LCI Photo / Color Inspiration

Welcome back to the LCI Challenge and thanks for joining us in July; we loved seeing all your creations!

This week we have a photo / color inspiration picture for you:

I made two cards for this challenge but I will not force ANY of you - even my enemies - to view the first card; LORDY, that was U-G-L-Y!!! So bad that I HAD to create the next night to prove I could make something decent - HA!!

This is a square card with a bit of mixed media going on - FUN!! I splattered on some Twinkling H2O's onto the background of the Aqua Mist card stock - then covered it up - go figure! The doily was painted with some purple Twinkling H2O's and it was ugly...do you see a theme with my creating this week? :-/

I then painted over the purple with a white Twinkling H2O and it was better but still just not right. Well, time to pull out the gesso and paint some more! I added a thin layer of gesso to 'most' of the doily; but the best part is there is still plenty of sparkle and shimmer from the first 2 coats of Twinkling H2O's! I then colored my image and layered it onto some Royal Velvet card stock and adhered those layers to the doily. I added a small decorative border of Royal Velvet also. This card is much better - can't say I'm "thrilled" but heavens to betsy it was certainly better than that first disaster...the one that my daughter picked up and said "is that sentiment supposed to be crooked" - ah, hush wee little girl and GO TO YOUR ROOM. LOL

Hope you'll take some time to join us this month; we so love seeing all the magnificent creations using the inspiration photo, colors above!

Hugs,
