More Scribbled Circles Meets Retro Sketch

Happy Saturday friends - hope this post finds you all doing great and enjoying the weekend!

Retro Sketch #156 time frame to play along was extended - yeah for me, so I set to work just having fun using the sketch. I pulled out some older MME paper, PTI Scribble Circles and a heart die from MFT. The medium scribble circle was cut 4 times from SU! Real Red card stock and once from PTI's vellum - tiny polka dots. The heart was cut 7 times from misc. white card stock and the top heart embossed 3 times with Liquid Enamel embossing powder. Once the embossing cooled, I added Clear Wink of Stella and a thick layer of glossy accents. I also embossed the small space (line) with Liquid Enamel - man that color is gorgeous.

LOTS 'O LAYERS!
Layered it all together, added some thread, a double-ended fishtail flag of a larger polka dot vellum from PTI and some sequins - and that's it! Fun time playing.

Hope you have a great weekend! See you again soon!

Hugs,

Crafts 4 Eternity - pastels

Hi friends. It's FRIDAY - yippee - any of my readers enjoying March Madness? Our family loves college basketball and truly loves this time of year - each year, every year!! :D

This week at Crafts 4 Eternity, our recipe is pastel shades! Have you seen all the water coloring popping up? It is so very popular! I decided to try my hand at no-line water coloring so I stamped my little cupcake from Birthday Bash (super old Cornish Heritage Farm set by Kim Hughes) 3 times (HELLO MISTI... :D) - do you have YOUR MISTI tool? I stamped the image in MFT Kraft ink, masked it off and stamped two more times - once to the left, once to the right and went right to town water coloring with distress markers. I did the cupcakes and the lower portion first, then went on about life allowing it to dry. I came back a few days later and wanted to add the purple around everything....GAH...SOMEONE please tell me how to keep the other water coloring which you have previously done from bleeding - I mean, it is WATER color, so get it wet, it spreads. LOL I guess I'll have to try rubber cement or some type of masking fluid, any recommendations?

Anywho, I added the background and moved forward with the card. I added glossy accents to the icing and candles, then sprinkled the flames with rock crystals.

The layout is the week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #260. Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great weekend!

Hugs,

We are at it again!!

Welcome back for another week for a fun, friendly little challenge with my sweet friend - Tammy - at Highland Homemade. This time we decided to use a Pure Innocence image from MFT - I chose "Sending Big Hugs". I also decided why not make TWO cards so I set to stamping, embossing, and coloring - absolutely HATING the first one, so thank goodness I could try again. UGH...

But as we all know, not everything we create turns out as we see it in our mind; regardless, I'll show you both. First up is Pure Innocence with some Kraft and new Cracked Pistachio distress ink! I used a circle stencil for the background adding white ink to each dot, letting it dry, then re-positioning the stencil slightly and adding the Cracked Pistachio ink. LOVE! Image was colored with Copics; I kept the card very simple.

Next up is the same image but placed inside the 'picture window' from Lawn Fawn's #awesome set - I used just the matching die. The layout for this one is an older Sunday Sketch For You to Try.

That's it, thanks for popping by - hope you have a GREAT week. Don't forget to check out what my sweet friend, Tammy at Highland Homemade, created!!

Take care!

PS - please note how my clear Wink of Stella pen pooped on her dress - UGH; one of many problems. LOL

Hugs,

Crafts 4 Eternity - Mum/Mom

Hi friends - how are you? This week at Crafts 4 Eternity we are back with a super fun recipe focusing on MUM/MOM or any female themed project. One lucky participant will win 4 free images from Sassy Studio Designs.

I went with a female themed project. I started with a piece of Tim Holtz water color paper and cut 3 scribble circles from PTI and layered leaves from MFT, adhered in a pattern I liked with temporary adhesive to the card base then sponged on some Spun Sugar, Mustard Seed, and Bundled Sage; I then sprayed the entire base, including the scribbled circles and leaves with MFT's Sheer Shimmer Mist. Once dry, I lifted the die cut pieces and offset them slightly so a bit of the original white background was showing - LOVE! Such fun and a technique I can see myself using time and time again!

Card inspired by Julie Stainton!

