Young Crafters Unite BLOG HOP!

Oh what a fun and incredible blog hop this is going to be!

Hopefully you have arrived at my blog from the multi-talented PAULINA; if not, be sure to start at the very beginning - Young Crafters Unite!  And you know what happens with blog hops right? Yep; leave a comment along the way for your chance to win prizes and I do mean prizes.  We have prizes from Simon Says Stamp, Paper Smooches and Lawn Fawn - yippee!!

I created one of my fave projects - an altered Jr. Legal Pad - man, I LOVE THESE THINGS!  Since we have 2 young ladies in our household; I love creating things for young girls - it's what keeps me young!  :D

Inside of notebook; mini mermaid  :D
This one is for a young lady who has a birthday in July - just 2 days after mine!  She loves mermaids and notebooks so I "think" she might like this.  I've made many varieties of these notebooks which you can see HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE!  I have lots of 3D items on my blog...in reviewing that category I found A LOT of altered notebooks.  tee hee

OK, on to today's creation:

Cute little mermaid sitting on some mussel shells; her tail is 2 shades of blue and 1 green, I LOVE it IRL and her hair is covered in sparkles although very difficult to see in the pictures!

This is a digital mermaid so I made a smaller version for the inside of the notebook; and on the left inside, there is a little pocket which you can store things - comes in so handy!

Pocket on the inside left
OK, next up is the uber-talented KATHY!  Enjoy the journey and thanks for hopping by!

Repeat Impressions - What If? Wednesday

Hello friends; happy Hump Day!

The Rock Stars are back with another What If? Wednesday over at The House That Stamps Built; Wendy offered up another great sketch this week and there is a $25 gift certificate up for grabs, so be sure to play along!

I went for a CAS card (Clean and Simple) using a sentiment to let someone know how much they mean to me!

Some Basic Grey DP; some nesties, some white pearls which I colored with my Copics, some dee-lish crinkle ribbon, a heart cut from a vintage tag stamped with a beautiful floral image, a button and some twine - ahhhh, sah-weet! I like it, what do you think?  Look closely at that heart tag; that's a floral image stamped 2nd generation onto the tag - thought it turned out pretty cool!

...thank YOU for being my friend...

Hugs, ~M.

Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #117 - Glitterbabe

It's time for another amazing Cupcake Inspiration challenge!

This week we are sponsored by Glitterbabe; a fabulous place to grab some digi images!  And just for playing along this week, you have the chance to win 2 digis of YOUR CHOICE.  Won't you join us?

AND the amazing Cupcake Inspiration picture - yum, yum - so glad they are calorie free!  And stinking cute huh, just in time for the 4th of July!

I had a great time using the birthday wish flower; all 3 flowers say "a birthday wish"; but as you can see I made 2 of the flowers smaller and covered the words with a PTI Pure Poppy button and baker's twine - SWEET!  I went all red, white and blue for my card even making the floral stems blue...hey, it works right? LOL

I colored the 3 flowers with Copics (R14, R27 & R29) and the center of the largest flower with various yellows (Y13, Y15, Y34); the center flower kinda looks goofy from afar but that's b/c I added glossy accents and glitter on top - every girl needs a little sparkle right?

Go ahead; take some inspiration from those delightful cupcakes and join in all the fun!

Birthday Backpack

 Hi friends!

Creating just for fun – my FAVORITE kind of creating!

I had a friend request a b-day card for her niece; her niece loves pink and lime green or blue and lime green – hence I found some striped paper that incorporated all those colors!  :D  I’m making her aunt look smart eh?  That’s my job!

The layout is last week’s Mojo Monday #195.  The fun backpack and sneakers image is from Ladybug Crafts Ink colored with Copics; I added a clear spica glitter pen to each of the hearts – very sparkly IRL.

I added lots of distressing and some fun pink brads in the corner.  I also added the little banner which says happy birthday and sponged the edges with VersaMagic pink.  I then added 3 felt flowers with opposite colored brads.  The pink felt is from Ladybug Crafts ink (thanks queenie poo) and the green felt is from PTI. Finished it off with some white enamel dots - super cute; hope her niece loves it!!

I took some liberties on the inside of the card and added a sentient from The Cat’s Pajamas, “Hope your birthday is as fabulous as me!”.  Isn’t that hilarious?

Thanks for stopping by; hope you are having a great week!

…backpacks full of gifts…

Hugs, ~M.

Repeat Impressions DCC - Watercoloring

Happy Hump Day friends!

Today over at The House That Stamps Built, Miriam chose watercoloring for the designer's choice challenge.  You know, I LOVE watercoloring and all you can do with it and I rarely do watercoloring.  Now that's just wrong!  So thanks Miriam for reminding me what fun it can be.  From the looks of it, I went a totally different direction than the other Rock Stars - hmph; no surprise huh?

I chose the Lupine image and inked it with 4 different colors of Stampin' Up markers; I spritzed the image 3-4 times and them stamped it twice (1st and 2nd generation) on my water color paper.  I was wanting a field of wildflowers - I like it!   I layered the watercolor paper onto PTI Harvest Gold and Hibiscus Burst and added a strip of Hibiscus Burst saddle stitch ribbon.  The sentiment is a rub-on that I have had FOREVER!

Also, once I had all my flowers stamped I spritzed them with MORE water; some of the inks really ran - like the yellow; but it softened them all up a bit more.

I created a wildflower on the inside and on the envie - purdy!!  Springy and summer all rolled into one!

Please stop by the The House That Stamps Built and see what the other Rock Stars have created AND get all the details of how YOU can play along with us!  I promise some incredible creations today AND your chance to win a $25 gift certificate.  Come on, don't be shy and play along!!

