Love to Scrap - LTSCB #125

Hi friends,

I am SO EXCITED that it's 'anything goes' at Love to Scrap this month!! I had surgery August 21 but had made quite a few things in advance; so yeah - I'm still able to play along even though I can't currently create!

Meanwhile, here's a little shot of me in my current state; this was day following surgery in hubby's shirt and my pillow sling that is attached to me for a few more weeks. :)

I saw a card by Laurie Willison and had to recreate something very similar; the ONLY stamping on the entire card is the HELLO in Simon Says gray fog ink; everything else is patterned paper.

On the front panel, I added the patterned paper to a piece of cardstock that matched the inside; fun to see that peek of color (you can just see it on the side view).

Oh my, I do adore this massive succulent from Altenew (mega succulent) and to be completely honest? I colored it with Zig Clean Clear Brushes a L-O-N-G time ago but never finished it into a card!

I had a sweet friend having a birthday, she loves succulents, so voila, it finally made itself into a card...alright, alright, I helped make it into a card.

I used the amazing SSS This is the Life die to create the gold frame - but I swear, I can never do anything with shiny gold or silver card stock without getting smudges on it...I should have used tweezers to place it!

Tripe Time Stamping at Mix It Up

Hi friends - welcome back to another fun challenge at the Mix It Up blog; this month it is Triple Time Stamping (or you can do anything goes, as always); seriously, so many fun options with the triple time stamping - we really hope you will join us!

It took a few tries to get this one finished; I've honestly never done triple time stamping. #truth
I know, how is that possible!?!

I LOVE this peony stamp set from Altenew; it has so many gorgeous flowers, leaves and little odds & ends you can add to your card. I stamped the leaves in varying brown colors for something different and used oxide inks for the flowers and berries; I just adore how they turned out. I matted the panels on to some Summer Sunrise card stock and mounted everything on a Raspberry Fizz card base.

I will definitely be trying this technique again; I love how it turned out and want to try a few other options.

Pocket Full of Tags

This month at the Love to Scrap challenge blog, we are playing Shape Shift, hope you join us! I had a friend ask for a variety of things recently, so when I saw Laurie's tag set, I just HAD to CASE it - I love it so much! And I pretty much CASE'd every single piece! :D

I had recently purchased the Kaisercraft die cut set and loved the colors; and it made creating the tags so quick and easy!

I blended Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick and Barn door on the front of the card; for the tags I used Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, and Picked Raspberry; then I covered all that up with the die cuts. LOL!!

I used some older MFT tags that appear to no longer be available, but any tag shapes will work! I left the back side blank so any message can be included.

Thinking of You w/Altenew Garden Picks

OK; I know beyond a shadow of a doubt, there is a much quicker way to create this card - it literally took me hours. LOL Maybe that's because there was a lot of stopping and starting? Not sure; but I water colored each layer of the flowers and leaf clusters (Garden Picks) using lots of various Altenew inks, then splattered on tons of white droplets. Once the droplets dried, I spritzed with shimmer mist.

I used a wonky circle die for the focal piece blending on some worn lipstick using the TE Blender Brushes, stamping the sentiment with Gina K amalgam black ink and proceeded to layer the flowers and leaves.

The background? Man, I love it - it's Altenew's Tuxedo washi tape which is approximately 4.5 inches wide, so perfect for covering an A2 card. I used it to cover some Neenah 80 lb. white card stock, then die cut with a MFT blueprint and mounted with fun foam to the card base.

I tried to get a picture of the depth of the 3D flowers; SO. MANY. LAYERS.

I finished the card with some PPP Marshmallow Confetti. Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great day!

Giraffe - go wild!

Remember this feminine elephant card last week? Here's my boy birthday card using the Party Animal stamp set from WPlus9. I used a Tim Holtz stencil to shade some various colors in the background and once again die cut the balloon from designer paper. The giraffe was colored with Copics and cut with the matching die.

Ella the Elephant says Happy Birthday

Yes, I named the elephant Ella. LOL Don't know why; but I like it!

I needed some birthday cards for a friend so I set about using a couple sets from WPlus9; this one is Unforgettable; I will show you the other card, a masculine card, in a few days. I adore this big ole balloon (WPlus9 Party Animal); it's fun to color, stamp on patterned paper, as I did here, blend some colors on - so many options. Once stamped, I added stars in a variety of inks and cut with the matching die. I finished the card with lots of  'schtuff'; I blended a white die cut panel using MFT's Circle Burst stencil (one of my fave stencils) and a couple of pink inks, some left over designer paper cut with a stitched border die, part of a doily and a larger bright pink die cut as the base layer. Isn't the elephant so very cute?

Dot Coloring

Hi friends - remember THIS card? I created that one and the one included in this post today at the same time; I specifically needed a sympathy card for a sweet friend that experienced an unexpected death in their family, but I wanted it to be something different; I wasn't thrilled with the pink card, so I decided to add these crazy dots.

Have you seen creations by Alex Syberia? She creates like this quite often and actually has a hashtag on Instagram, #dotcoloringwithalex and there are some amazing creations! So I actually added a base layer of color to the flowers and then added dots for shading, then more dots of various colors for the uniqueness. I also wanted the center flower to stand out the most, hence why I kept the other 2 gray, same as the pink card. The sympathy banner actually covers up a big boo-boo but it worked great I think!

DRS Flowers - Love to Scrap

It's a GREAT month to join us at Love to Scrap as our theme is ANYTHING GOES; always a favorite! But the design team is using images from DRS Designs; so be sure to pop over to each member's blog to see what fun images we are using!

I am using the Spring Crocus image; I saw some incredible rainbow flowers so I thought I would try two things: rainbow flowers and colored pencils. I shall not admit HOW LONG it took me to color these; I had vibrant colors but didn't like the 'details' I added, so I blended them out with OMS and they weren't colorful enough. Sigh...so more colored pencils - and I think I'm happy, I just have a lot of work to do. LOL, practice, practice, practice - #amiright? If you follow me on Instagram, you can see my dilemma- LOL!

It's still such a gorgeous image and I layered it up with all sorts of things! The white border was literally just on my desk and fit perfectly; I created the chocolate frame, added a doily and embossed the fabulous sentiment from PTI Floral Sketches.

Hey Dude - Foiled

This month at Mix It Up, we're using foil (or anything goes). And - WOW - I am new to using a minc machine, but man, does it produce beautiful results!!

I used one of my favorite stencils (square dance stencil) and decofoil, applied it randomly to a piece of 110 lb. white card stock; I allowed it to dry overnight, then ran it through my minc machine using amethyst decofoil. I tried to capture the colors; amazing, it has blue, gold and silver.

I used the Stamp Market hey die cut from white card stock 3 times, then cut from blue and gold card stock. The 'dude' is from a discontinued stamp company, but I thought it was perfect as I wanted this to be a masculine card. I embossed the dude with white embossing powder; can you see how the foil reflects on the 'hey' in some areas and looks blue (at the top); there's no blue card stock there, strictly a reflection of the foil - amazing!
