Unwell Nikki...or Alysssa

Hi friends - how's your week going so far? This week over at the Ladybug Crafts Ink challenge blog, we're celebrating with an inspiration photo - isn't it yummy?

Yeah, I thought so too!

I've had this digi of Unwell Nikki for far too long and haven't used it! By golly, I have a really sick little girl so this one is for her!! She's lost 3 pounds since Friday (as of Monday) because she just cannot eat; here's hoping she feels much better soon!!

I printed the image on Copic Xpress It paper and colored her up using Copics and taking inspiration from the photo, some matting, a tiny bit of designer paper and that's it! Thanks for stopping by; hope you will join the fun - we LOVE seeing your creations!

Hugs,

Crafts 4 Eternity - Happy Halloween

Hello friends - hope you have had a GREAT week! Ours has been...interesting! And not necessarily in a positive manner, but that's okay, the weekend is JUST around the corner! :D

This week at Crafts 4 Eternity we are celebrating with Halloween themed cards - I absolutely adore autumn, pumpkins, scarecrows, corn mazes, etc.! Hope you will join us with your Halloween themed cards and you have the chance to win 3 free digital images from Crafts 4 Eternity! Great images!!

I used a pumpkin from Repeat Impressions; stamped it once in the middle, masked it off and stamped it again on either side. I then colored the image with colored pencils & odorless mineral spirits. I tried channeling the incredible Kathy Racoosin - she does AMAZING things with her white gel pen. Me? Eh, not so much; it is NEVER EVER as smooth as hers...or as cool looking! :( In fact, it was just ugly, so I pulled out the white dimensional enamel to finish out the dots...

Inside
I traced around the Verve Visual die I used for the main panel and hand cut the same shape from PTI's Terracotta Tile; sponged on some Rusty Hinge Distress Ink, added a couple flags and mounted everything with dimensionals. The layout is Deconstructed Sketch #123 (DS123). Some fun Halloween paper from MME and some self-made enamel dots finish it off.

TFL; have a great weekend!!

Hugs,

Ginger...in blue

Captured the clear Wink of Stella Pen
I'm back with a mid-week reminder for Ladybug Crafts Ink using Ginger (from the new group of chicks called "Skinny Malinky's); this time in beautiful blues and chocolate! Yeah, its brown but doesn't it just 'sound' better when you say chocolate? :D

Last week I used Ginger HERE in pink!

There are lots of new Skinny Malinky's being released today; you can see them HERE - aren't they just delightful?

I used the color combo from Just Us Girls (JUGS211), I added a couple flags, a scalloped flap at the very top, then I scrunched some seam binding from Verve Visual over the scallops. Couldn't stop there, I decided to added 3 feathers - 2 in blue, 1 in white - swoon, perfect for a flapper girl right? Thanks for popping in!!

Wags 'n Whiskers - Paper Piecing

If you are looking for my Crafts 4 Eternity post, please scroll down or click HERE.

Oh yes - I LOVE TO PAPER PIECE; so I was in heaven with this challenge at Wags 'n Whiskers!! And isn't this image just adorable? It's Ellie and Squeak - I'm in love (please note, this is the ONLY time I will ever love a mouse) . LOL

I paper pieced every single piece of the image! :D Ellie and Squeak are in the same polka dot paper, then I paper pieced the gift 2 more times - the verbiage 'wrapping paper' and then the ribbon is an additional layer. I colored the ribbon with a clear Wink of Stella pen and also added glossy accents for more fun dimension. I also paper pieced Ellie's party hat which also received some clear Wink of Stella accents - love all the sparkle and shimmer...oh, and did you notice Ellie's gorgeous toenails and tail? Yes, they have black Wink of Stella on them too - HA!

I doodled around the edge of the image, added some fun heart ribbon and a 4-looped bow then tied on a little heart charm from PTI's Tiny Tags set. Super fun - quick and simple too. I hope you'll join along in our paper piecing challenge! Have a great weekend and thanks for popping in - I so love when you visit!

Crafts 4 Eternity - Autumn Leaves

Hi friends!

This week's recipe challenge over at Crafts 4 Eternity is "Autumn Leaves" - just create anything with leaves and you have the chance to win 3 free digital images from Crafts 4 Eternity!

For my creation, I went with some warm autumn colors, some vellum leaves which I dry embossed with a stencil. The overall layout comes from Mojo Monday #315 - just tweaked a few things here and there. :D

Floral stamps are from Verve's Brighter Days set with matching die (fits the medium and small flowers); I then stamped the actual flower in MFT Hot Fudge and added some chocolate pearls to the center. The pennant trim across the bottom is also from Verve - I really like it on top of my panel rather than below.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great weekend!

There's some new girls in town!!

So...have you anxiously been awaiting this new release from Ladybug Crafts Ink? These girls are smokin' hot, I'm tellin' ya!

So, there are a total of 12 Skinny Malinkys; today we are releasing 6 and next week, we will be releasing the other 6! Please hop along and collect the letters from each blog, put them together to spell a special word(s), e-mail your answer to lcichallengeblog@aol.com and YOU could win all 12 images! WOW!!

