Hello? Hello? Is anyone there?

It was a nice relaxing weekend - I'm learning to enjoy them a bit more! :D I'm reading a great book; hanging with the girls while the boys are in Minnesota, the chance to create when I wanted with no deadlines. Ah....felt so good!

I found this sketch at Frosted Designs - looks like their last sketch but maybe some new and fun things up their sleeves?

Regardless, it was just the boost I needed to pull out my Heart to Heart mini stamp set from Papertreyink and have some fun.

The DP is from various MME pads (3 different pads); I sponged the layers with Wheat VersaMagic ink. I used PTI's telephone die cut from Kraft, also stamped in Kraft with PTI Hawaiian shores for the center. Added some DP and more Kraft on the inside - in fact, I think I used every single sentiment from the Heart to Heart mini stamp set - LOL; that would be a first for me!

I love the phone cord - isn't that cute? It was created with twine/floss which didn't hold for ANYTHING, so I had to get a bit creative - but it worked and I love it!

The handset doesn't have black ink on it, just part of the Kraft card stock variation...just fell in a bad spot. LOL

Super fun stamp set; can't wait to try a few more things with it.

TFL; have a great week!

Hugs,

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - To Die For

What if?

Happy Sunday peeps!

I'm a bit late with my Cupcake Inspiration post but hey, better late than never right? My inspiration from this scrumptious photo? The chocolate and pink - but you probably could have guessed that before you even saw my card huh? I love ANY COLOR and chocolate! :D

Inside of Card

And this week we are sponsored by Fresh Brewed Designs - LOVE their digis; they are fantastic, be sure to check them out!

I have had this sentiment for...um...well...maybe a few months and this is the first time I have used it...but I love it! It says so much! It's from Tim Holtz's Stampers Anonymous collection. Lots of pink and brown colors and lots of stitching!

Layout is from My Favorite Things (MFTWSC81); I used a swirl-type image from Blue Skies of Verve Visual and stamped all over the musical paper with VersaMagic Pixie Dust - almost impossible to see, but it's there and adds a neat look to the paper!

I also stamped the flowers from Kind Words also by Verve Visual onto the sentiment with PTI Sweet Blush and then edged the sentiment with VersaMagic Jumbo Java. Added a Sweet Blush button tied with Chocolate Baker's Twine and some scrumptious Sweet blush twill ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by...now if you'll indulge me for a minute...

Happy Birthday in a Glassine Bag

Card
Did you see the fab tutorial over at the CLASSroom by Julie Ebersole - glassine bags are all the rage right now and for once in my life, I'm on the cutting edge (I'm typically 6-12 months behind and then it's no longer the rage - HA)!!

Alyssa returned from Germany last night - oh what a blessing to have her home; she has talked 90 to nothing since arriving home. She saw a celebrity in London and she's just ga-ga over it - he called her "love" and took a picture with her - hopefully I'll be able to share it soon.

Anyway, today was her first day back in the US, talking to all her friends, getting caught up on life - I mean the chick was gone for 11 days! :D

She's attending a very close friend's birthday tomorrow (and just asked today - oy!) so I wanted to make a fun, cute card she could tuck into the gift so I set to work - after running to buy  the b-day gift. Ahh...teenagers! :D

Card and Bag
I stamped the glassine bag with Palette Hybrid New Canvas ink (front and back) and zapped it with the heat gun - can you see the design? Very pretty IRL - the stamp is from Papertreyink's anniversary set (Round and Round) from 2009.

Bag without the card inside
The card doesn't open - more of a post card type card; layers of PTI Hawaiian Shores, True Black and Hibiscus Burst. Then I die cut numerous flowers from zebra printed tissue paper using PTI's Beautiful Blooms II die; I layered those altogether, tied off with a cute little flower button. Then I scrunched up the flower and inked all the edges with Hawaiian Shores. The Hibiscus Burst layer was stamped with polka dots in the same color and then edged with PTI's Fresh Snow Ink. The "Birthday Wishes" was stamped with Hawaiian Shores ink.
Complete project with card inside
Alyssa will write on the back of the card, tuck it into the glassine envelope, seal and we're good to go! One of the gifts we bought her friend was a disposable underwater camera - hence the front of the bag has the camera and two stickers - "cutie" and "love this".

