CAS Rainbow

Hi friends - super quick post for a pretty quick card!

Prior to my shoulder surgery, I took some time to just PLAY. I used the MFT Sun Rays Mix-ables stencil and some purple tape to section off each stripe and create a rainbow of sunshine! I sponged the colors darker towards the bottom and faded out towards the top. I added this fantastic sentiment from Penny Black, Faith. Once finished, I sprayed with glitter dust.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you're having a great week!!

Hugs,

Congrats!

Goodness; I feel like I'm shorter on time than ever before!! I bet you can relate eh?

I created this fun card for a dear friend that is going to be a grandmother for the first time; although I am 100% confident, she will NOT be called 'grandmother'; there are so many unique names out there now!

I die cut 3 circles out of Neenah 80 lb. card stock, and then lightly drew the pencils on to the front of the top folding card. I then stamped each image, masked them off and used a TE blender brush to add color. I stayed with a baby neutral color palette as this card was made before they knew the sex of the baby. I colored the images, added the sentiment and then mounted with foam tape. I added some fun paper to the inside, as well as some washi tape.

Thanks for stopping by; I always appreciate your visit!

Hugs,

Mix It Up - Open Technique

Hi friends - welcome to the super fun Mix It Up challenge of Open Technique - use ANY technique you love to do!

I am not great at water coloring, but I keep trying! It's a technique I love seeing others do so inspiration is endless. That's the technique I wanted to try this month AND I used colors I never use. EEEeekkkk!!! But it turned out better than I anticipated. LOL

The large flower and leaves were previously water colored and I added some details with a sharpie; I then colored the small bud to match. Orange is not my gig, but I had this polka dot patterned paper so it just fell together after that. I cut the frame (Die Cuts and More) and then adhered it with dimension, added the floral bouquet in the bottom corner flat with a few pieces of foam adhesive under the leaves. And I love mixing colors of leaves, that's one of my favorite things!

I don't have the matching dies, so I fussy cut the images.

Hope you'll take the time to join us this month at Mix It Up and show us YOUR favorite technique!

Hugs,

Teapot Gift Holders

Hi friends!

I am about 5 weeks out since my shoulder surgery; recovery is slow and stamping or creating for any length of time doesn't work well; but I try to work on things a little at a time.

Hope you will join us this week at Love to Scrap where we are creating Anything but a Card - won't that be fun, always fun to do something different!

I created these little gift card holders, OR you could slip in a couple tea bags OR some cash; they are just adorable (I think)! This is an older die from MFT (treat sacks); I don't think they carry it anymore, but there are so many like this on the market. They could even be great on the inside of a card - or outside, lots of options, but since we aren't making cards, I didn't travel that avenue but wanted to give you a few ideas.

I'm all about using up my scraps of designer paper, so I chose a couple pieces that basically had the same colors - different paper pads, but alas, I could color the images similarly and they would work. I mounted each image on another stitched die cut circle and thought it would be fun to offset them to one edge. I added lots of shimmer using a Tonic Aqua Shimmer pen and details with a white gel pen and colored pencils. I added a sentiment strip on two layers of vellum, easy to hide adhesive that way. ;) Simple and easy - just the way I like it!

Be sure to stop by Love to Scrap to see all the amazing creations, then join the fun!

Hugs,
