Crafts 4 Eternity - Handwriting (is this cheating?)

Hi friends - how are you? Hope your week is off to a great start...mine is off to a very interesting start...and it's already HUMP DAY!!
Smiley from Millan.Net

This week at Crafts 4 Eternity we want to see projects which feature handwriting...well, MY handwriting will never be made into a stamp (HA) but Dawn's was and I love it - so pretty and the perfect addition to this card.

One lucky participant will win 4 free images from Sassy Studio Designs; hope you will join us!

I CASE(d) another card; this one from Lindsay (HERE), isn't her card delightful? I was so drawn to the yellow; I seldom use yellow and I loved her shading...so then commenced my card which is almost identical!

I used MFT's Rose Overlay dies cutting the base flower from PTI Lemon Tart and shading with Spiced Marmalade, Dried Marigold, Lemon Drop and Hero Hues Unicorn. The leaves were cut from New Leaf and sponged with Twisted Citron. I sponged Sno Cone at the bottom of the main panel and stamped the sentiment in Archival black. Love Lindsay's inspiration!

Thanks for stopping by; hope you can join us this week with your 'handwriting' project!

Hugs,

Cupcake Inspirations 328 - Surprise Sweetie

Oh my goodness, aren't the colors for this weeks inspiration at Cupcake Inspirations just divine (see below)? And polka dots? Be still my beating heart! :D AND I'm the Surprise Sweetie, I loved working with this inspiration photo, such great colors!!

I created a jam packed card, channeling Laurie (HERE) for inspiration! The Scribble Roses were covered in two coats of wink of stella; the background is Bo Bunny's Sugar Glitter colored with Twisted Citron - can you see the sparkle?

I added a vellum doily to allow the roses and leaves to stand out a bit more, some soft silver thread and black/white washi tape were the finishing touches. The hello d-lites from Spellbinders was cut 5 times from black card stock, adhered together and coated with glossy accents (it's my interpretation of a worm - ha, it's all curly!!).

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great week!

Thanks - You Are Amazing

Hi friends! Welcome to the WEEKEND!

I studied Alice's blog today and watched a few of her videos on Instagram - I'm like her stalker although I openly admit I stalk her work - HA!

I adore her no line coloring and have tried it several times...so yes, I tried it again. I found a few tricks in the videos that I think helped me add shading and dimension to this sweet little raptor. I also took her trick which she acquired from Laura of camouflage dies (Laura did a video for Papertrey Ink showing this technique).

I love how the die looks with a bit of dimension and the words 'you are amazing' stamped underneath. The image was colored with Copics on watercolor paper - yes, I realize they are not meant to be used on watercolor paper but hey, it works for me. :D I added some clear wink of stella to the hearts, added a few die cut misc. scraps of paper and a big 'ole button to finish it off!

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a GREAT weekend. See you again soon!

Hugs,

For Fancy!

Hi friends!

I have a dear, super sweet friend, that has 3 kiddo's - 2 unique and beautiful young girls and a very handsome son! She in turn has a friend that has adopted a little girl with the nickname FANCY - I love that! She's sooooo cute; her smile will completely light up a room, check out their Facebook page HERE.

My friend wanted a card that represented Fancy - pink or purple and LOTS of sparkle - she's all about the sparkle, so here's my creation.

I thought this sentiment from Verve Visual was just perfect, "I am fearfully ad wonderfully made!".

I added sooooo much Distress Ink - so much, it took my paper forever to dry - HA!! I cut the 3 MFT Scribble Roses from water color paper and used temp adhesive to adhere to the main panel and then sponged on all the color - pink, pink, and more pink - a girl just cannot have enough pink! The leaves - my fave again - are from MFT Layered Leaves and were also sponged with Distress Ink. Once I had all my color added, I spritzed the entire panel with MFT Shimmer Mist then tapped on some Mister Huey's Opaque White

I honestly had to let all this dry overnight - so much ink - LOL!

I then removed all the die cut roses and leaves and moved them slightly to the right and up; I stamped the sentiment in Archival black ink so it would really pop. I added a strip of MFT designer paper and layered it all on MFT Ripe Raspberry.

Thanks for coming by; be sure to stop by and leave Fancy a sweet message; their 'gotcha day' is September 21 - I know they would love to hear from you!

Hugs,

Lotsa Watercolor, Blueprints & Lil' Inkers

I woke up Saturday morning with this idea of a window with flowers - this is that idea... Not sure I achieved exactly what was in my head - HA, but I sure had fun creating!

The stitched pieces are all from Lil' Inkers Dual Stitched Rectangles, the black and white one is using MFT's new Dots and Stripes neutral pack - I LOVE IT! The flowers are from MFT's Blueprints 5, each was water colored with distress inks, I added a center of  Lemon Drop card stock accented with some orange, the leaves were cut from Limelight - I adore those leaves. Once the flowers were completely dry, I used a white gel pen to add more interest.

Behind the flowers is a layer of polka dots using light modeling paste and a stencil - I love the dimension they add IRL!

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great week!

Crafts 4 Eternity + MFTWSC244

Hi friends - happy Friday; ready for the weekend? We are!!

This week at Crafts 4 Eternity, we want to see projects related to children; one lucky participate will win 3 digital images from Michele's shop, C4E! And be sure to stop by the blog and see if you were one of last week's lucky winner!

I used MFT's Wednesday Sketch Challenge to jump start my mojo; you can see the sketch HERE or down below. I used MFT's Pure Innocence Cute-a-tude image, a la modes Time to Celebrate sentiment combined with the balloon from WPlus9's Unforgettable set. I die cute the balloon and added the string by hand tied to her wrist. I did some no line coloring with Copics, added some shimmer to her flower - all little girls need some sparkle, right?! The banner flag is tacked down on either end with a little wave in the middle. I cut the same focal piece tag out of vellum and additional designer paper, added some washi tape and sewing to finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a GREAT weekend. Take care, see you again soon!

Hugs,

Sketch and more Mini Mod Spiral Stencil

Hi friends - happy hump day..which is almost over!! :D

Hope you are having a great week! I loved the sketch at the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge blog (HERE); so I had to play along. We have a coworker having a birthday Friday so I made this for her.

I used this same stencil (mini mod spiral) on the umbrella last week (HERE) and LOVED it, so I knew it would look super cool with some distress inks - I used two, Peacock Feathers and Twisted Citron, and love how it turned out!

I stamped the uber large 'happy birthday' from Mama Elephant's Birthday Wishes set and traced it with a black spica glitter pen - next to impossible to see in the photos, but cool up close. I added some MFT black polka dot designer paper and carried it over to the inside along with one of the small sentiments and both sizes of candles. The candles were stamped in VersaMark for a light accent.

Those fun balloons, from WPlus9's Unforgettable set, are on the envelope; I created a post-it note mask and sponged each with the same distress inks as the card.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great week. See you again soon!
