A Little Note for You

I stamped the beautiful Kind Soul stamp set from WPlus9 on this large Lawn Fawn tag and embossed with white embossing powder. I added a base coat of watercolor, then used Copics, then a pencil for the nooks and crannies as Kathy teaches - not sure what I think about it. LOL

Once the image was finished, I added a wash of light blue, then layered with a stencil and used Unicorn ink to add the stripes. Some Nuvo drops, a sweet sentiment and some misc. designer paper finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by; have a great week!

Hugs,

Happiest of Birthdays to You!

Anyone else playing along with the #dailymarker30day coloring challenge? I always love when Kathy hosts these events and try to play along as much a possible. You can jump in and play at any time; play as much or as little as you want. I always start off strong...but as the 30 days creep along, I tend to slack a bit. lol

I made this card using the WPlus9 Modern Peony set stamped on Neenah 80 lb. white card stock and colored with Copics; I kept everything black/white/gray except for the center flower; I wanted it to pop. I added a large birthday sentiment from SSS Sketched Flowers embossed in white on dark gray card stock; splattered on some ink and before mounting to the pink card stock, I embossed lines on the diagonal every 1/2 inch.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great week ahead!

Hugs,

With Sympathy

Hi friends!

I saw a video quite some time ago by Therese Calvert which I fell in love with...but then I did the technique incorrectly. LOL But still, her video was direct inspiration for this card.

Super simple, love using two dies to create a frame when you don't have just what you need. The flowers I stamped months ago; I used the majority on a previous project, but had a few left over and they've come in extra handy to finish off cards. These are definitely more masculine colors, but some basic flowers work I believe.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you're having a great week!

Hugs,

Neon Flowers - why not!

My boss asked for a card for his wife; I didn't have any extras on hand but said I could whip one up for him, what color or colors does she like. He replied neon, every neon possible; so I went to work. I still had the rose overlay die from MFT on my desk and knew it would be perfect. I picked some bright distress crayons, scribbled on water color paper and smeared around with a slightly damp finger. Once I was happy with the colors, I sprayed with shimmer mist and splattered on white paint. I cut a piece of black card stock, used the square dance stencil from SSS and smoothed on some Shimmery Goodness paste. I left it smooth in some areas and then pulled off a bit more of the paste in other areas - ah ya know, yin and yang!

I set all that aside to dry, die cut multiple Layered Leaves also used distress crayons (and a bit more water) to color; I adhered the outline of the leaves a bit off-center, I just liked the look. Once everything was dry, I adhered the outline of the roses (white card stock) and assembled the card.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great weekend ahead!

Mix It Up Challenge - Inlaid Die Cutting

Hi friends - it's that time again; another super fun challenge from Mix It Up - please join us; you can do the 'twist' or 'anything goes'!

I love this rose overlay die from MFT (looks like they no longer carry it, BUT they do have scribble roses and it would work great too)!

I already had the hot pink outline of the rose so I die cut another rose out of orange polka dot paper and inlaid those pieces into the rose. I then used MFT's layered leaves, die cut from scraps of designer paper and inlaid those.

The background is cut with Penny Black's Antique Frame from Tim Holtz watercolor paper. Using a rainbow of distress oxide inks, I swiped them direct to paper; spritzed with water and soaked up the spots - it left a cool oxidation which ties in to the designer paper I used as pieces of it have a 'worn' look to it, although hard to see.

I added some fun foam to the focus point and mounted on some yellow card stock and white card base.

Thanks for stopping by; we really hope you will join us over at Mix It Up!

Hugs,