Hope she likes it; it was made with lots of love!

... by the way, I love when you visit! ...

Hugs,

Still...Christmastime in July!

Two weeks ago, Queen Whiplash released her newest Christmas images and I am IN LOVE with all of them - how in love? I bought them all!  :D  HA!

Here's the link to my first card: HERE! You can also see a few other creations using these fantastic images HERE!

I colored this image Friday night and applied glossy accents to ALL those beautiful pink decorations on the wreath - whew, my hand was tired of squeezing the bottle...and I was even able to WALK AWAY and let it dry (seldom do I have the patience...or the time)!

I decided to mount the image on the inside of the card on some Hibiscus card stock and use a nestie for the front layer of the card, then I also embossed it with a Cuttlebug tiny dots folder.

I wanted to keep it pretty CAS, nothing too fancy. I used 3 colors of pink floss to continue the color theme.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to visit Ladybug Crafts Ink to see all the A-MAZING new images!

Hey dude

I just love the challenge over at CR84FN - first time I've found this blog but boy am I glad I did!! Red/Yellow and a neutral - I was dying to create a card - but of course, my mind was on all girly stuff but then a friend requested a b-day card for her nephew who turns 5 in a few weeks. Well...why not make those colors work right? :D

Fastest card made in my crafting career - LOL. DP is from Bo Bunny; found some red - found some yellow and went to work. I covered the red polka dot paper with Antique Linen distress ink - yeah, boys get dirty and the white was just "too clean" - HA!

The cute little dinosaur was stamped on the white card stock then stamped 2 more times - once on the yellow DP and once onto Kraft card stock - I cut the entire image out of the yellow and then cut off just the "horns" from the Kraft and adhered with a glue pen. I roughed up all the edges - inside as well as outside. Stamped the "hey dude" on a Lil Inkers flag and added a jute twine stitch.

Card and Matching Envelope

I wanted to spruce up the envelope a bit to tie it altogether so I stamped the little dinosaur in Tuxedo Memento Black, PTI Pure Poppy and Summer Sunrise. Quick and simple - hope the little guy likes it!

Thanks for popping in - see you again real soon!

... you're a cuteasaurus ...

CIC 169 - My Favorite Things

Good morning friends, how are you?

I had TWO opportunities to create Saturday - talk about one happy momma!! One card I can share today; the other I will share Tuesday, BUT here's a little sneaky peek!

This week at Cupcakes Inspirations we are sponsored by My Favorite Things - one of my absolute favorite stamp companies! Here's our inspiration photo:

CIC169 July 15

So I figured if we were sponsored by MFT, I'd just go all out - use one of their stamp sets - Time to Celebrate - as well as their sketch (MFTWSC80). Cute layout; give it a whirl if you have time.

Papers are Madison Park by My Mind's Eye (MME); gosh I love how easy their papers make creating! I stamped the image on GKD 80 lb. cream card stock and colored with Copics; I added Cotton Candy Stickles for the frosting - looks dee-lish, don't you think? Two scallops along the bottom using PTI's border die - one in Sweet Blush, the other Dark Chocolate, and the last little bit of pink lace ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you'll join our Cupcake Inspiration challenge - SO MANY good things about those cupcakes - seriously! :D

... let's celebrate ...

Hugs, ~M.

Here's a little sneak peek of an upcoming card - more AMAZING Christmas images from Ladybug Crafts Ink - stop back by on Tuesday for the full card and all the details!

And yeah - who said Christmas images have to be red/green?  :D

Have a GREAT weekend!!

