Is it Spring yet? SSS Spring Flowers

Hi there friends - probably like most of you, I am ready for Spring! We have had crazy up and down temps, 50's one day, 30's next... and lots of sickness going around. :(

BUT I was determined to make a bright and happy card! Our youngest daughter has a co-worker that is leaving the company, she really likes this co-worker so I made this card for her. Our daughter didn't work Saturday, but it was her co-worker's last day, so she drove about 20 minutes one way to deliver the card and tell her goodbye - sweet!

I used that smooshing technique that I love so much with Black Soot in the background. Once dry, I spritzed with water and blotted up the excess, then I added drops of Tattered Angels in shimmering white; it fades back to be very, very soft.

I cut a white frame using Lil Inkers Dual Stitched dies, just taped the 2nd and 3rd sizes together. I also cut the same frame from fun foam for extra dimension. The flowers were stamped on Ranger water color paper and colored with Zigs, I added some white gel pen for accents and then assembled all the pieces. BTW, the far left flower has the stem turned upside down - HA - I wanted it to curve the other direction, but didn't think about it before I stamped the image so I 'made it work'!

Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs,

Happy 4th Birthday AH

Hi friends - how are you doing?

I'm doing great, 2017 has been off to a rough start for our family, LOTS of sickness, but I think we are finally all on the mend!

My co-worker's daughter, whom our daughter babysits occasionally, recently turned 4 and had a birthday party this past weekend. Our daughter had to work, so I went! :D

I was up early Saturday morning to FINALLY make her birthday card; I saw the below MFT sketch and thought it was a perfect jumping off point for the card. I mixed and matched lots of designer paper and stamped up 4 bright and cheery birthday candles.`

I was also inspired by a recent card by Barbara, you can see it HERE. Some glossy accents finished off the candle 'flames' and 'happy'. Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great week!

Hugs,

Top 3 - YAY

2017 has not started off well for my family - goodness, the sickness has run rampant with 4 out of 5 of us being sick; two of us (me being 1) are still struggling immensely, so I'm definitely off to a slower start than I prefer. But when I finally got around to checking my blog, I found I was chosen as one of the Top 3 for this tag - that made me smile. Thank you Chris!

a2z Scrapbooking - Anything Goes

Hi friends - hope you have thoroughly enjoyed the holidays. Our oldest is studying in France and had a SUPER rough first semester, she always planned to study abroad for a year but wasn't sure she could do it after her experience - if interested, you can read the story HERE; hubby surprised me by bringing her home for the holidays...I tear up just typing this!! They surprised me in a restaurant and I sobbed longer and louder than any baby you've ever seen! A waitress came over late and said "I don't know what that was all about, but it was one of the most precious things I've ever seen"; so yeah...I've enjoyed the holidays greatly! AND I'm happy to report, she's in a much better living situation and will return for the 2nd semester allowing her to complete her dream.

So...welcome to 2017!!

We are back with everyone's favorite kind of challenge - ANYTHING GOES! I made two cards; identical as far as layout, images, cover plate, etc., only the sentiments are different. I mixed some floral images from Hero Arts, You're So Lovely and For You Flowers. And don't forget, you can save 15% at a2z's Etsy store by using code: MicheleG15! AND, don't see something you want/need/like? They do custom orders, just ask!

anything-goes

Added foam tape for some uber dimension under each stripe

I have this stitched cover plate from Lil Inkers, Stitches and Stripes, and thought it would be fun to use both the positive and negative of the die once cut, and white on white would allow the flowers to really pop. I was also inspired by this card by Amy Kolling. The rest is pretty self explanatory! I did stamp the flowers and leaves in distress ink and shaded with Copics in a few places.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you'll join our January ANYTHING GOES challenge!