For my card, I am using Ginger - isn't she adorable? Can't you see her dress done in fringe, or scallops, or sequins? Yeah, lots of variety available with this sweet girl. My layout is The Sweet Stop (SSS232); but I had to add a few ruffles to the card - cuz they are cute! AND since the images are called "Skinny Malinkys", I thought it would be fun to make a skinny card: 3.75" X 5.5".

Sparkle and ribbon treatment

Straight up coloring with Copics, nothing too fancy but I did add a bit of shimmer to Ginger's dress with a Wink of Stella clear pen. Thanks for joining us; hope you love all the new images as much as we do! Take care!

Don't forget to grab my letter...you can find it!!

Crafts 4 Eternity - CAS Style

Greetings friends - how are you? Anyone out there preparing for Halloween? Do you have kids to dress up? If so, tell me what their costumes are! We are past the point of trick or treating but both our girls are in high school and love to dress up for their Halloween dance - always a fun time!

Yeah, I know - my card has NOTHING to do with Halloween, it was just on my mind. LOL

This week at Crafts 4 Eternity we are celebrating with Clean and Simple cards (CAS) and we are sponsored by Sassy Studio Designs; play along, you have the chance to win 4 images!

I recently received an all Kraft card and I LOVED it so much that I decided to go super simple using only Kraft with a touch of Dark Chocolate and some Wink of Stella for some fun sparkle! I debossed the top and bottom of the Kraft card stock, then stamped MFT's Miss You a Latte image in MFT Hot Fudge and colored with water color pencils.

I added the sentiment in PTI Raspberry Fizz and then 2 small strips of Dark Chocolate which I then coated with clear Wink of Stella, all mounted on a Kraft A2 card using dimensionals. LOVE THE SHIMMER! Super CAS.

Can you see the sparkle? PURDY!!
Thanks for popping in; hope to see you again soon!

SURPRISE!!

If you are looking for my Crafts 4 Eternity post, please scroll down or click HERE!

I feel so blessed today as I'm one of the newest members over at Wags 'n Whiskers - you'll be seeing me around the blogosphere touting some super cute Wags 'n Whiskers images through February 2014!! GULP - 2014, how did we get so close to next year? Thank goodness I do NOT age along with the calendar! LOL

Stop by the challenge blog and check out all the new designers and give them a nice warm welcome - we all love love! :D And then take a few minutes to play along with our challenge - PINK - Breast Cancer Awareness. October is the month for Breast Cancer Awareness and girls, if you haven't, please take  time to get your girls smooshed...that's a word right - it may save your life!

I wanted to use an image to brighten someone's day - not just focus on the battle they may be fighting, but just a cheery, happy card. So I used Buddy's Balloons and incorporated lots of pink! The inside says "You Make Me Smile", perfect for Splitcoaststampers Challenge "Hope You Have a Great Day" which is part of their Hope You Can Cling To Challenge Forum for MD Anderson.

Layout is Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #194 (SSSC194); I thought Buddy was getting lost amongst all the pink, stripes, dots, etc. so I tried the Bokeh technique...um yeah...not sure I like how it turned out! :( The image is cut with just a portion of the balloon outside the nestie, then I colored a 2nd balloon, cut it out and mounted with dimensionals. I added glossy accents to the balloon and to Buddy's nose, I also added some white gel dots to the party hat.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you'll take time to join us in celebrating PINK - Breast Cancer Awareness!

Color Recipe - Cinnamon

Good morning friends!

This week at Crafts 4 Eternity, we are celebrating with a Color/Colour Recipe - Cinnamon; YUMMY!!! Aren't these colors divine?
Go ahead, play along as you have a chance to win 3 free digital images from Crafts 4 Eternity!

Yeah - I love ANY color with chocolate but I tend not to use much in the orange realm. Hmph, you would never know that by this card eh? Sympathy cards are always needed, so I used a really old SU! floral set and the grid technique which Just Us Girls featured a few weeks ago. I stamped the image with Rusty Hinge then stamped again offset slightly using Spiced Marmalade. Then I added lots of distress ink in Wild Honey and Spiced Marmalade. I also edged the designer paper in Wild Honey and did a bit of sewing. Created two flags with designer paper, a flower from an old paperback book and centered 3 chocolate pearls within the flower. Layout is Jen's Deconstructed Sketch #120 (DS120).

Thanks for stopping by; hope you will join along in our Color/Colour Recipe - it's a good one!! Have a great weekend.

Stitching or Paper Piercing - you choose

Hi friends - how are you? I am good; had a super busy weekend, since Thursday night our middle daughter has played 20 sets of volleyball - 13 of those on Saturday! :D FUN TIMES!!

Glad you stopped by, the girls over at Ladybug Crafts Ink are joining forces this week making cards featuring 'stitching' or 'paper piercing' - you choose and join along! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to stitch on my cards...however, there isn't much on this one huh? :-/

I love this silly snowman decorating the tree - seriously, isn't he just adorable? Kerry has released several new silly snowmen images - check them out HERE!

I made a super simple square card and 'tried' to use the Less is More sketch challenge.  Yeah, I have some white space but probably a few too many layers and embellies - LOL!! Still a fun jumping off point! I added lots of glitter and some rock candy for the snow.

See that polka dot flag? I made it using washi tape!! LOVE! I carried that same washi tape over on the inside and onto the envelope; just a perfect addition to a simple Christmas card.

Thanks for stopping by - hope you have a great week!