Hello Cupcake

I'm back...with another birthday card for ME! Yeah, I'm probably the only adult that LOVES my birthday...although this year is a bit different, not sure why. Maybe just too much stress in my life right now.

That's okay - this too shall pass and I'm certain you aren't here to hear about my stress!

:D

I was able to create for the sheer pleasure of creating this past weekend! Yeah - that's always fun. I used Jen's July Sketch For You to Try and MFT's Pure Innocence Hello Cupcake. She's pretty cute! I paper-pieced her dress, added a little flag at the bottom, scrunched some ribbon - AND this time I applied the Glossy Accents (heart in her hair and to the cherry) before I took pictures! Yeah me!! You might be able to see it in the close-up picture?

I also drew in some socks for her to wear - not that you can see them very well! And really, IRL, the ribbon matches much better than these pictures!

Thanks for popping in; hope you have a great week!

Hugs, ~M.

Summertime

It's Sunday - you know what THAT means? Another fabby inspiration picture from Cupcake Inspirations!

And here's our delightful cake this week - isn't it stunning? No...I didn't staying stung...or stinging...HA HA HA! And this week we are sponsored by Stamp Fairy - be sure to check out all their amazing images!

I don't have any "bee" related stamps so I used the color yellow and thought summer all the way!

CIC168 July 8

I used this cute little ice cream cone image and made it yellow - is it lemon, or a sherbert - well, it's digital so you can make it ANY flavor you want AND it's calorie free - SAH-WEET!

My card is little - 3.5" x 3.5" but just perfect for my little conie friend. And look at all that dimension - I printed the image 3 times, cut out the entire piece for the base and colored just the cone; then I colored and cut out the ice cream and toppings; and the third time just the strawberry and topping. AND...guess what I added AFTER I took pictures? LOL...do you know?

GLOSSY ACCENTS just to the strawberry. HA - this is becoming a perpetual thing for me...probably b/c I'm forever running late and then think later - oh that would add great dimension. HA!

Hope you'll join this week; we love seeing your creations!

Life is short...

Close up of microbeads - BEFORE I added white gel dots
eat the icing first!

Great tip - try it next time! :D

Another amazing cupcake image from Nina of Paper Cupcakes - these are just too fun to color; and this time I added some clear microbeads to the frosting - delightful!! Pop over and look at the 'United We Stand' cupcake - how stinking cute is that?

I used Karen's layout - Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #162; another fab layout. My card is little - 4.25" x 4.25" but I got all the elements in there and rather than flowers, I added some gorgeous lush gems.

Close up
The inside uses a sentiment from My Favorite Things - hence the title of the post - "Life is short, eat the icing first"!

:D

Thanks for popping in - have a great day!

... my birfday is coming soon, I'll save this card for me - HA! ...

Blog Hop - Christmas Delight

See the embossing on the edge?
Oh Lordy - I'm pretty stinking sure these will be some of my most favoritist (new word!!) Christmas images - EVAH!!

The TLT Ladybugs are hopping today - so let the fun begin! Our challenge for the whole month of July is, "Christmas in July"! Seriously - a whole month to join the fun...and spend some cash, cuz I promise you're going to want these images!

The grand prize will be all 6 new Christmas Delight images; and 5 prices in which you get 2 of the new images - SQUEAL!!

For this hop; you will want to visit each designer's blog, collect the appropriate letter, spell the word(s) ("might" be Christmas related) and e-mail your answer to lcichallengeblog@aol.com.

Hopefully you've arrived at my blog from Julie's - if not, be sure to start at the beginning HERE.

I kept my card super CAS but I am soooo in love with this image! LOL - pretty darn adorable eh?

I went white on white with a pop of red! The outer edges of the base card were embossed with my Scor-Pal; the main white panel is up on foam dimensionals and was embossed with polka dots. The image was colored with Copics, mounted on a pop of Pure Poppy red and also mounted with dimensionals. <3

HA - growing beautiful shoes!!
Thanks for stopping by, next up is Tams! Hope you enjoy the hop!