I added a simple embossed sentiment - and you can see it ended up fitting right over one of the die cuts so I left that piece off. Where the small portion overlapped the one leaf, I just used a black Sharpie to finish out the sentiment right on top of the die. A black embossed strip and some gorgeous sequins finish it off. Thanks for stopping by - hope you have a GREAT weekend!

Getting Sketchy with Tammy!

Hi friends - how are you? I am back again with another super fun challenge with my sweet friend Tammy - at Highland Homemade. This time Tammy chose a sketch (see below) and I chose Kraft card stock.

I made the one type of card crafters never really enjoy making, but are needed; I'll put this one in my stash. And once again, still following along with Kathy's 30 day coloring challenge, I tried another water color look. I "want" to go bold and outline the images and then fade the color out...but yeah, I'm kinda chicken BUT I promise to try it soon!! I colored the flowers with Distress Markers then spritzed with water before stamping. I then added a bit darker color of distress ink to the bottom of the flower, misted and stamped again. For the last step, I used a paintbrush and Inktense pencils for a bit more color at the base of the flowers, stems and leaves. And of course...had to add a little shimmer!

I embossed the sentiment on a strip of vellum, layered everything up, stamped the pink panel with MFT's damask background and layered it onto some Kraft card stock; 3 enamel dots finish it off. One I colored yellow, one purple and the pink is untouched...which makes me think I need some purple and chocolate enamel dots - yes, I think I do.

Thanks for stopping by; be sure to check out Tammy's creation HERE - I can't wait to see it right along with YOU!!

Hope you have a GREAT week!

Crafts 4 Eternity - ANYTHING but a Card

Hi there - happy Friday!! This week at Crafts 4 Eternity, we have a super fun recipe - Anything But A Card...hmmm...I didn't make a card but I did make some gift tags - that's different right?
Smiley from Millan.Net
I hope you can join the fun, one lucky participant will win 3 images from Crafts 4 Eternity - you can check their shop out HERE.

Have you seen Kathy's super fun 30 day coloring challenge? I'm loving it; I don't ALWAYS have time to participate each day, but I love trying to carve out just a few minutes to do a little crafting, makes this momma happy!!

So if you don't have a cup of coffee, cup of tea, or a soda in front of you, grab one b/c we are venturing to picture overload. :D

I made 6 tags in all, a group shot (but I forgot to put in my little robot... :( )...but here are all the girly ones! Then individual pictures; the floral ones are all mounted on PTI's new printed vellum - SERIOUS love going on. I also added a matching piece of card stock to the back so you can right the To/From also. OR write that on the inside of the tag and your message on the back - lots of versatility!

Hugs,

MAN UP you hear?

Hi friends - how are you? I am back again with another super fun (yet somewhat painful) challenge with my sweet friend - Tammy - at Highland Homemade. This time I chose Washi (not Tammy's favorite), so she felt like playing mean and chose "masculine" (not my favorite) - HA. I tried REALLY hard to allow her to change it, but nope, she said MAN UP...well I can only woMAN UP! HA HA
So here we go! I made this cute little card using the Retro Sketch #155 (picture below); some fun designer paper from Doodlebug and 3 different styles of washi tape. The orange one is brand new to me and worked perfectly for this card!

The image is a super old one from Cornish Heritage Farms called "Little Boy"; I colored the image with distress markers, carried over the theme to the inside and stamped the sentiment "hey dude".

Thanks for stopping by; be sure to check out Tammy's creation HERE - I can't wait to see it!

Hope you have a GREAT week!

2 Cute Ink - Butterfly Doodle Digi

Welcome back to another super fun image release from 2 Cute Ink - Butterfly Doodle; isn't she adorable?

My color inspiration came from an older Just Us Girls (JUGS) Challenge (JUGS281) - picture below; I would have never dreamed to put these colors together and quicky discovered I do not own ANY navy card stock.
Smiley from Millan.Net
But alas, some PTI Blueberry Sky to the rescue - closest thing I had. The image was printed onto Neenah white card stock and colored with Copics and a silver metallic pen; some fun layers, a silver flag and clouds finish it off - pretty simple but oh so cute!

Thanks for fluttering by; hope you have a GREAT week!!