Thanks for visiting!

Hugs, ~M.

TLT - Use Red Gaelle Style

It's TLT Time - and this week it is "Gaelle Style" and she asked us to use RED somewhere on our creation.

I will admit right up front, I woke up Sunday (my day to create my TLT creation) with a raging migraine; when I could finally pull myself to my craft room, I decided to go as CAS (Clean and Simple) as possible!

I created a one layer card using one of the Cupcake Cutie images and a border around the card.  I included red on the cherry, along with some Glossy Accents (it's a bit blurry b/c it hasn't dried yet) and red for her shirt.  I added some white enamel for the polka dots on her skirt.  The cupcake wrapper is paper pieced, the rest is colored with Copics.

Certainly nothing fancy, but a cute little card for a cute little birthday girl.

PS - my birthday is coming up in less than a month - take note; big shenanigans ALWAYS take place on my birfday.  And I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my birfday.  YOU.HAVE.BEEN.WARNED.  :D

PPS - notice her leggings do not match her outfit; that's cuz she dressed herself.  LOL  Didn't your little girl do that growing up?  Who cares if they match, couldn't resist!

Thanks for stopping by, be sure you stop by the TLT Challenge Blog and join us; great prizes to be had and we LOVE seeing all your creativity!

AND before I forget....it's coming very soon!

Repeat Impression SOTW - Mussel Shell

Happy, happy Monday! How was your weekend?  Ours was good; but VERY busy. Our little man is still in Georgia with my mom - they are having a GREAT time; but I'm anxious for him to return.  :D

This week at The House That Stamps Built we're sharing the Stamp of the Week - Mussel Shell.  You can purchase this same image for 50% off this week only, so be sure to stop by The House That Stamps Built to get all the deets.

I stamped the image on GKD White twice and cut out each image.  I added some VersaMagic Jumbo Java and PTI Vintage Cream to each shell.  What's really difficult to see is I dry embossed the back side of each shell so they are totally raised except on the edges - they look so cool IRL.  I cut each out and mounted on the sandy beach.  The beach idea came from Michelle Zindorf - that chick can do brayering like none other!!!

Trying to show the 3D effect of the shells!
I brayered Ranger Distress inks combining two blues on top and two sand-tones on the bottom.  I added lots of white gel for sea foam...just like Michelle.  LOL

The image was cut with a nestie and layered onto PTI's Fine Linen cut with a scalloped nestie.  "Live for this moment" - great sentiment; NOW can someone transport me to a beach please? :D

Thanks for stopping by, don't forget to hop over to The House That Stamps Built to check out the great deal AND see all the other amazing creations by the Rock Stars!

Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #116

It's time for another amazing Cupcake Inspiration challenge!

This week we are sponsored by Amber Ink; I recently served as a GD for Amber Ink so you KNOW I love their images.  You can see some of my creations using their products HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE.

And this week we got to work with some brand new digi paper - oh it is delightful; you KNOW I had to go with pink and chocolate (yeah, always calorie free thank goodness)!!  AND just by playing along YOU can win a $15 gift certificate to Amber Ink...she has SO MUCH STUFF; totally inexpensive so you will get a boatload for $15!  Won't you play along?

AND the amazing Cupcake Inspiration picture - yum, yum - so glad they are calorie free!  And stinking cute huh?

Close Up
The layout is Lunch Time Sketch Challenge #178; super fun layout!  The delightful ladybug paper is brand new from Amber Ink; I printed one heart ladybug on white paper and one on the digi paper; I cut just the body out of the digi paper and mounted with dimensionals.  I colored the hearts in with Copics then added white gel dots.  Ah...cute eh?

I mounted the ladybug and circle nestie onto a white doily - swoon...love when I can incorporate doilies!  The base scallop is accented with Ranger Enamel Accents in white.  I thought the inside was just as cute as the outside incorporating PTI's Little Lady stamp set and more digi paper!

Go ahead; take some inspiration from those delightful cupcakes and join in all the fun!

Graduation, never too late to celebrate!

I had a friend request a graduation card based upon some I had posted to my blog a month or so ago.  I love making girly cards, yes I do - so much easier than masculine cards...for me at least!

For this one, I used Jen's June Sketch For You To Try, HERE; great layout!  A couple fun things about this card.  See that big white doily...oh well, it's not white now but it was!  I spritzed it with glimmer mist - impossible to see in the picture but it adds such great color and shimmer to the doily - LOVE!

The smaller doily is a PTI die and is cut with GKD's 120 lb. cardstock - man it's the perfect thickness!  Another...love!

I stamped the sentment from Verve's Great Expectations in Pure Poppy and then added some flourishes form Verve's Express Yourself stamp set.  The flourishes were stamped 2nd generation using VersaMagic's Spanish Olive; love the delicate touch they add!

Some misc. white rose ribbon finishes the card  Super fun, super feminine!

Thanks for stopping by; don't forget to come back tomorrow where we will salivate over cupcakes!  :D

Have a great weekend!

I added some yellow Spica glitter to the center of each flower; tied on some Harvest Gold saddle stitch ribbon and ta-da, that's it!

Today I have a card for you featuring Week 2 layout of the Viva la Verve challenge for June - super sweet layout which you can see HERE.

The "Hello Friend" is embossed with clear embossing powder, I stamped the medium and small flower from Verve's Hope Blooms in black.  I sponged the center of the flowers with VersaMagic Mango Madness and the outer edges with Pumpkin Spice.

I added some crocheted ribbon and hand-dyed (by Mish Mash) crinkle ribbon.  Base is Orange Zest, graph paper is accented with Aqua Mist.
