Don't sweat...

Seriously - please tell me that sentiment makes you laugh? Another fractured funny from Hambo Stamps - love 'em!!

I used the layout from Papertake Weekly - what a great sketch! DP from MME...of course; scalloped die from Papertreyink and a 3 looped bow from some ribbon I have had forever - yeah, close to forever!

I sponged the main panel with VersaMagic Sea Breeze and Aegean Blue. I wanted a frame just slightly larger than the main panel, so I traced around the outside of the nestie and cut the frame out by hand.

Simple card but that sentiment makes me giggle. Hope it gives you a giggle too!

Oh Crap!

HA - that title fits this post in so many ways! I have been trying to post this card since Friday - typically computers and I are best buds...but not lately; my laptop seems to be very, very unhappy with me! Glad she's playing a bit nicer today and hopefully she's done with her little tantrum. bwwwaaaahahahahaha

AND I hope all of you had a great Christmas filled with joy, fun, lots of laughter, good food and prezzies!! We had a great Christmas!

Now on to my card of "Oh Crap" - another hilarious image and sentiment from Hambo Stamps! the sentiment is on one piece of rubber; however, I stamped it once and used SU!'s word window punch to create the two pieces. Ya gotta admit, pretty darn funny!

Hope you haven't missed anyone's special occasion; but if so, this card is the perfect fit! :D

Meanwhile, the kids and I are off for a bit of fun today - Sherlock Holmes; CANNOT WAIT!! Hope your day is extra special!!

Birthday Notebooks

Hello friends, how are you?

Ready for Christmas? We're not - we still have gifts to buy AND we haven't wrapped a single gift! Eeeks...it's coming whether I am ready or not!

Our youngest daughter recently attended a birthday dance for 2 friends that turned 13 - TEENAGERS.  :D

I knew I wanted to make a little notebook for each of the girls - Kaitlyn (our daughter) loves to write, draw, doodle, etc. so I was hoping they might like to also. The notebooks are straightforward and very simple! I used modge podge to adhere the paper and as the final coat. Their names are vertical next to the black binding; I added a few rub ons and then finished them off with glimmer mist. One has chocolate - easy to see  the other one has pink bubblegum glimmer mist but it's impossible to see in the picture. I LOVE the sheen glimmer mist gives to anything and everything! I have another upcoming project in which I sprayed the entire card with 2 colors of glimmer mist - purdy!! I sanded the edges to give them a bit of a worn look, tied on some ribbon. I was told the girls loved them!

I also purchased some little birthday stuffers for them which came with a free basket - I chose the cute little penguin for both of them. The little basket is filled with scented body lotion, bath confetti, bubble bath and a sponge - delightfully color-coordinated!

Memories

Saturday was the Snowball Dance for the high school; Alyssa is a sophomore this year and was anxious to go again.

We found her a cute little dress and then had a dear friend do her hair (this same friend has been doing her hair for special events for the last 3 years - and nope, she's not even a hairstylist, but she does great work)!! I did her makeup.

And yes, we ALWAYS take these photos in the bathroom - LMBO!!

Here are some of the photos from the evening:
Taken with my phone, not the best quality...but my fave!!

Hair by our sweet friend; a loose french braid with lots of curl and volume, sweeping around her left shoulder.

Silly girls!

Checking to see who is taller; the younger one (Kaitlyn) wins.

Trying to be silly, but Alyssa looks great; Kaitlyn looks wigged out her sister is THIS close! Notice the height difference (brows); Alyssa is definitely a smidge shorter.

Hope your holidays are filled with lots of laughter and memories to last a lifetime!

Hugs,

Our inspiration cake for this week:

WOW - is this cake not just TOO PRETTY to ever eat? I'd just leave it as a decoration! Wish I had a poinsettia stamp; but I do not, therefore I took a whee different route. Surprising eh? NOT!  HA HA

A super simple card which I used a border punch along the bottom - hard to see but there are 2 dry embossed lines directly above the border punch.

The flowers are from PTI's Beautiful Blooms II stamp set and matching dies; I stamped them on to some MME paper which is filled with musical notes. I also stamps the leaves onto the same paper with VersaMagic ink, I created a embossed line down the center of the leaves to allow me to curl them up a bit - pretty IRL, almost impossible to see in the photos. HA!

All the edges have been sponged, some with PTI's Vintage Cream, others with VersaMagic Jumbo Java. How cool that I had a large musical brad to fit right in the center of the flower - ahhh...love that!

Be sure to gather some inspiration from the above photo and since the challenge is open till January 7th; there's NO REASON you can't find a few minutes to play along!

... happy holidays to you and yours ...

Hugs,

Having a birthday?

If so, this is probably the type of card you would receive from me...bwaaa ha ha ha ha!!!

