Crafts 4 Eternity - Weather

Hi friends - happy Friday!! Sorry I'm a bit late posting this...anyone ever 'struggle' with creating? Man, talk about frustrating - I have two projects on my desk and BOTH have me super frustrated...this is one of them. HA! More on that in a moment...

This week at Crafts 4 Eternity, we want to see your project with a theme or element related to weather! One lucky participant will win a $12 voucher to Di's Digi Designs. Also, be sure to stop by the blog to see if you were a winner from last week!

OK, so on to my little project...my tag is completely CASE(d) from Kay Miller; her work rocks! But let me tell you - I think I watercolored 4 umbrellas - seriously...you should peek in my trash can.

Smiley from Millan.Net

UGH...learned a lot but that was rather painful! Just like Kay, I kept it super simple and layered the colorful tag on a white top folding card with some embossed score lines towards the bottom. A truly CAS card that was anything but easy - HA HA!!

The umbrella was die cut twice and layered with some craft foam. I LOVE those white lines, I used The Crafters Workshop Mini Mod Spirals stencil and traced some of the lines with a white gel pen. Super simple but gives it such a cool look IMHO.

You can see the embossed lines from this angle. :D

Love that funky design using the Mini Mod Spirals stencil

Thanks for popping in; hope you have a GREAT weekend!

Hugs,

Viva la Verve Sketch

I love using sketches and the Viva la Verve sketches are some of my absolute favorites! I'm continuing with my goal to use up my designer paper - goodness, I have lots. :D

Nothing fancy here, a tiny bit of stamping, some distressing, some dry embossing, some twine, and some added doodling to the scalloped circle and that's it! Oh that butterfly? Isn't it gorgeous? It comes white with the lines already there...I just colored it up with a couple Copics. I finished the card off with some sequins and a drop of glossy accents inside each sequin.

Thanks for popping by; hope you are having a great week!

Crafts 4 Eternity - Summer Theme

Hi there - happy Friday! Welcome back to another challenge at Crafts 4 Eternity! This week we want to see projects with a summer theme; one lucky participant will win 2 images from Stamping Boutique.

Summer always makes me think of flowers and gardening; we had some beautiful pink and yellow flowers in our flower bed this summer...uh no, I don't know what kind; half our flowers were planted by our neighbor. HA - true story!

I made these watercolor cards quite some time ago inspired by Jennifer McGuire and the pink ones remind me somewhat of those in our flower bed. I created the background by smooshing some distress colors from my craft sheet onto the watercolor paper and then spraying with additional water - such a fun technique, then colored the flowers with distress markers. I added some shading/veins to the center of the flowers, also with a distress marker. I will say the paper warped quite a bit; I did buy some different paper to try so we'll see how it goes next time. I really like the look of masking off the edges allowing the watercolor flowers to shine through.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you take some time to join the fun!

Hugs,

MOJO410 & Pop Up Challenge

Hi friends - hope you are enjoying your weekend. I've found time time here and there to craft and wanted to try the MOJO410 sketch (link below) as well as participate in Kathy's pop up challenge - all about lines.

I let the gorgeous designer paper from MME do all the work; added some vellum, lots of gold card stock and one of those fabulous 'hello' dies from MFT. I cut 3 layers out of black card stock and one out of gold, layered it all together for some slight/fun dimension. The flowers are from MFT's blueprints #5, I added some sponging to the edges and black enamel dot to the center.

Crafts 4 Eternity - Arrows

Happy, happy Friday friends - hope you are ready for the weekend, it's almost here!

This week at Crafts 4 Eternity, we want to see projects with arrows - at least one arrow! One random participant will win 4 images from Sassy Studio Designs, so take some time and join the fun!

I chose to play with Phrase Play #3 from Papertreyink, I love this die cut, so many options! I used distress markers to watercolor a piece of Tim Holtz watercolor paper then die cut the entire piece; I then die cut the hello, arrow and main rectangle panel from black card stock 3 times to stack it up for some fun dimension. I stamped the sentiment "I miss you" on the rectangle panel, then added 2 coats of clear Wink of Stella to each piece and a layer of glossy accents to the word 'hello' and the arrow.

The layout stemmed from Alice's card which you can see HERE. Lots of layering, some flowers from MFT's blueprints #5, an enamel dot, some twine and washi tape finish it off!

Thanks for stopping by - hope you have a GREAT weekend!

Viva la Verve July 2015

I am in love with the week 5 sketch from Viva la Verve! I have had these fun papers from Echo Park for ages, I love the pink, black, gray - such a great paper pad, I'll be sad when it's all gone. I quickly cut several strips of paper, cut them in triangles and set to work layering.

I already had the Raspberry Fizz circle from Lawn Fawn's Stitched Party Banners in my stash; I quickly stamped the 4 YOU from MFT's DC Greetings, then used MFT's stitched circle dies to cut the Smoky Shadow piece. I went a little crazy with the Star Dust stickles - oops - and this was even after I brushed some off - HA! I added some fun Verve clear sequins to finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great week!! Take care!
