Birthday Prezzies for you!

Hi friends - welcome back for another fun sketch over at Splitcoaststampers!  You can see the sketch bright and early tomorrow morning or catch a sneak peek down below!

I already had this image colored but it fit better into a square than a circle, IMHO; the rest is pretty much as the sketch dictates. Remember - the sketch is just a jumping off point so be sure to join the fun!

Pretty straightforward card; nothing fancy - coloring with pencils, die cutting and this fun little arrow I have had in my stash hoard for a L-O-N-G time but hey...finally used one! ;)

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great week. Take care!

Hugs,

Viva la Verve Sketch

Hi friends - I was inspired to create using the Week 2 sketch from Viva la Verve (you can see it below) or follow the link. I started with a tag I had on my desk - just a good ole blank tag I had cut at some point and never used. I applied a thin layer of gesso, let it dry, then applied Distress Crayons through a stencil and then used ANOTHER stencil on top of that and applied a thick layer of whipped spackle and Bo Bunny glitter paste - it's soooo sparkly IRL!

I stamped the flowers from Verve's Love's Flower set and colored with Zig Clean Color Brushes using a wink of stella to spread and combine the colors. Not my fave but hey, I made it work! ;)

I added the 'amazing' die and tag line from MFT's Amazing stamp set and matching die - I originally die cut the 'amazing' from the same blue background paper but it just didn't pull all the colors together for me, so I cut it again from some Halloween orange paper - that works! I included a picture of the card with the blue sentiment, which do you like better? I added a drop shadow of the word in black card stock and finished off the card with enamel dots.

Thanks for stopping by; take care!

Hugs,

Sketch w/inspiration from Jodi

Hi friends - welcome back for another sketch challenge at Splitcoaststampers - hope you'll check it out and join us this week, it's an easy and super fun one! (you can see the sketch below also)

I saw THIS card inspired by Jodi and did a CASE (copy and share everything); I used a different stamp set, one of my all-time faves, Doodle Buds by WPlus9. I also saw a video by Sandy Allnock using this same stamp set and decided to try REALLY REALLY hard to be a bit artistic and not such a perfectionist - my cards are far from perfect, but I definitely stress too much over coloring! :(

I cut the whip cream frame using Mama Elephant's Femme Frames and mounted with dimensional foam; so the black piece is recessed lower than the frame (impossible to tell from the photos though). I splattered on some Hero Arts Unicorn ink spray; the images were stamped in Memento Black on Copic paper but colored with Zig Clean Color brushes using no water.

I finished it off with SSS's Birthday Flowers stamp set, some white polka dots with everything layered onto a Royal Velvet card base.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you join the fun this week! Take care!

Pastel Butterflies

I'm up over at A Blog Named Hero sharing Newton's Nook Beautiful Wishes; you can see all the images HERE.
Sorry for the wacko lighting - does my Ott Lite need a new bulb? This ONLY happens when I use it to help lighten the area where I take photos. :(
