This week at The House That Stamps Built we are CASE'ing (copy and share everything) a card made by Lynette - and let me say - IT IS GORGEOUS!!!As I mentioned Tuesday, I am working to build up my stash of cards, so once again, I created 2 cards, each just a bit different.
I used the same image as Lynette - Daffodils - and embossed them in white on vellum which was adhered to a piece of white cardstock - lightly sponged in yellow. I colored the images on the back side of the vellum with watercolor pencils - love how this turned out!
Before we go any further, would someone PLEASE tell me what you use to adhere vellum? I have tried SO MANY THINGS, they either show the adhesive OR don't hold the way I want them to - so if you have some input, please share!
OK, Lynette's card is this beautiful birthday card, like I said, SO gorgeous don't you think?My base card was white for each, then I added the various embossed layers and designer paper. One, I tied the ribbon around and made a bubbly bow, the other I punched the edge of card stock with a MS deep edge punch, then adhered a piece of ribbon without wrapping it around.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards, Michele! Excellent job casing Lynette's card! The best tip I have for adhering vellum is to cover up the spot where your adhesive is! You can use a small dab of Glossy Accents or something in the corners, for example, and then cover it with pearls or dew drops. It's a common problem - you're not alone! - and the reason I hardly ever use vellum!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome cards, Michele - love the bright, cheery colors! Double-sided Duck Tape works pretty well for adhering vellum. I think you can still get it at JoAnn's.

ReplyDeleteyour cards are lovely. when i stick vellum sometimes i just use mini glue dots then wrap with ribbon. Most of the time i just punch holes and use brads. In a pinch glue stick but have to spread it out very thin with finger. stamping sue

ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards Michele and a great design to CASE - I hardly ever use velumn, cos its too trickly to hide the adhesive, but a dot or two of a strong ahedive can be hidden behind a gem or other embellishment

Absolutely gorgeous Michele! That vellum looks so pretty. Like the others, the only thing I know to do is to use embellishments to cover the spots where you used adhesive.

Hi honey! I have used a glue runner before but I can't remember the make, but Glue Dots also do a vellum glue. You can see it here from a UK shop...
