paper finish off the front along with some washi tape. And of course, I waited to stamp my sentiment till the polaroid was finished...yes, that DID NOT go well - *groan* - so I added a little orange flag to hide the oopsie! :D

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great week!

Just Because

Hi friends - welcome back for another fun sketch over at Splitcoaststampers! You can see the sketch live tomorrow or catch a sneak peek down below.

Talk about getting all colorful and springy - OOOOO AAAAAHHHHH! :D

Instead of a circle, I used this adorable 'Enclosed Present Stamp and Die' set from Papertreyink; I absolutely love it...and I'm not sure why but I love creating ombre colors for the present die - I've done it time and time again (HERE and HERE are a couple of them), and this time was no exception!

I stamped a cute little 'just because' tag and used MFT's Damask Background stamped 2nd generation in Steel Grey for a fun accent. I die cut the bow a 2nd time, sponged in ombre colors and mounted with glue dots for a tiny bit of dimension.

Hope you join the fun, we love seeing your creations with the sketch challenge!! Have a great week.

Hugs,

Graduations Galore!!

We have tons of friends graduating this year so I've been making lots of cards to give away - I needed one more feminine card and I am IN LOVE with the colors for CTD393 this week - SWOON! My 'light pink' is a bit more peach and it ultimately turned into a crazy combo but I still love it!

Both Laura and Carissa showed partial diecutting this week which I adore but CLEARLY the size of your die at an angle must be able to fit through your diecutting machine...wonder how I would know about that - HA! Laura didn't use a die and that clearly would be easier but I liked the stitched border - live and learn...and try again!

I stamped the 2 medium flowers, masked and stamped the larger one underneath, I colored all the layers with Copics then traced the image with a fine tip sharpie THEN when back and added a bit bolder edge to the right side of all the petals - love how it changes the look just a bit. I probably could have made them even thicker...

See the shimmer - swoon!!
That banner on the right hand side? Yeah, remember when I said I NEVER stamp or adhere anything straight...#truth...had to cover it up with an embossed flag and a couple pieces of washi tape just for fun. The main panel was layered onto a Mama Elephant scalloped die cut from MFT designer paper and PTI Raspberry Fizz. And I have so much designer paper, I pulled a full sheet from a completely different pad and used the full sheet on the inside cutting another scalloped piece, a small border for the bottom and added a thin strip of washi tape.

Some gorgeous PPP sequins and clear wink of stella finish off the card. Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great weekend!

Gina K + Hero Arts

Hi friends - happy, happy weekend!! I'm up over at A Blog Named Hero with 3 mini tone-on-tone cards...and there is the possibility that I cheated and threw in some other colors on the base layer.