I love this sentiment from Hambo Stamps and this layout from My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club was just perfect for focusing on a sentiment. I didn't have the same die cuts as the layout; but that's okay, a sketch is just a great jumping off point and besides that piece, everything else I followed just as it was.

Hmph to those TLT ladies that think I'm a rebel!?!

I love these papers - once again from MME; just perfect for any celebration - bright, cheerful and seriously, who does not love polka dots and cupcakes!!

I used a straight stitch on the main panel, then a zig zag stitch on the green polka dot panel. The cupcake panel was edged with VersaMagic Sahara Sand to help it pop off the card a bit.

Great layout - take a momemt to play along and as always, don't forget to check out the amazing sentiments and images at Hambo Stamps!

TLT Bingo Style

Hey friends, how ya doin'? We're good, really good. Extremely busy, but good - no complaints!
The TLT gang is back this week and we're playing bingo; I had never played bingo before when creating a card so this was something new for me - I hit a lot of the blocks, but not sure I really have a bingo - HA! Always the rebel of the group!
Free Smiley Courtesy of www.millan.net

Let's see, I have ribbon, embossing (can we pretend the flock is felt - then I SCORE, spots, punches/die cuts) - not too bad but no true bingo unless we bend the rules slightly!!

I had so much fun making this card; it was made for a friend hosting a baby shower in which the theme was pumpkins with coral/chocolate as the colors. Ah - love about anything with chocolate ya know!

This sweet little baby was colored with Copics, flocking was added to the top of her blanket, some embossing, layering, twill ribbon which I stamped on and then I tried to make the inside as pretty as the outside.

Hope you'll join our bingo challenge this week; we so enjoy seeing your creations! And don't forget to hop over to the Challenge Blog to see if you were a winner from last week AND if you'd like, you can leave our Head Ladycow late birfday wishes.

CIC140 - Prarie Fairy

It's time for another Cupcake Inspiration Challenge; we are sponsored this week by:

Super cute images; be sure to stop by and check them out; it'll be worth the journey!!

Our inspiration cupcakes for this week:

I LOVE the snowman in this picture - LOVE and I thought the 2 snowmen in "Snow Wonderful" from Verve Visual were so similar I decided to use one of them - if I had used the one with the Santa hat, it would have been even a closer match; but I wanted to use the little guy with the super cute hat. :D  GREAT stamp set!

As much as I loved the snowman, I loved the colors I used in my card yesterday; so yep - I went right back there again! HA!

I stamped the snowman onto the tag created with Verve's Tagged Rectangle Die; what you can't see is that I stamped the snowflakes from Snow Wonderful on the base of the tag with VersaMagic Wheat - love the touch it added IRL. The button at the top is a clear button, I tied on some twine, then backed it with the same striped paper from MME. The "U" is from Verve's I Heart U die set; the smaller tag was created with Papertreyink's Tiny Tags Die and I used just the words "for you" from Verve's Just for You stamp set, letting the large U work for the last piece.

The scalloped border is from Papertreyink and is edged with VersaMagic Wheat and I added some chocolate pearls. The pearls on the small "for you" tag were originally white, I used my Copics to color them burgundy.

The layout is this week's Sweet Stop #138 - FABULOUS layout with endless possibilities!

I think that's about it - thanks for stopping by; hope you'll join the Cupcake Inspiration this week!!

Hugs,

Snowman Sled - SC362

HELLO! Long time no talk/write, eh?

What a CRAZY week - I feel like a record set to repeat as I seem to say that every week, but it's really just crazy right now - work, kid's school, kid's activities, etc.

I did get a chance to stamp this week - one time - yep; that's the ONLY chance I got to escape. LOL I have used this image before - Snowman Sled from Hambo Stamps; love him, but this time I went for a totally different look - chocolate and burgundy; delightful I think!

The layout is the weekly sketch challenge at Splitcoaststampers; at first I thought "oh no, not sure I like this one"; but once I looked at papers I knew it would be easy to complete. MME papers make it so easy for me!

His little hat has a strip of 3D black ink, looks cool IRL; nothing fancy, just coloring and layering with lots of chocolate and burgundy; love the depth of the colors!

Thanks for popping in; I love when you stop by to visit!

... sledding cuz I can't keep up - HA! ...

TLT - Stamp of the Month

We're back with another Stamp of the Month - this one being Tom and Snowman - CA-UTE I'm telling you!

My card is simple and sweet...because life is kicking my patootie up one side and smack down the other - maybe things will calm down a bit after the first of the year? I sure hope so!

I used the layout from the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge; another good one - I followed it exactly I think!  W@@T, W@@T - pretty darn good for this known rebel!

I'm so glad you popped in, be sure to check out the TLT Challenge Blog to see the amazing creations this week, then join the fun and show us YOUR snowflakes and sparkle!

... got snow? ...
