Happy Mudder's Day

Oh yes! Another day of gettin' dirty in the Pig Pen - seriously, what could be better? And just look at this beauty - yeah, she loves the mud! And she's just here to say "Happy Mudder's Day" - perfect, just perfect. Hambo Stamps has some of the funniest stamps, I just giggle when I get a new order of stamps!

I used the layout from The Sweet Stop - another great one. I did another double-loop with the dark chocolate twill ribbon and also left two tails which I cut into the "v" - can you see them? I should have taken a side view picture so you could see it better - looks cool IRL.

Be sure to stop back by later this week as I'll be showing off my booty!  :D  tee hee!!!

... just here to say "Happy Mudder's Day a few months early ...

Hugs, ~M.

Happy Thanksgiving from all the Sweeties at Cupcake Inspirations
We are so happy you're joining us this week!
We are sponsored this week by JLJ Designs.

One lucky person will win a $10 Gift Certificate to their store

Thanks to Jenn (one of our newest Sweeties!) for sponsoring this challenge
and providing our team with images this week.

Our inspiration cupcake cake for this week:

Ever notice how I'm the oddball of the group (no comments needed - HA!)? I didn't do anything with turkeys - just the colors! :D

I needed a card for someone special to let them know things WILL get better; I had seen a card by Amber (Damask Love) just like this and decided to CASE it using hearts - hence "From the Heart" sentiment; I replicated the colors from the turkey - ya gotta admit, he's a pretty cute little turkey and one I wouldn't mind eating! HA!

Everyone can find some inspiration in that beautiful turkey, so be sure to join us this week as the gift certificate to Jenn's store should be coveted - her stuff rocks!!

... gobble, gobble, gobble ...

Hugs, ~M.

5 Years Ago Today...

For a moment, albeit brief, I thought the world had stopped moving - the sobs were gut wrenching, loud, overwhelming...and at the same time the silence was deafening...and life really hurt...and our little ones discovered life here on earth is not "forever".

Five years ago today, Jim's father passed away at the age of 66. The first parent we have lost, the first grandparent our children have lost. We knew the time was drawing close, we had time to prepare - but are you ever really prepared? No...trust me...no!

I made this card for hubby, each of the kid's signed it and I wrote a little note inside. Lots of hidden meanings in the card - most I don't even imagine hubby will see, but let me share them with you.

The edges are distressed - losing a loved one is rough, distressing. I used direct-to-paper of Pumice Stone Distress Ink - those edges look almost black don't they? Yeah, that's how you feel.

The heart - it's cut from paper with a beautiful design - our hearts are interwoven with love, but also broken into small pieces.

The button and stitching (the stitching is tough to see, but it's on all 3 layered panels) represent stitching life back together because life keeps marching on whether you want it to or not!

The vine - growing and accepting that your loved one is gone.

I remember the service as if I'm still there - it was sad but also filled with lots of laughter. Our son, age 6 at the time, did something so hilarious during the service - EVERYONE laughed - and that was good.

It was a unique service in that the 3 boys (hubby and his 2 brothers) did the entire service - yes, they each spoke and the oldest preached the service. GULP!

So many more unique moments went into the day we laid him in his final resting spot; but I'm so thankful for the memories, but most of all? I'm thankful for the man he gave to me...his son...my husband.

We love you JWG; you will ALWAYS live within our hearts!

Hugs, ~M.

TLT - Fairies

This week the TLT gang is focusing on Fairies per Queenie Poo's request. Love little Ruby, she makes a super sweet fairy with lots of options and while you're checking out sweet Ruby, don't forget about the Stamp of the Month (half price all month long):

For my card, I'm using Balloon Ruby - she's just the sweetest thang!! I added some chunky crystal to her wings and some glossy accents to her balloon. Don't you love the little ladybug crawling on her balloon? Yeah, couldn't resist using polka dot paper that also includes little ladybugs!

As a last minute addition, I added the double-looped ribbon and just love how it looks!

Hope you'll join us over at the TLT challenge blog this week! Thanks for stopping by!
